This carefully appointed, tidy bedroom and bath/vanity is 100 yards from a restaurant and MiniMart store. No kitchen, but a small refrigerator should fill the need for food and beverage storage. Room for 2 people, it serves as a quiet stop for a weary hiker or National Park enthusiast. This bungalow has a 1700 square foot covered porch for spreading out a little more with outdoor seating, if needed. Located just 14 miles from the Guadalupe National Park and Salt Basin Dunes entrance and near several beautiful areas for painters and photographers. Welcome to the arid, clean farming community known as Dell Valley.
This little farming community has been home to me in my early years. I left for many years and when I returned to stay I decided to take special care of the old adobe buildings that have been standing since the 1940s. I have refurbished several properties and I am happy to host you in any of them. The fields of alfalfa, chile and grape vinyards are lush and beautiful many months out of the year. Enjoy!

This little bungalow serves as an easy stopping point if you are visiting the Guadalupe National Park and Salt Basin Dunes, McKitrick canyon or Dog canyon. It is a perfect halfway point between El Paso and Carlsbad Caverns.
Short distance-14 miles to the Salt Basin Dunes,
30 minutes from the trailhead entrance to Guadalupe National Park and McKitrick Canyon and 40 minutes drive to the spectacular Carlsbad Caverns. Breakfast vouchers are provided and there is a coffee maker in the room. Nearby is a lady who will cater in meals and deliver, and laundry services are available at an additional charge, if you would like. Those phone numbers are in your room. Also there are short easy hikes up the Volcanic Cones in the area. Welcome to the Valley.
One of the best I have ever rented - very close to the Guadelupe National Park - wonderful view from the patio both sunrise and sunset.
Everything you would ever need is provided and Del City is a cool little town. I will go back!
We stayed at this sweet spot for the last two nights of a week-long road trip around West Texas. Our host completely transformed each of the rentals into sacred sanctuaries tucked inside old-school square adobe buildings. Driving up from Alpine through the rocky, dusty desert, Dell City appeared like an oasis of green valley farmland. The space was like a secret treasure in this dry desert. The West Room is exquisite, every detail feels like a love letter to rest and relaxation. We pulled into town and got a six-pack of Texas's finest beer - Shiner Bock - and spread out on the porch to enjoy an amazing sunset. Our host, having grown up there, was super-knowledgable about the whole area, showed us around to all the rooms she has renovated, and let us know about hikes and local happenings. One day, we headed out to the Guadalupe Mountain National Park which is only a half-hour drive and hiked the McKittrick Canyon. Having been to a lot of beautiful Texas spots, this park definitely ranks high in the shaking-your-head-and-smiling-uncontrollably-it's-so-magnificent. But I'm a Texas kid who misses the big sky, and I might be a little biased. May's Cafe is a short drive away and serves amazing home-cooked meals with a lot of local sass and attitude. All around, this spot is a great getaway, and we would recommend highly for individuals, couples, groups, and families who are looking for a little quiet inspiration.
