We are a semi-retired married couple that love to travel and connect with people. We currently are writers, ministers and cultivators of fun and meaningful experiences. Ted plays the fiddle and is always looking to play with someone. Cathy is also an artist/photographer and has some of her work at a new store in Mentone, Mentone Spirit.

I was drawn to live in Mentone because of the beauty, peace and community. Heartwood has a big burl in the shape of a heart right outside the front porch of our home. This is a constant reminder to me of the peace and sense of connection that is present here. There are not many places in Mentone that have an open field and a complete forest surrounding you, all for your enjoyment. We also have a stage where you can eat outdoors and grill your food on the propane grill. At night you can have a campfire in the field and enjoy the great view of the stars. Right outside your trailer there is a boardwalk and a deck area where you can eat, read and relax. Heartwood is a special place and many people have been here and called it home.
The property was very well maintained, quiet and peaceful. The camper was cozy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and everything you needed was at your fingertips. The only negative thing was I had no phone service to get in touch with everyone to let them know I made it safely. Apparently that's in a lot of places near there so it's not their fault. Thank you for making my night comfortable. I hope to some day come back and stay longer than one night.
Lovely relaxing stay in the Mountains
I needed some time to do some self-care, and just be. What an environment to do that! Thanks Ted, Cathy, and Lisa for making this restful and inspiring week possible. The beauty of the location of this home-away-from home--AND the hospitality--was the perfect sanctuary for this traveler. Thank you again!
The staff was amazing the land is beautiful. The bread was fantastic.. We will be going back and this is a little slice of heaven..
This was our first time staying at the Glamper but we are definitely planning to return. The grounds were awesome. Lisa was very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful at check in. We ate at The Wildflower Cafe on Sat and walked through the shops at the Log Cabin Village. There is nothing but good vibes at Heartwood. The Ted Bread of course was delicious. By far the best out of town experience we have 😁 Read the blue book on table at arrival, lots of good info in there! Thank you so much for sharing your peace with us.
We cannot think of another place that gave to us the peace and tranquility near Mentone that the Glamper Camper stay did. In our many visits and stays in Mentone, this was the most refreshing place...away from the hustle and bustle and stresses of our busy life. In addition, we will be staying again in part due to the warm hospitality shown to us upon our arrival and the amenities and provisions provided for us. Great place to stay!
