Paris in November!

My husband, daughter (6 years old) and I stayed here at the end of November. We are a great time! We were greeted by Gilles and her daughter at the apartment and they explained everything to us as well as leaving their phone numbers in case we had any questions.

We are from NYC and so we are used to both walking and using the subway. The location of this apartment was ideal for both of these things. In addition to an ideal location was that the apartment itself was very well stocked - it had everything you needed to feel like a home and we were very comfortable there. We do not speak French but found the neighbors to be very friendly and would say things to use using both French and English.

I would absolutely recommend renting this flat if you are interested in being within close proximity to many of Paris' attractions but also want to be away from the crowds. We would love to return to this apartment.

dark, dingy and uncomfortable. Close to amenities and port royal railway, cafes on your doorstep but accommodation disappointing.

Owner's Response: hello sir, a priori you do not appreciate my apartment 50 square in the Latin quarter 15 minutes from the Pantheon at 65 e night for 2 people for a problem of brightness knowing that you were a ground floor I can understand but that you say that it is not comfortable, I think you are bad and at this rate you do not even have a room in a youth hostel with common sanitary facilities, it is preferable that you rent a hotel in 200 e the night and you will be able to compare the difference, it is several years that I rent and never nobody complains Gilles

Good for Paris

Owner - Gilles but we dealt with Patricia who was very helpful providing explicit directions even though we missed a turn early in the journey after the RER train trip. However She telephoned and text us when we were over due, once again providing directions as best as she could and then meeting us at the apartment and explained everything to us. Prior to leaving she warned us of an impending train strike the morning of our departure, so we were able to plan ahead - she was very attentive.

Location was very convenient with the RER train station only minutes walk and attractions only a small number of stops away - in summer you could walk to some. There are grocery stores, restaurants, bars, butcher, bakery all in the neighbourhood very close to the apartment.

The apartment had all the essential working appliances including washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, coffee pod machine, television and wifi. We did find the lack of a window in the apartment an issue for us, the flat does have a skylight in the bedroom and skylight/3 glass ceiling panes in the kitchen one of which is semi-opening. Our biggest concern was only having one entry/exit to the apartment being the front door and this opened into an enclosed courtyard with an electronically controlled steel bar gate with no option for manual unlocking from the inside to get out if there is a power blackout or fire. We do acknowledge that different countries have different firesafety regulations and in Australia our regulations a very strict. We also acknowledge Paris is a very different proposition due to the age and proximity of the buildings so it is difficult to compare.

Due to age and general wear and tear, maintenance is an ongoing issue for this apartment.

We would however again like to thank Patricia for her attentiveness, friendliness and concern.

Excellent location

Gilles was an excellent host and even took the time to meet us at the train station late at night . The apartment itself was tastefully decorated and cozy. The apartment was perfect for a family of four but could easily sleep six. We hope to return here in the future .

Perfect for visiting Paris!

This was such a nice, comfortable retreat, close to everything yet private and safe. We arrived exhausted, had no trouble finding the flat, and although we were early, Camille allowed us in to rest before setting out for our first day in Paris. It had everything we needed, a comfortable bed, a small kitchen with coffee maker, stove top, microwave and fridge. Markets right outside with a Boulangerie and Patisserie, two small grocery stores, and a charcuterie. The RER and Metro were close, and everyone was so kind. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return. Thank you!

Excellent location. Great apartment.

This apartment is in prime location. Easy walk from Port Royal meaning simple to get to/from airport, Disney via Les Halles and walking to Notre Damme, Louvre, Eiffel Tower. Fit our 5 member family perfectly. Friendly host who met us on the street outside the apartment and showed us round inside (thanks Patricia). Very useful dishwasher, washing machine and clothes dryer. Very safe with multiple access codes and locks. Supermarkets opposite and round the corner. Cool flat for hot days. We had 32 deg C. outside but refreshingly cool inside. Flat itself is a little eclectic in the kitchen but does give it a more homely feel (who doesn't have an assortment of everything in their kitchen drawers). Would choose this same place again if returning.
