This property was converted into a cabin from an existing barn in 2011/12. It offers a warm, rustic feel yet very comfortable. This cabin includes a large open kitchen and gathering area for family enjoyment. The kitchen includes basic necessities for your convenience: Pots/pans, electric griddle, crockpot, cooking utensils, etc.
The gathering area opens up onto a large deck overlooking a meadow where elk often graze and views of the mountains and valley can be enjoyed. A large gas grill is part of the deck area for outdoor cooking along with many deck chairs, picnic tables & benches for outdoor meals.
There are 5 bedrooms downstairs and one large bedroom with 2 beds & a bathroom upstairs. This rustic themed rental sleeps 14 in beds (2 king beds, 4 queen beds, 1 full bed). The bathrooms include one full, one 3/4 with a very large walk-in shower, and one smaller 3/4. The loft and sitting areas provide beautiful views of Alpine, mountains, meadows and pastures.
A mudroom serves as the entry to the front of the cabin with benches and a large coat & hat rack where you can sit to remove shoes.
For colder months there is central heat as well as a gas fireplace in the gathering room.
You will enjoy the spacious feel of the outdoors where there is room for baseball, horseshoes, and any number of activities.
There are corrals for horses when needed and an easy access to national forest within approximately 1/2 mile from cabin.
We purchased this property because it provides a peaceful retreat no matter what time of year. It is far enough away from the seasonal local town activities, yet close enough for conveniences. We enjoy the spaciousness of this 4 acre property for all types of fun activities from scavenger hunts, horseshoes, bike riding, horseback riding, hide & seek, to just resting on the back deck enjoying the beauties and sounds of nature.
Many times In the early morning hours elk are seen grazing on the property. We have counted up to 75 elk at one time. We are also close enough to walk or ride into the national forest about l/2 mile down the road.
This cabin is very spacious, with room for everyone. It would be perfect for family reunions. The kitchen contains everything you need to cook meals (electric griddle, toaster, pots, pans, mixing bowls, measuring spoons/cups, as well as all plates, bowls, cups, and utensils). There is also a large gas grill out on the porch. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. The large yard area is perfect for family games. It's in a great area! We had a wonderful time.
The Barn, is perfect for any family occasion. Plenty of room, super clean, and modern. You can not beat the views, purely amazing. Saw elk every morning and evening while there. Feels like you at home, while on vacation. I will re book in the future. For what you get, the views, location, and how clean it is you will not fond a better deal.
This cabin was all we needed and more! We came up for a work retreat, there were 10 of us, 6 employees and 4 significant others. The pictures do not do justice for the amount of common space that there is. It's big and beautiful! And the view from the living room windows is so peaceful. There were plenty of things in kitchen to help with every meal and then some. The pots and pans could do with some updating, almost everything was sticking and burning to the bottom of several of the pans. Also, the knives need to be sharpened a bit. A couple of the beds were a bit hard. Those things were so minor, though, and the entire stay was very peaceful and comfortable. The whole place is well kept up. The location was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to others. We had a fabulous and stress-free stay. :) Two thumbs up!
Great in all catagories. Would highly recommend, owner real easy to work with.
Would stay again.
The cabin house was beautiful and so clean. The kitchen was completely furnished with pots, pans, utensils, microwave, toaster, and even spices. Each family had their own bedrooms and bathroom. The view from the living room was great--horses in a pasture. My grandchildren enjoyed the tire swing. We even had elk in the middle of the night bugling back and forth. The scenery was great. It was quiet and we could not hear any traffic. We would not hesitate to go back.
The home was very clean and inviting. We had multiple generations present who enjoyed everything offered from the tire swings to watching July 4th fireworks from the porch to having access to ground floor bedrooms for those of us who aren't so good a climbing stairs now.
We enjoyed the great room as people could visit and still track the movements of small children in the open area. The outside area was large enough to provide room for badminton and volleyball. The squirrels and jays visits were a bonus.
