There is an obvious reason why this property is so cheap compared to others of similar location and size. Yes, the house is large and has a great view of the inter coastal waterway. That's where the beauty ends and the nightmare begins. Upon arrival, the microwave did not work, the oven did not work, the water heater for the pool did not work, a number of lights including the shadaleer in the dining room did not work, the washing machine did not work, and the bedroom adjacent to the kitchen smelled like urine. In addition, the linens looked like they were purchased at a garage sale. They were very old and absolutely worn out, and totally disgusting!
In contacting the owner, he was attentive to our requests and sent the repair person that came in the afternoon. That was a complete disaster. The repairman is obviously used to making calls to this property. He was not able to repair the washing machine nor the oven. So no laundry done and we had to cook our dinners out in the grill. Best of all, his repair for the microwave was to lean a piece of wood against the door to keep it closed!!! The pool repair person also confirmed the multiple calls for the same complaint. He also was not able to fix the pool heater so no swimming as well.
I contacted VRBO and opened a case to file a complaint (#21341480) and keep this property from being rented again. In speaking to the surrounding neighbors they confirmed a number of issues as well. This property was purchased as a foreclosure and has been patched up rather than being repaired properly. Our breaking point was when a rat chewed into our bread and cereal in the kitchen.
In speaking to the owner, he agreed to refund us a 1 night stay for all the issues and inconveniences. After a month and a half of excuses, he is not providing a refund. My goal is to keep others for having to go through the same terrible experience. This property should not be available for rental in VRBO, or any other site.
This house was great it is so big the pictures don't do it justice. The owner was very accommodating with many thing you needed. My party BBQ and watched the sun set over the bay it was relaxing and after staying there I will never get another hotel room again in my life. The master bedroom suite was giant and I would suggest you soak in the tub. The outside is just as nice as the inside and if you like soaking up the rays this is the spot to do it. The only thing that could have been better was some towels were old. But if you look in all the closets you will find plenty of ones. I would give my stay a 9 out of 10. This was the nicest house I've sleep in my entire life.
I was surprised to read some negative reviews. We loved it here!! There was someone to greet us when we arrived she was very nice and helpful. The house was like a mansion very spacious! We had several families staying ranging in age 2-60s. We loved all the seating in the dining room, kitchen and lanai. Also a nice table with lots of seating outside. Beautiful views Felt like paradise! Definitely our favorite vacation spot now. Would recommend to anyone and hope to return!
This home may need a little TLC, but overall it is a great rental with a very responsive owner. We had a couple issues when we arrived and Zach responded within an hour every time I sent him a note. I believe that all the issues that we contacted him on will be taken care of. We had a great week at the house and was all that we expected. Unfortuanaltey the dock had suffered some damage right before we arrived and was not able to be repaired before we got there, but the wood was there when we left to repair. Did not look like there were towels for the pool as there were only four and I assume they were left behind by other renters so you may want to bring them with you. The house was clean and the beds and linens were great. Yes there may have been some lights burnt out, but nothing to lose sleep over. I would definately recommend this property if you are looking for something with a great view, a great pool, and great location.
Had a chance to stay at the property over the Labor Day Weekend. First, let me state unequivocally that the property is in a wonderful area, features a great set-up and was certainly a pleasurable stay for all 12 of us that stayed at the property. In fairness, some of the things that previous people have said are true - the home needs some tune ups, there are certainly active mice in and around the home, the dock is in very bad shape and one of the bottom floor rooms does have a marijuana smell to it at random times. That being said, we had a very laid back crew, we had a great time and we would certainly stay at the home again. I think the bottom line is that the home is a rental, is probably abused by some and can go periods of time without people being there (which can cause issues). However, one needs to understand that, take the home for what it is - a very large layout, well designed house that has a pool on the water - and have a good time. Thanks to Zack.
My family and my sisters' family came together at magnificent Casa Blanca this week 8/15. There were 10 of us, all adults, enjoying every feature and amenity this magnificent house has to offer! The property is every bit as beautiful as it looks in the photos and the description is very accurate. You will be amazed at the house's size. Every single bedroom is gorgeous, spacious and private with its own full modern bathroom. In particular, the first floor two master bedroom suites. they overlook Siesta key's intercoastal. The bedrooms will delight you with their view and super comfortable memory foam mattresses. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans & utensils - all the appliances are up to date. The breakfast den, the formal dining room and the casual outdoor dining by the pool overlooking the water seat a minimum of 12 people comfortably. The living room is spacious and is modernly furnished with beautiful leather furniture and a beautiful bar. Another family room is on the second floor that offers comfort and nice view. The pool and spa are absolutely amazing and we enjoyed every minute of our family reunion. I would highly recommend this property as the location is close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and water sports. My only wish ... I want to take this house everywhere I go.
