***New this year*** 9th Wave B&B has available Kayak, ATV, Hiking, and river fishing trips exclusively for our guests. We have 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed, refrigerator, microwave, and TV. Guests are welcome to prepare their own meals in the main kitchen or can add a meal package to their reservations. You'll feel like part of the extended family hanging out on the deck where you can use the grill to cook up your fresh caught salmon or just unwind in the hot tub. If you prefer, we can whip up a gourmet dish for you out of your catch of the day.
You've heard people say 'we loved our vacation so much we didn't want to ever leave'. We fell in love with Kodiak so much that we bought a property that we could move to and share our experience with others. We are truly family owed and operated business and our guests feel like part of that family while they stay with us.
Monique Lewis purchased this lodge in 2014
This property stood out to us because it's in a remote village, but still within driving distance to Kodiak City. The atmosphere feels the same as many of the cabins you have to take a boat or float plane to get to, but being on the road system has definite advantages. The house has electric and water -- no outhouses or collecting rainwater for a shower. Basically it's the best of both worlds.
There aren't many places on earth that you can walk or drive a short distance, catch a nice sized salmon, and then jump in a kayak and paddle to a completely uninhabited island, cook it on a fire and enjoy true waterfront dining. There's truly something for everyone. Those who are coming to Kodiak for a fully guided experience will find no shortage of bear viewing guides, bird watching guides, wild life photographers, kayaking tours, ATV tours, etc. Those who have some experience and a big sense of adventure can plan their own outings. Some activities require quite a bit of advanced planning to make arrangements for gear, so feel free to ask and we'll assist in any way we can.
Monique was very pleasant and helpful . Great location if fishing the Olds River is where you want to spend your day. The trek to and from town can be time consuming if they are doing road work. My only suggestion to Monique ... Hire a housekeeper!!
...you can possibly stay on Kodiak!...if you don't spend time with Monique & her family at their beautiful home in its amazing location, you really will have missed the boat!!...& I'm not talking about the ferry to Homer!!
Gourmet chef, klayak tour leader extraordinaire, ultra-knowledgeable about Kodiak"s culture, history, politics, flora, fauna, wildlife, et al, make staying at her place especially rewarding...she has beautiful land, a great family, great dogs, [Nico, Fallon, & Bailey], is patient & quickly responsive to whatever you may need; a dazzling multi-tasker she will even do your laundry if you want and is always asking if she can be helpful in any other way...
We would stay nowhere else on the island & we will be telling everyone we know with an interest in Kodiak or Alaska that the 9th Wave B&B is the best place to stay!!...Thanks Monique!!...Michael & Alison
I had a great stay in Kodiak! My room was cozy and comfortable and the owner provided great customer service. I enjoyed exploring all the various beaches, fishing at the river, and kayaking in the bay. I plan on visiting Kodiak again and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

More wildlife viewing opportunities than you could ever imagine, Some of the best bird watching opportunities in the world -- one of the only places you can see black oyster catchers. Unparalleled hunting and fishing. You have to try harder NOT to catch Salmon in the Kodiak streams and rivers than you to do catch them. If you love the outdoors, you'll never want to leave.
