About Laura Lynch

I have loved adobe buildings and construction for 25 years. I left my home town for several years and when I returned I decided to refurbish the oldest buildings I could acquire into comfortable homes for travelers and friends. Welcome to this tiny Texas town.

Laura Lynch purchased this house in 2010

Why Laura Lynch chose Dell City

It's a 30 minute drive to the entrance of Guadalupe National Park and 10 minutes to Salt Basin Dunes. This church was built by a young missionary from Santiago, Chile and with a dwindling population over the many years the church congregation was not sufficient to keep the doors open. The Drive from here to the Carlsbad Caverns is about 55 minutes. Most folks come here to enjoy the Salt Basin Dunes and McKittrick Canyon and the Guadalupe National Park.

For the caverns

Internet is available nearby. (But I reccommend you unplug and rest as service is spotty)

What makes this house unique

Catered, home-made Mexican food delivered to the church, if you would like, at an additional fee. This is a peaceful town that respects and loves nature and the outdoors. Refrigerated air

Tour the beautiful San Isidro Mission Church and enjoy the vistas. A short drive 40 mins, takes you to the trailhead of Guadalupe Mountain and a shorter 13 mile drive to the Salt Basin Dunes. The volcanic cones in the area are a short 10 minute hike and McKittrick and Dog Canyon also nearby. Carlsbad Caverns and the Salt Basin Dunes are spectacular, a must see.

This area in general offers excellent hiking and night time star gazing. Perry Hardware store and groceries are within walking distance of this Adobe Church. The Valley has picturesque volcanic cones on the horizons which offer gentle short hikes to the top. We have a friendly hard working farm community. Our night life consists of star gazing and there is no better place for it. Since its a farming community nothing is open all night.....or past 9 pm zzzzzzzzzz and most are very early risers

An amazing property and wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not to justice to this wonderful home. It has everything that you would need with an amazing functional kitchen since there is not a lot of dining options in Dell City. The property itself overlooks Guadalupe Peak and the Guadalupe National Park. The gas grill was extremely nice to have and the patio out front was fantastic to use while the sun was setting. Dell City was the perfect, quiet bit of solitude we were looking for and we found a slice of heaven with Laura's wonderful home. Be sure to hike out to the Sand Dunes and also the small volcanic peak that you can see from the home that has a great view of the valley below.

Charming house with full Mountain view .

  • 5 of 5

What a gem! We stayed here for three nights while we hiked in Guadalupe National Park and toured Carlsbad Caverns. The property was nice and had everything we needed. Evening bonfires watching the sun set on Guadalupe Peak was fantastic.

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place to get away from it all. The owner did a great job with the remodel. The rooms are large and spacious. It has beautiful views of the Guadalupe Mountains and it is a great place for star gazing at night. It was very clean, the amenities were perfect for me, and the beds very comfortable. I met the owner and she was very nice and reallly wanted my stay to be perfect. And it was.

Heavenly home by glorious mountains

  • 5 of 5

The moment you walk into Laura's precious, comfy home you know you've picked a heavenly place that feels just like home. Staying here added more meaning to our Mom-daughter Christmas getaway. My daughter & I felt safe and well taken care of, especially after Laura stopped by to say Hello and present us with delicious turnovers. The drive to Guadalupe Mountain Nat Park and Carlsbad Caverns was pleasantly scenic & very exciting. I will definitely miss this heavenly home and will return when we bring friends and family to experience the wonderful time we experienced.
