This two-bedroom fully-accessible apartment has high-end finishes including a custom kitchen with refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and microwave. Dishes, cooking supplies, and dish soap are provided. The master bedroom has a queen TempurPedic adjustable bed, and the second bedroom includes two twin beds (one is a trundle that rolls under the other bed). A queen-sized air mattress is also available. The bathroom includes a zero-threshold tiled shower with two shower heads and heated floor. The vaulted living room has adjustable recliners, a table for four, and patio access. A table and chairs are also located on the patio. Watch the deer walk out of the woods as you enjoy your morning coffee!
This hidden oasis is tucked into the end of a building set back away from the highway on a six-acre lot. It is very quiet (no highway noise and only daytime use of the wood shop on the other end of the building). From the location, you can drive to Lawrence in less than 15 minutes and be in downtown Topeka in 10 minutes. Easy access to I-70, Hummer Sports Park, Rock Chalk Park, and the Kansas Speedway. We live on the adjoining property and are available to answer any questions that you might have.
We built this property in 2010 for my father. He currently travels the country in his camper, so we're making the apartment available to you. My husband and I both commute to Lawrence for work, but we both grew up in the country and wanted to give our children that same opportunity. When we travel, we like to stay in VRBOs but we aren't always comfortable staying in people's home. Our apartment is the best of both worlds. You won't see us unless you want to, but we're always available if you need anything.

The apartment is quiet and secluded, but in less than fifteen minutes you can be to Topeka, Lawrence or three local lakes (Clinton, Shawnee, and Perry).
The place was even nicer than the pictures; really roomy, very neat and clean. Comfortable, cozy and very quiet, easy to find and get to. Very conveniently located between Lawrence and Topeka. Would most definitely stay again when we are in the area! Hostess was very accommodating and prompt with questions. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
Great place for a weekend stay. We were busy during the day but thoroughly enjoyed having a place to come back to at night with more space than a standard hotel room. Everything was exactly as pictured and described; very clean, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, room to watch TV and relax. The owner was awesome to work with and made sure our family had everything we needed for a great stay. We will return!!
We stayed here 3 nights and had an overall enjoyable experience. The kitchen is beautiful with nice appliances and has everything you need to make meals. The queen bed in the master is very comfy. The entire place was spotless too which is a big plus. We had just a few issues...there was no ironing board (why?) so had to use an end table which was very cumbersome. The TV screen was damaged so 4" on the left side of the screen were just lines. Watching TV was ok but using the guide was almost impossible because you could not see some of the important info. Also, the guide is not set to the local time...very frustrating. The parking area is all gravel...some big rocks and some pea gravel. We were there for a wedding so walking on the big rock (with mud in between) in heels was challenging. The pea gravel tracked in every time we came in so we were constantly kicking it everywhere and trying to sweep it up. Very messy. Would suggest investing in a concrete slab that goes up to the door and can accommodate at least two cars. Even if you are not in dress shoes, you still have to carry your luggage in (ours was pretty heavy) instead of rolling it in. Other than that, we were highly satisfied and the owners were courteous and quick to respond to our questions. Also, the price is definitely right, lower that many of the hotel offerings in both Topeka and Lawrence.
A trip to Lawrence found us at the Hidden Oasis, a spacious and comfortable apartment in the country. We greatly enjoyed the adjustable queen bed in one bedroom as well as the large, zero-entry shower. One daughter stayed on the trundle in a second bedroom, and the other chose to sleep on one of the recliners in the living room (rather than share a room with her sister). It was very nice to have the extra space where we could all spread out, including into an adjoining room (between the apartment and workshop) which allowed our night owl to read without disturbing the rest of the family.
Our one complaint was that there was a strong smell of wood stain or varnish that had permeated the apartment from the adjoining wood shop. The idea of breathing fumes all night was somewhat concerning, and we returned home with all our clothes smelling of the stain/varnish. However, other than that, we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Oasis! Lots of room inside and a great price! It was very quiet there too. No reason to get a hotel in Topeka when there is a place like this to stay at.
The apartment was spacious and a blessing when I needed to use my wheelchair. Amy was absolutely a pleasure to deal with and more than helpful when needing directions, nearby wifi, etc. My family and I loved the fact that the apartment was close to Lawrence and Topeka but was situated in a somewhat rural setting and quite peaceful. We will definitely keep this property in mind when returning in the future.
