3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.Combine with property #6300799 and sleep up to 9 people.

Surrounded by olive groves at the foot of the Soller Tramuntana mountains just on the outskirts of the town of Soller just a 10 min walk from the town center Plaza where you can find many restaurants, coffee shops with wifi,bars, pharmacies, banks, outside terraces to relax, galleries, local artisans, and the lovely antique train station with its wood trams that run between Soller and the fishing Port where there are beaches, boat rentals, and other water sports. Olivera is a rustic converted farm house. The master bedroom has a full king size bed. The top bedroom to the left has a queen size bed. The top bedroom to the right also has a queen size bed and a quality portable single bed. Two bathrooms with sinks, wc, and showers, and electric towel racks for the winter.

The large living room opens up to the veranda. The sunny well equiped kitchen also opens up to a veranda with table and chairs so summer dining is a delight with views of the mountains, bird song, and distant sheep bells. A hammock in the shade of the carob been trees to rest and read.There is a combined gas and charcoal barbecue. At the old Soller market you can buy fish caught the same day by our local fishermen also local vegetables.

You can hike into the mountains right from the house or walk to the Plaza and take the tram to the beach. As I do quite a bit of hiking I am happy to recommend good walks and indicate the best maps that are available locally. There are several good walks that are in walking distance from the house.

Arrival time from 4 pm. Departure time by 10 am unless otherwise arranged. Checking in is normally Saturday to Saturday but if we can we will be flexible.

Ideal if you have two families with children and a couple that want to be close but maintain their privacy.

About Maria & Robert

I have always been very interested in the Mallorquin building style, architecture,and culture. I have been professionally involved in designing many homes in Soller maintaining the traditional Mallorquin Soller style. The Mallorquin Soller style is quite unique as it is a mixture of different cultures. Many of the older properties were originally built during the Islamic period that at its longest lasted 300 years. You can still see the influence in the names of many villages like Bini Ali or Lluc Alcari or Bini Basi. Even some people claim the name Soller has an Islamic meaning. There are still lot's of traces left,including many minarets in Palma City.

What makes this villa unique

I liked this house because it is so close to the Center but at the same time tucked away in the olive groves surrounded by nature. Distant sheep bells and the bird song are lovely. We have another smaller property also on HomeAway called Relaxing Casita (advert number 6300799) that is in the vicinity so if you had a larger group you could rent them together. I will be happy to offer any recommendations or assistance to make your stay the best I can.

A Place We Long to be Time and Again

We had the most wonderful holiday here. We took the train from Palma to Soller, followed by a 2 min taxi ride with our bags to the Villa, then after that just strolled the leisurely 10 to 15 mins to and from the restaurants, bars, boutique shops and cultural attractions at the heart of Soller. When you're at the Villa you are in the beautiful Mallorcan countryside and yet so close to all the lovely things that make a holiday truly memorable. The Villa itself is very stylish in a low key, relaxed manner: you feel at home, in a really lovely home. For those who love water, the pool is exception. Crystal clear, chlorine free, spacious and natural feeling. We were there a year ago. I'm writing this now because I dream of being there again but won't be there this year, it was all booked up. Having stayed there once it is for sure a place we long to be, time and again. Julie & Peter

Wonderful Honeymoon

It's a struggle to top the comments already left about this property and Robert. I agree with everything that has been said before. What I loved about this place is that it feels organic, rustic and remote but, you notice the attention to detail in making the place clean, finished and accessible. It's all very clever and feels like it's been created with love and care, coupled with the wondrous setting (I never tired of the towering mountains each morning as I ventured out) it's a gem I'm delighted to have found.

If you're looking for every mod con, clean lines, town center noise and instant access to everything, this isn't the place for you but I challenge anyone to find a more superb setting, genuine charm and character and a more accommodating and friendly host.

Perfect tranquility

Villa Olivera is a beautiful old stone house in the most wonderful location. It's less than 10 minutes walk to the main square in Soller but is set peacefully, in the midst of the foothills of the stunning Tramuntana mountains.

The house, pool and surroundings are lovely, and the kitchen by far the best equipped of any villa we've ever stayed in. And to top it all off, Robert is a fantastic host. extremely highly recommended.

Charming villa in beautiful surroundings

Villa Olivera is a delight, with all the joy of a rural location, and all the convenience of being a short walk to town. The villa has been sympathetically decorated and furnished, and has character and warmth. We were quite happy to spend time indoors during the short spell of thunderstorms that we experienced. But it's the garden, pool, setting and views that made us really fall for the place.

The house was spotlessly clean when we we arrived, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed - it was great to have good quality sharp knives, and a choice of chopping boards. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was great (and reliable).

Robert himself is a fantastic host. He gave us loads of useful local information, showed us how everything worked, looked after the house, and even lent us an emergency printer! And he still gave us all the privacy we wanted at the same time.

Roll on next hols!

Really loved it !!

This is the fifth time we stay at one of Robert and Maria´s places and loved it ! The times before it was just us two and their Casita suited us perfect but this time we came with family and needed a little more space. We had a great time. We did go out to explore but also enjoyed the pool and outside area and found ourselves doing a lot of barbecuing as the Soller fish market has an excellent selection of local fish.We liked the traditional Mediterranean style of the house very much. The house was impeccably clean and had all the appliances we could need. Robert has always been very helpful with tips and suggestions of things to do around Mallorca. We felt at home in both houses and will be coming back.

Soller and the Port are about half an hour drive from Palma airport and have very good connections by train, tram, bus, and taxi services. Situated on the West Coast 25 km from Palma town 10 km from Deia, 3 km from Fornalutx ,and 3 km from Port of Soller. Palma has regular flight connections with most of Europe. If you are driving yourself from the Airport: exit Airport on the MA-19 West, direction Palma continue on highway MA-19 till you get to the exit MA-20, direction Andratx. continue on highway MA-20 till you get to the exit MA-11. Take MA-11 to Soller. You will have two options to drive the mountain pass that is quite beautiful but very curvy and takes about 30 min, or take the tunnel straight to Soller.

We can recommend hiking and canyoning guides, the scuba diving center in the Port is well equipped and friendly. There are rock climbing sights within 20 min drive. There are rental boats and kayaks in the Port of Soller, and water skiing.

Car rental is available in Soller so you can just rent the days you want to use the car for. On your departure you can drop off the Soller rental car at the airport. We recommend renting small cars.
