The house was perfect for us! The outdoor dining was incredible. The pool was such a wonderful addition as the weather was really warm! The hill is a tough walk in the heat.
Beautiful villa on the top of Levanto. You can walk to town from villa but it is quite a hike up on the way back! The living/dining area was perfect for our group of 10. A few things that were kind of a bummer - the kitchen missed simple things like salt, pepper, tin foil, oil, garbage bags, etc. These are things that could be kept in the villa for other vacationers so each renter doesn't need to buy them for one time use. The other thing was the bugs. There were stinkbugs everywhere in the main villa and an ant invasion on our last day. The guest house in the rear had a pretty bad ant infestation during the whole stay. With a visit from the exterminator, the place would be perfect. Beautifully decorated and large enough for a big party! Perfect place to stay outside of the Cinque Terre towns - right on the hiking trail to Monterosso!
The property is wonderfully located with lovely views.
We loved our 3 day stay and Paolo was there any time we needed him. The villa was well equipped and comfortable. We were a family of 9 -- 3 generations. There are a lot of steps to get into the villa but my husband and I are 78 and 80 and we managed just fine. Levanto is a lovely town to explore with lots of eateries and cafes. Would recommend this villa for a large family gathering.
Beautiful villa by the sea.
The villa was exactly what we hoped. The 5 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths were very comfortable for 10 people. The pool was a huge bonus! Also loved that the freezer had an ice maker. Paulo was a great host. Would definitely return.
Villa Mesco was exactly what my family was looking for. There was plenty of room for everyone. The outside space is so lovely it was hard to motivate everyone to leave! As others have mentioned, it is right on one the walking trail to Monterosso. It was a wonderful hike from the house, I'd highly recommend it.
We were there in early June. The days were warm and the small pool was nice to cool off in. The evenings were cool and the house was a very comfortable temperature as there seemed to always be a lovely breeze. The kitchen is well equipped. Really, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to hang out and discover our surroundings. Paolo was a great host who met us as we drove into town and escorted us to the house, showed us around, and answered all of our questions. There's a book with lots of suggestions. A sunset boat ride from the town dock is a perfect way to end the day. Looking forward to returning to Villa Mesco some day!
Great family place in Italy!
Paola's Villa Mesco was just as described and exactly what we were looking for. 10 family members were gathering in Levanto for a family wedding. The Villa was perfect. Plenty of room, a nicely equipped kitchen, and the outdoor seating space was phenomenal! Lots of comfy seating, separate areas when you needed that quiet reading spot, and views to die for! Exactly like the pictures on HomeAway. Including the brightly colored dishware on the tables. The place was clean, all linens supplied. We had a tiny issue with one set of sheets being the wrong size and Paola delivered a new set that very afternoon. He was quick to respond to any questions and gave good restaurant recommendations as well. The Villa had a very nice welcome package of information that proved quite helpful. Even the cab drivers know "Paola's place". Cabs were needed from the train station if you have luggage. It is very hilly in Levanto. We walked the majority of the time, just remember it is a hike back to the Villa. With 10 of us, grocery shopping was doable as we each carried a bag or two. Luggage was too much, and all dressed up for the wedding we also taxied, but walked home. The area is beautiful and a National Park. The Villa is actually on the hiking trail. That was gorgeous. We enjoyed hearing all the languages ascending the trail, but if you are a late sleeper you may not. Of course the local church bells chime the time, every 15 minutes, starting at 7 am, which my sister loved! Not a place to sleep in for sure. But why would you want to! I highly recommend Villa Mesco and the Cinque Terre region!
Thanks to everybody for your stay .
Hope to have you again .
