Charming house in breathtaking location
We spent a very enjoyable week visiting nearby castles and villages. The house is very pretty but the stairs, with their open treads and unprotected drop from the top, might be disconcerting for some and a definite risk for a crawling baby or toddler.

Perfect in every way
We had the pleasure of staying for one week in this lovely little house. It was the perfect base on which to travel around the other little villages in this region. It was so clean and tidy and is a credit to the oweners Geordy and Jessica. The attention to detail with which this house been furnished ensured that there was nothing which we could have wanted for. The barbecue set in the outdoor space made for a relaxing end to lovely days spent in the Dordogne.

Beautiful place
What an amazing area of France to visit and this house is situated in a perfect place to go exploring. We were looked after amazingly by the whole family - very thoughtful. Overall we felt privileged to be able to stay here - when we booked we had not realised the significance of this village and just where it was situated. Beautiful and so amazing in its history. The house it's self was finished off perfectly and very quaint - set on 3 floors it is simply but tastefully furnished and very comfortable. You have everything you need and the quality of the renovation is excellent. as meantioned in other reviews if you have restricted mobility you would possibly struggle with layout but also you would need to be mindful staying in this village as you do have hills and slopes to walk as cars cannot get to all areas. However if you are looking for some history, some peace ( you do get use to the church bell every hour! 😊) and some great hospitality then choose here because we loved it and as I said felt privileged to be based in such a special village with stunning views and at the foot of a impressive castle. And with delightful hosts. Fantastic....

Beautiful property
The property is beautiful, in a historic and beuatiful village and close to some of the most stunning areas of the Perigord. There were a few minor niggles - the property was lacking some basic equipment that you would expect (for example, a barbecue was provided, but no barbecue tools... (But there are now, we bought some and left them at the property!) And no egg cups! Also, the bed was slightly inaccesible for somebody with a back disabilty (me!) and the access via the upper stairs to the sleeping area is restricted. Parking was also difficult at times because the village is very popular. Nevertheless, a lovely place.

Just wonderful!
The house itself is just lovely - full of charm and wonderfully decorated. Also, the village of Castlenaud (about a 10-15 minute drive from Sarlat) is picture perfect and with stunning views of the Dordogne. Thoroughly recommended and we'd love to go back one day!
