We spared no expense on our newly remodeled home. Luxuriously appointed inside and out. Enjoy your private balcony off of the Master Bedroom and throw a Crawfish Boil on the outdoor patio. Catch a Mardi Gras Parade on Carrollton or head over to the famous Maple Leaf Bar for quality music and a beer. At least 5 - 4 Star restaurants are within walking distance from the house. Something more casual in mind? Walk to over 30 different restaurants from Mexican, Middle Eastern, Cajun, French Bakery, and Vegan to Thai. Take a stroll to Loyola and Tulane or visit the Audubon Park and Zoo, just ten minutes from the house. Jump on the Street Car just 2 blocks away and enjoy a scenic ride to the French Quarter without any hassle!

Why Michael Quinlan chose New Orleans

This house is a true testament to the magical flora and fauna of NOLA. There isn't a moon brighter or a better patio to admire it from. The star jasmine is more equisite than any tropical flower in Hawaii. Most importantly, you cannot pass up the opportunity to pluck a fresh lime from the back yard for your Margarita! Everything special about New Orleans is exemplified in our home and our neighborhood. It is a place of beauty, depth, joy, and individuality. The music and culture are as endless as the fantastic food and friendly people.

What makes this house unique

Our house is modern New Orleans with its new interiors and improvements. However, it is still a beautiful sanctuary full of comfort, peace, and joy....not unlike New Orleans herself.

Perfect Location and Nicely Remodeled

I am reviewing the owner and the house. Most times there is no interaction with the owner. In our case we had an issue arise. It was handled appropriately.

Owner Review: I have rented at least a dozen VRBO houses, and this is the first time I had to deal with the new app. The app provides some useful information. However, the app was confusing and in this case, it provides old door codes that did not work. Theresa timely responded to my call providing me with the proper codes. Thereafter, an updated app provided the right door codes. An issue arose after our stay where the property manager reported that there was a discoloration on the bunk bed sheets that was attributed to candle wax. Therefore, a small sum was withheld from our deposit. I do not blame Michael. He has no idea what is going on as he is not there and knows only what the property manager is telling him. I assured him that we never lit a candle. Frankly, only an idiot would place a lit candle on a soft bed. But I am a landlord as well and I rent to people with questionable mental fortitude. I had an issue with my tenant who decided to put up Christmas lights on the balcony in July. After ignoring HOA letters to take them down, I had to hire someone to climb the outside and remove them to avoid fines. So, I get it. I deal with idiots. So, I understand that Michael only knows what the manager tells him. But he took my word that I did not light a candle and refunded the withheld portion of the deposit. He took the high road. That is what I would have done. It was the type of damage that could have been there for months without notice.

The House: This is one of the best houses I have rented. Having lived in NOLA (I am a Tulane grad) I knew exactly where the house was. It’s a five minute walk to my favorite places (Jacques Imo’s, Maple Leaf, Cooter Browns, Vincents), and a five minute walk to the street car. The neighborhood is safer than it was when I lived there. Having lived in NOLA, the houses can be more than 100 years old and in various states of repair. This one has been remodeled quite nicely. It has central air (a rarity) and top of the line appliances (except for the washer and dryer, but they work fine). Most impressively, ALL the mattresses are high quality memory foam type mattresses. The balcony was surprisingly nice (hung out there a lot) with a view of a massive oak tree. The patio and large yard are a plus.

Perfect for our NOLA Sugar Bowl/NYE trip!

The East Carrollton property was a beautiful home in a great area! We were a family of 6 who came to visit New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and some New Year's Eve family fun, and we all very much enjoyed our stay. All of the beds were very comfortable and the home was very clean and well maintained. The bunk bed set up and 2nd bath on a separate level was perfect for our group, as we had two college boys who were coming and going often late at night. They were able to come and go as they pleased without completely disrupting the rest of us who liked to go to bed a little earlier. The home had everything we needed with plenty of room for privacy and down time. The master suite and bath were beautifully decorated. My husband and I both loved that we had so much space! Our teenaged girls shared the extra queen room and had plenty of space with the extra lovely loft - the comfy sofa was an added bonus for them to crash and have their own place to relax. The main level was great for watching TV/football and hanging out with our family, and also for gathering for snacks/drinks/meals in the well stocked kitchen. The backyard and patio were great, but the chilly weather didn't allow for us to use it this trip! The home was very convenient to the main attractions and we had no problems getting around - as we parked our own cars and used UBER for the rest of our stay. We loved having all of the local coffee shops and restaurants so close by. We walked to Jacques-Imo's Cafe for our NYE dinner (the best meal of our trip - delicous and only two blocks from the home!!!). We also loved our beautiful morning walk/run on New Year's Day with a break for delicous hot coffee and fresh pastries at Z'otz (the locals there were welcoming and so friendly and the food/coffee was great!)

I would recommend this home for anyone traveling to NOLA who wants to be close enough to the exciting activities, but far enough away for a restful and peaceful get away! We had a wonderful stay in the fantastic home - with all of our questions answered in a timely and courteous manner. Thank you for being so professional and making our stay so nice.

The stay was excellent, The home unique and location perfect. Weather could have been better, little wet. Comment: Didn't use the tub in the master because we felt it would be too dangerous. A handrail or stepping contraption would be a great help. Handicap Bars. We thank you all for sharing. The Browns

Blue House Fun

The house was a great retreat after our adventures in New Orleans. Plenty of space and well furnished. Only one and a half blocks from the St. Charles street car.
