Windows and natural light and wood are the dominating features of the interior of this beautiful, family-friendly home.
There are three bedrooms - two with queen-size beds and one with a full bed - and a full bathroom upstairs.
On the main floor, there is a kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and plenty of cabinet space. There is a full bath with a coat closet and washer and dryer. The living space is open and includes two dining tables, a 32" flat screen tv with dvd player, two couches, two twin sleigh beds, and additional seating. There is a closed porch in the front of the house and a deck out front.
The yard is 1/2 acre and offers plenty of grass for play. There is a gas/charcoal grill on the back porch and a fire pit outside to the side of the garage with a swinging seat. There is a two car garage with one side for parking and one side filled with seats for hanging out.
Elizabeth and I (Erik) are social studies teachers in Maryland. We spend a bit of our summer and many breaks in Long Lake and our five children love it. They can't wait to go. We have arranged the home to be inviting to family, and hope others will love their time at the house as much as we do.
Erik Sandersen purchased this house in 2008
While the house is not on the water, we hope to have priced it at a level where a family or couple could enjoy a mountain / lake getaway without breaking the bank. We love the privacy, yard, fire pit, garage leisure activities and easy access to all of the beauty and activities of the region.
Great place for the summer or the cold seasons
Pros: House was huge, beautiful inside, clean and had almost everything you would need minus toiletries (soap, shampoo) that most places don't include. Kids enjoyed the Wii, DVD and books on a rainy day. Also there is a huge play room for kids in the front with lots of toys which was great for our 4 year old.
Cons: There are no curtains in the house so privacy is a bit of an issue. Noise from traffic could be an issue at night during a busy time of year as it was very loud when present.
Would certainly be back again.
We had a great time at this house!!! Great location and the house is warm and comfortable. Our party was 4 adults and 4 kids and we had plenty of room. The showers are wonderful and clean. The house is fully stocked and the garage puts this house over the top. We had everything we could ask for and we will most certainly be renting again.
Refurbished interior of an Adirondack house is lovely & is located near Long Lake, however, it is next to the highway which is noisy, especially at night. Clean & neat with many windows, but bedrooms up steep stairs
would benefit from shades/curtains for privacy.
Needs coffee mugs, additional drinking glasses, towels were scarce. Easy things to address. Otherwise very happy.
There are numerous lake beaches, golf courses, and hikes within a 15 minute ride. 1/3 mile down the hill from the house are ice cream shops, a convenience store/gas station, and a mini golf course. Walking just a bit further, there is a field with soccer goals and a baseball diamond. Walking another 1/4 mile straight, there is a pavilion with basketball and tennis courts and town events. Walking 1/4 or so to the right, there is a church, a library, grocery store, the Adirondack Hotel with a restaurant and bar, grocery store, the town beach (lifeguards, slide, rope swing, small trampoline), and kayak rental.
