An oasis from the heat & noise of Granada

This was a very comfortable place to stay. I really enjoyed being up in the hills of Granada rather than the plaza. The large bed was very comfortable w/ good lighting for reading. I spent a lot of time in the courtyard that was a cool break from the heat and noise of motorcycles/buses.

The kitchen/living area is rather dark & I would recommend putting floor lamps near the sofa. Another window would help to brighten it up but w/ a 16th century bldg. this may be a challenge. The kitchen was nicely stocked & I was able to use leftover condiments for cooking.

A very nice couple, Noelia & Daniel, live upstairs & were always available for conversation or help in recommendations. Having a W/D was appreciated, too.

Comfort with historic character!

Our five nights in this 400 year old apartment were comfortable and interesting. The owners who live in the building have conscientiously remodeled to maintain original character while modernizing for convenience; the small kitchen and bathroom are pretty and well equipped, although we struggled using the unfamiliar coffee maker on the gas stove. The doorways are about 6 feet high; one is especially narrow. The Wifi worked well; having the use of the excellent washer and dryer was lovely. Beautifully shuttered windows and door open onto a pretty inner courtyard so the rooms are quiet and dark for sleeping. The online instructions for arrival by bus were poor so we arrived late but Marian was patiently waiting for us. We should have taken a taxi- more direct and relatively inexpensive. We were happy to 'live in' Albayzin for a few days, and thankful for fitness and an offline smart phone map. While the city is compact for close-up walking, the C1 and C2 Alhambra buses and the hop on -hop off train provide a convenient orienting overview.

Alhambra - a trip into history

My husband and I stayed at this quaint and charming apartment for 3 days and nights. Noelia and Daniel were very good hosts. They made many recommendations which helped us to enjoy the area more fully. Granada is a lovely city to explore on foot and the Alhambra is breathtaking in its history and beauty of the gardens. The apartment is very old but has the modern conveniences - a good sized shower and a serviceable kitchen, which we didn't use due to our short time spent there. We enjoyed a night watching the flamenco singing and dancing and it was situated very close to the apartment which made it convenient and easy to return home to in the dark. Would we stay here again - yes we would!

Great Location

Apartment was well located for exploring the old part of Granada. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. Monica was very helpful, particularly while parking our hire car in a very tight space. The parking space was extremely handy. There were only a couple of minor issues, no microwave and the internet was intermittent - but GPS doesn't work very well in the old quarter either.

A great place to stay in Granada!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in the Alhambra Apartments, Granada. Old arabic house with central patio where we enjoyed escaping the summer heat. Excellent location and parking alongside very useful. Owners very helpful, highly recommended!

Buses run from the centre of Granada to the Albayzin every 15 minutes - numbers 31,32 (Albaicin) or 34 (Sacromonte) both pass within metres of the apartment. Also taxis after hours cost less than 5 euros from the centre to the apartment.
