We are a retired professional couple. We moved here from northern California. We love the lifestyle in this ranching community and the beauty of the surroundings. There is so much to do and see. We are still discovering so much. We ride our horses often. Ray loves to play pool and I play the fiddle. We have a blessed life here.
Mary and Ray Visco purchased this house in 2005
We bought this property because it is actually in the Coronado National Forest. It has easy access to trails for hiking and riding.
It is in the National Forest so we won't have new neighbors. It will stay pristine foothills and grasslands if we manage it correctly. We have immediate access to miles of trails and it is centrally located in the Arizona wine country.
We love the country setting and the accommodations!! We brought our dogs and horses with us and we couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy the outdoors with them.
Mary and Ray are wonderful hosts, very helpful and fun.
My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and had a fantastic time!! The house had everything we needed and more. It was very clean, cozy and perfect for us. Delicious breakfast and lovely treats were stocked for us which was such a nice surprise. Mary was such a lovely host - we will absolutely stay again. Beautiful property, amazing views! A must stay in Sonoita.
Mary was so accommodating and wonderful to us. We loved the palace and will stay there again when we go back to Southern AZ! Thank you Both!
We traveled to southern Arizona to escape the cold Illinois weather and ride our motorcycle. We are so happy we found Mary and Rays little slice of heaven for our touchdown each evening. The barn house is absolutely amazing and Mary thought of EVERYTHING needed to make our stay incredible. If you are looking for quiet beauty this is the place. We found everything just as described in the listing. Mary even provided breakfast food which was very helpful since we didn't have an opportunity to hit a store on the way in. The property is beautiful and the sunsets are indescribably gorgeous. We hope to visit again in the future. Make sure you visit Tombstone and Bisbee. Thanks again Mary and Ray!!!!
With busy work schedules we were looking for a place to recharge for a long weekend. Wow, the Sky High Ranch is the perfect place to unplug. There is no cell service at the ranch, which we welcomed, but they do have internet. Mary and Ray stock the ranch will all sorts of extras - snacks, eggs, bacon, milk, coffee, even dog treats. We took our dogs for hikes in the National Forest and sat outside on the back porch taking in the amazing views of their horses in pastures to the rolling hills beyond. Although the ranch feels far away from everything it isn’t. There are several wine tasting rooms in the area as well as a couple of great places to eat. We are looking forward to coming back and so are our pups. Thank you Mary and Ray for such a wonderful place to stay!
We are right in the heart of the wineries. They have many events during the year and wine tasting year-round. We are within approximately an hour's drive from many attractions including Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, Bisbee, Patagonia and Ramsey Canyon (with world-class birdwatching), Tucson and Mexico.
