My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks this August and I can tell you it was two weeks too short! This charming house is well appointed and comfy. Everything you need in the kitchen (so rare for a rental property) and my husband is a big cook. The yard was spectacular - so much nicer than the pics! There was enough shade that we ate every meal outside. Actually the whole house is nicer than the pics, and so was the local rocky beach pictured above. We were shocked to discover that even in August we mostly had the beach to ourselves or shared with a few others. Swimming in the salty sound was delightful and we couldn't stop selecting rocks. Plus, they are tolerant of dogs and my lab Nelly swam every day. The beauty of this location, is that you are so close to everything - downtown Greenport, the rocky beach and when you felt like it the sandy/rocky beach where you can watch the ferry to Shelter Island go back and forth. I highly recommend staying here and we will be back.
My wife and 1 yr old son stayed in this cottage and it was the most perfect week of relaxing family time. This house is full of charm and decorated with incredible care and attention, as you can see from the pictures. It really looks exactly like the photos. Each bedroom has very comfortable beds, AC and plenty of room to unpack. The master bedroom even had an office area attached that was perfect for the baby. We love to cook and the kitchen was perfect for us. there was plenty of space and all of the tools we needed. I could go on and on about the house, but the backyard was really the best part. Three separate sitting areas, again decorated with care, with varying amounts of shade meant that we rarely left, unless we were headed to the nearby beach or walking into town. I can't go on enough about how wonderful this place is. Amy was super nice and gave us everything we needed, while also giving us 100% privacy. I used the car maybe twice the whole time we were there. Downtown Greenport is 10-15 min walk, Alice's Fishmarket is a 5 min walk, and two beaches (1 sandy, 1 rocky) were also 10-15 min walk. All of these walks are on sidewalks and filled with historic houses.
