Fourth Ave South, Essex House, a lovely, quaint, first floor 1 bedroom condo, only 4 short blocks to one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches ever, and 99 steps to the very center of Old Naples’ famous Fifth Avenue South with world-class restaurants, unique designer shops, art galleries, theater, and lively nightlife. Walk to breakfast at a sidewalk café, stroll to the pier, fish a little, take an afternoon bike ride through Old Naples or play some tennis at Cambier Park. Come back to your little oasis at Essex House for a swim in the pool before heading out in the evening for a gourmet dinner, theater, art gallery hop, ice cream, then relax while you enjoy the beautiful sunset on the sand.

This condo has a new renovated kitchen, full size appliances with natural wood cabinets, stainless backsplash and granite tops, table with seating for four. New white Florida plantation shutters house all windows, and new remote control fans with light are in each room. Living room sectional with a large 46” wall mounted television, cable and internet provided. The light sea-green bedroom has a queen size bed, bedchest and a large cedar-lined closet covered with mirrored sliding doors for lots of storage.

There is private parking by your unit, a sparkling private pool with outside rinsing shower, community laundry, and barbeque steps from your door. This is a non-smoking unit, no pets permitted.

About Karen Harris and husband, Dwight Olson

We have lived here since 1976, (coming from small towns in Minnesota and Ohio) raising 4 children and watching Naples grow and change. We live in the northern 'country' area of Collier County and love the Old Town part of Naples with its pier for fishing,beautiful white sandy beaches and gorgeous sunsets. So we looked for a retreat from our busy lives. We wanted to 'stop and smell the roses'. The little condo is a breadth of fresh air. We love it, as our children, family, and friends do. We can stay for a weekend, week, or just a day. My 94 year-old mother can go for a little beach scene then come back and rest while others can walk the art festivals, fishing, shopping or just an ice cream cone. It truly is a treasure to share.

Location, location, location. In 4 blocks you can walk to the beach! 99 steps to 5th Ave., Also from your residence go 2 blocks west and 7 blocks south and you are at the 3rd St. shops and restaurants. From here you are now a few blocks from the famed Naples Pier! The fishing on the pier is free!!! No license required! It's paid for by the City of Naples! We don't need the car. Everything we like we can walk to: tennis, art, beach, park, fishing, concerts, library, shops, food and entertainment in the streets. People come from all over the world, so we really feel we are on a mini vacation, when we only traveled 30 minutes from our home. (but it is so different, so relaxing, so away from it all, a true fun-time rest.)

it's a little condo, for a lot of what is going on outside the condo. Price is good. We are full-time residents who know the area to help make your stay pleasant and free of problems. We may even bring you home made cookies!

Great Location!

Just returned from our trip to Olde Naples. We had the most wonderful time. This unit is in an ideal location. You can walk to 5th Avenue, 3rd Street. the Ocean, or the Bay. We had spectacular weather, found the traffic to be low, the food in the area was very good and reasonable. The shops are fun and they had a farmers market that we enjoyed. The owners were very easy to rent from and I would easily recommend this unit.

Romantic, cozy Naples at its best

We loved the condo, location to 5th Avenue, charming grounds and pool. The condo was lovely, like a travel-magazine -beautiful and so well equipped! Karen couldn’t have been more helpful and concerned that we be happy. We would be happy to stay again some time.

Great location in Old Naples. I strongly recommend it to couples and solo travellers.

I stayed for 16 days and everything was perfect. Very close to Fifth Avenue shops and restaurants and yet very calm on a quiet street. Pool very clean. You can easily walk to the beach. The owners provide beach chairs, umbrella, towels, etc. The kichen is fully equipped. Internet absolutely reliable. Cable TV with multi channels. Laundry facilities. Lots of practical information made available on the area. Very good quality-price ratio for Naples.

Perfect location, very comfortable accommodations, friendly owners

This unit is very close to all the action that we were looking for. Five minutes to the beach, and two minutes from all the fun on 5th avenue. The accommodations were comfortable if not luxurious. The little added touches such as books, games , beach chairs and towels, and of course the welcoming bottle of wine, made it a delightful experience. My only complaint was that the pool was not heated and as a result remained cold (for me) the entire time. Some days the ocean water was warmer. I imagine in the winter months it would have been unusable.

The Ultimate Naples Vacation Spot!

We had a wonderful vacation at Essex House! We could not ask for a better location! Steps from the most beautiful beach in Florida and world class dining! We walked everywhere. We enjoyed the theatre, Third Street South Shops and the market on Saturdays. We enjoyed the art show on 5th Ave S, not to mention the restaurants and shops. We also got into the habit of having an ice-cream cone every night after our walk. The condo had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation with all the amenities of home. We were also surprised with a great welcome package including wine, and lots of treats...Too many to mention. The property was very clean and very well maintained. We loved reading by the pool and the use of the gas bbq. The owner checked to see if we needed anything, but everything we needed was already provided. I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives and hope to stay there again.

Great Location, Weather and Accommodations

Stayed for a week, before Christmas, when Naples was less busy and the weather mild. The condo was perfect for the 2 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, including picnic supplies, if you wanted to lunch at the beach. The bed was comfortable and the condo furnishings were just right for a small unit. There are lots of fans and air, though we didn't need them and preferred open windows. We rented bikes for the week and it was the way to go as the area is flat and beautiful for biking. Though we didn't meet them face to face, we felt the owners were accommodating and willing to please. We had a very nice week and enjoyed this condo very much. We would recommend it. Directions from RSW (RSW is Fort Myers International Airport) to 544 4th Ave. S., Naples FL 34102 at The Essex House.

Exit airport on Terminal Access Road (the only exit from the airport) travel approx. 6.2 miles to I-75 South. Enter I-75 southbound by following the lane markers marked Naples it will be a right turn cloverleaf entrance to go South. Travel South approx. 21.8 miles to exit #105 (Golden Gate Parkway). Turn West (right) travel approx. 6.1 miles to Goodlette Road. Turn South (left) onto Goodlette Road and travel approx. 1.6 miles to Central Ave. Turn West (right) travel about 4 blocks to 9th St S (U.S. 41/ Tamiami Trail) turn South (left) travel 4 blocks then turn west (right) onto 4th Ave S travel 3 1/2 blocks to an unmarked roadway just past 6th St S turn left onto unmarked driveway, go just past the building on right (The Essex House) turn right and the designated parking spot (marked #6 on the bumper stop) is the 4th one over on the right facing the building. The back of our unit is directly behind this parking spot.

There are 2 doors for the unit. The door to the right with the address is the main access to the unit. Your personal electronic door lock code will be given to you prior to your arrival. The door to the left is for a storage area. It takes about 35 to 40 minutes travel time from the airport depending on traffic. Your parking spot is #6 directly behind the unit.

Any payments made with a credit card will be charge a transaction fee of 3.0% of the total price paid and will be deducted from the security deposit when the security deposit is refunded.

Condominium association application fee: $25.00 made payable to Gulfshore Property Management, Inc. along with application form provided after booking by us.
