John and I are true lovers of our amazing city and embrace all that it has to offer. John was born and raised in Chicago, and I am a transplant of Detroit, MI. As a docent at the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), I have made sure to stock the apartment with wonderful art books for you to enjoy. John, a lover of food and wine, would love to chat with you about all the local dining treasures in Chicago. John loves food so much that in 1994, he opened up his first restaurant called, John's Place, the very place we met. John and I now own 2 restaurants including John's Place in Roscoe Village and the White Oak Tavern & Inn.
Lynn Manilow purchased this apartment in 1999
We purchased this property because of its high ceilings, skyline views, spaciousness and location in Lincoln Park
Why would you ever go anywhere else? This property has it all; spaciousness (all 3200 sq. feet of it), 12 foot ceilings, skyline views, ping pong table, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 fireplaces, coveted location featuring boutiques, restaurants (including White Oak Tavern & Inn just below), theatre and endless other highlights. And...we are really welcoming hosts and would love to make your stay as perfect as possible.
This property is exactly as pictured! It is very spacious with a well equipped kitchen and updated bathrooms (2), nice views and a wonderful location in Chicago. The street has some shops and quite a few good restaurants, including the White Oak Tavern which is owned by the condo owners. It is an older building and there are quite a few stairs (good to know if you have a lot of luggage). The Master Bedroom and bath are on the top floor. It is very comfortable and the owners are incredibly nice and responsive. We had a wonderful time!
This space is great for larger groups. Very spacious and clean. Lynn the owner, was quick with any sort of communication and helpful with checkin/checkout process. She had some nice recommendations for restaurants and things to see. The place is very clean too! Overall, great experience. I would recommend Lynn's apartment to anyone wanting to enjoy the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.
First of all, what a great area of Chicago. Very safe, friendly, tons of good bars and restaurants, close to the train to get you anywhere. The house itself is spacious, well appointed, comfortable beds, etc. We were 6 guys out for a sports weekend (cubs/bears/notre dame football) and the house was ideal. The hosts were great, accommodating, great communication, etc. I can't suggest this place enough.
We went with 3 other couples to have a sports weekend. Cubs on Sunday ( I'm the Cubs fan) and Eagles/ Bears on Monday.
Frankly, the rental exceeded our expectations.
First of all, it is centrally located, with a short uber ride to downtown and a 30 minute walk to Wrigley.
The apartment itself is spacious, with excellent views of a park across the street and the Chicago skyline.
Plenty of room for 8 of us . We especially appreciated the double decks that we could go outside and enjoy the late summer night weather. The apt was well stocked with towels, and items like shampoo etc.
Like the fact that the resturant is right downstairs, and there was a good sports bar and bakery on the same block.
Overall, have no issue recommending this for any group of 6-8 who want a great place to stay in Chicago.
One last thing. I found the owners to be very responsive. From the time we book to leaving. We had one very minor issue where the smoke detectors kept beeping ( old batteries) . We called on a Sun morning, and absolutely no issues. Lynn took our phone call and the problem resolved quickly. It was an example of a excellent rental owner and attention to detail to make sure the guests are taken care of.
I owned a rental property for 10 years, and I tried hard to always please my guests. Lynn suceeded with us
The place is even bigger than the pictures. Huge amounts of space in a prime location. Lynn was a great host.
