Great vacation home

We loved staying here! Great location, comfortably furnished, lots of space for a big group of friends. The rec area upstairs was fantastic. Impressively soundproof, too. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the Loft!

This was the perfect space for our family to enjoy Christmas back home in our old Chicago neighborhood. The 2 story apartment is open and bright, with plenty of room for everyone to relax together or find their own cozy corner to separate from the group. The ping pong table was a great addition, that provided fun competitive family time with our adult children.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal right down stairs at The White Oak Tavern. Well done Lynn & John.

We have booked for next Christmas, which is the best review you can have! Thanks!!

Great Property!

Great property with plenty of space for everyone to stay in. Was very clean and comfortable. Great location within walking distance to the zoo. Lynn was very accommodating and letting us check in early when our party was arriving through various times during the day.

wonderful choice

This was our second time staying at Lynn's place. As a frequent user of VRBOs, I can attest that this apartment is a good value. We have gathered our family there for 2 weddings and have been very happy each time. It is a very spacious apartment with lots of light and nice views of the Chicago skyline from the top floor. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed. The neighborhood is safe and walkable and is just a block or two from Depaul University. It is an area of classic Chicago brownstones and small shops and is near enough to walk to restaurants, groceries, and other commercial areas. Lynn owns the restaurant downstairs and the food is quite good. Lynn is easy to work with and responsive if issues do arise. Be aware that this is a walk up unit so it might be problematic if someone in your party has a significant mobility impairment.

Great space for family and friends!!!

Loved it! Two common areas so kids can have their space and adults their own! Lots of bedrooms. Great neighborhood - close to downtown on the transit but local area felt like Brooklyn with local shops and restaurants. Awesome brunch and didn’t have to wait! And on a cold night we decided to eat downstairs at White Oak Tavern - super convenient (didn’t even need to put on our jackets), good food - hearty but also inspired - and same for the cocktails! Kids ate too and then ran back upstairs. And hit the bakery of course! Also went up to Lakeshore Fitness twice and they have an indoor area converted to a track to get your jog on in addition to weights, etc.

As a docent at the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), I have made sure to stock the apartment with wonderful art books for you to enjoy. John, a lover of food and wine, would love to chat with you about all the local dining treasures in Chicago. John loves food so much that in 1994, he opened up his first restaurant called, John's Place, the very place we met. John and I now own 2 restaurants including John's Place in Roscoe Village and the White Oak Tavern & Inn.
