About Lynn Manilow

John and I are true lovers of our amazing city and embrace all that it has to offer. John was born and raised in Chicago, and I am a transplant of Detroit, MI. As a docent at the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), I have made sure to stock the apartment with wonderful art books for you to enjoy. John, a lover of food and wine, would love to chat with you about all the local dining treasures in Chicago. John loves food so much that in 1994, he opened up his first restaurant called, John's Place, the very place we met. John and I now own 2 restaurants including John's Place in Roscoe Village and the White Oak Tavern & Inn.

Lynn Manilow purchased this apartment in 1999

Beautiful apartment

  • 5 of 5

We had a mini family reunion and stayed in this gorgeous apartment. There were 5 adults and 2 children. The apartment is spotless and huge - fully stocked with every convenience. If that wasn't enough, the location among wonderful restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores meant you wouldn't be wanting for anything. We loved the ambience of Lincoln park - beautiful streets with trees and parks, yet it was very easy to get downtown. Perfect! Thanks Lynn and John for everything. P.S.: We ordered dinner from the White Oak Tavern downstairs and had a dinner party our first night. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Wonderful Place!

  • 5 of 5

Celebrated my 50th birthday in Chicago. Visited the Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, and topped it off with a Black Hawks game. This duplex was very clean, well equipped, and had tons of room. I slept in the master bedroom upstairs.....this bed was super comfortable! Located in a very nice neighborhood with many nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. Be sure to do the brunch at the White Oak Tavern downstairs. I had the salmon benedict...not just a few salmon flakes in these eggs benedict..I'm talkin two good size salmon filets! Plus, "Monkey Bread" on the menu too! Seven of us ate here and we were seven happy humans. :) Yes, steep stairs as previously reviewed, but we will definitely like to stay here again!

A Beautiful Place and Excellent Hospitality

  • 5 of 5

The beautiful house is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and was surrounded by great restaurants, shops. There are plenty of free or paid parking options. Our host, John, was very easy to communicate, kind to show us the place when we arrive and provided good recommendations on the neighborhood.

We had a large group of 10 and the place was spacious enough. The house was equipped with everything and we enjoyed the ping pong table on the second floor. It is beautiful with sun coming in from all direction.

Because of the time limit, we didn't get to try the first floor restaurant, but we are hoping to stop by sometime.

Overall, I highly recommend the place to anyone who'd like to enjoy the city in a great neighborhood.

Lovely, huge 2-level apartment

  • 5 of 5

My book club (8 women) stayed here for a weekend. The place is fabulous! The open second floor with the ping-pong table was a nice bonus. The kitchen is large and fully stocked. The neighborhood always felt safe, and we were not bothered by street noise at all. The place was very clean! The only downside was those killer stairs to get to the apartment (two flights of steep stairs) but the climb was worth it. We would definitely stay here again!

A great location in Chicago~

  • 4 of 5

This property is exactly as pictured! It is very spacious with a well equipped kitchen and updated bathrooms (2), nice views and a wonderful location in Chicago. The street has some shops and quite a few good restaurants, including the White Oak Tavern which is owned by the condo owners. It is an older building and there are quite a few stairs (good to know if you have a lot of luggage). The Master Bedroom and bath are on the top floor. It is very comfortable and the owners are incredibly nice and responsive. We had a wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

This space is great for larger groups. Very spacious and clean. Lynn the owner, was quick with any sort of communication and helpful with checkin/checkout process. She had some nice recommendations for restaurants and things to see. The place is very clean too! Overall, great experience. I would recommend Lynn's apartment to anyone wanting to enjoy the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.
