Beautiful villa with a few niggles
We had a wonderful holiday at this villa, it is very conveniently located for what we want from a holiday but there were a few niggles the most important one for us was that one of the doors to the patio area didn't lock and some of the other locks were faulty, we do like to feel secure. Unfortunately for us there had been a flood in the ensuite to the bedroom downstairs which meant we couldn't use it, the barbecue was not working and there was a problem with the cooker. The hot tub also wouldn't reach a temperature that would make it comfortable to use in the evening. These are things we like to use whilst we are away and so did cause us inconvenience, get them sorted and this place would be almost perfect:)

Trains of varying length go by in front of patio (35 to 40 a day) both night & day. You do get use to it (KIND OF).
The amazing view (when no sewer smell or trains) does compensate but not enough.
We were privileged to stay at this villa for 2 weeks in June and it was perfect for our family. Starting with the location - it is a short 5 minute walk down the hill to the train where we took day trips to Cannes, Monaco and even Ventmiglia, Italy. The village where you find the train has everything you need - restaurants, a small grocery store, a produce market, bakery, butcher, wine shop, ice cream shop, pharmacy, etc. -- and is very charming. There are great beaches and beach restaurants within a 5-15 minute walk. The villa itself has gorgeous views from every angle, including the bathtub! This is a hillside home so there are a number of stairs to climb but that just helped us justify all the wonderful wine, cheese, patisserie, etc. The home is beautifully decorated and serene -- while the train does pass during the day, it lasts a matter of seconds and there are automatic shutters on the bedroom windows which kept the noise and light out so we slept wonderfully. The kitchen was well equipped and, along with the bbq, allowed us to cook many of our meals. The pool and spa were greatly enjoyed by our two boys (ages 8 and 11). The only real negatives (which were very minimal) are that communication was a bit of a challenge because we did not speak French and the payment/deposit were required in cash (vs. credit card).
We truly enjoyed our stay at the villa and made wonderful memories here. I would highly recommend this property.
