The apartment has a spacious terrace at the entrance, and the living room leads directly to the large private garden which is located behind the house, at the same level of the apartment. A large patio is furnished with garden furniture, next there is a barbecue, and for children a small wooden house.
From the windows of the house and from the terrace views of the mountains, the forests and the medieval village.
The living room is large and bright, has a lovely fireplace, modern tv, spacious kitchen well equipped. The table is large, with 6 chairs.
A corridor leads to two bedrooms: one double room, with space for a cot, the other has two single beds and if necessary there is room for the cot.
The house was a typical barn done in stone and wood, recently restored respecting the original forms and materials. It has private garden, peaceful place with a charming view on mountains, woods and over the medieval village.
It has two apartments: 2/4 sleeps the one at the ground floor (Apt. Ginestra),
4/6 sleeps with two bedroom at the first floor (Apt. Pervinca). Each independently and with its own private garden.
PARKING: The historic center of Breglia is pedestrian only, access by car for charge/decharge is 30 meters from the house, and a large free public parking is at 100 meters.
If you want to immerse yourself in Italian culture, to find the Italy of the olden days, this is the place to do it: quiet, comfortable base to explore the area, the village (Breglia) is not affected by tourism but at few minutes from the most famous Lake places.
Breglia offers beautiful views, green woods for a refreshingly peaceful and restorative stay. Good place for keen walkers: from Breglia start numerous hiking for all levels of difficulty. Some routes slide into the woods and reach old lake villages, others rising on mountain above the town, with stunning views of Lake Como, Lake Lugano and the Alps. In the apartment you will find all sorts of tourist info.
The house has two gardens: the one in front of the house is reserved for the apartment Ginestra, like a balcony overlooking the medieval village, is fenced and planted with flowers for every season.
Behind the house is a large private garden reserved to the apartment Pervinca: from the living room a door leads directly to the garden, large, fenced, full of flowers and trees.
The restaurant - bar "Breglia" is at 50 metres from the house, it offers good traditional italian food, breakfast service, lunch, dinner.
This is a little medieval village (Breglia, municipality of Plesio), was the birthplace of my ancestors. Restful, surrounded by woods, here we enjoy panoramic walks between woods, along scenich paths, just a few minutes drive from the most famous (also busiest and noisy) places around the lake. To find parking is never a problem here: there is a big space close to the Church square, free and without time limits. The village is also bus served: when I do not want to use the car a good bus service brings me to Menaggio. There is also a good restaurant close to the house: they serve excellent meals with little expense.
The big apartment Pervinca, at the first floor, is spacious and well equipped. It has a wonderful big garden behind the house that we decorated with many varieties of flowers for each season, Japanese maple trees, conifers and fruit trees. There is also a children's playhouse, and a barbecue. In the most sheltered and shady corner I created the 'shade garden' with ferns, blue bells and other flowers that love shade.
Electricity calculated at the end of your stay on consumption € 0.50/kwh (usually one week in Pervinca is around 25-30€)
Gas heating on request (command on/off in the apartment) calculate at the end of your stay on consumption €1.70/h.
Baby bed available on request, without charge:-)
"The apartment was very clean and welcoming and the owner, Lucia, could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay in Breglia, especially the walks, quietness, climate and view (once the rain had cleared the smoke from the air). Our 9 year old son really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and the space that the property offered out in the garden. Thank you Lucia!"
A lovely spot and a fantastic house for a refreshingly peaceful and restorative stay. The house is well equipped, the views from the property and Breglia are beautiful, and for dog-owners it would be hard to imagine a more welcoming or convenient place to stay. Lucia is a mine of information and immediately makes one feel at home. We'd love to come back, and we hope we shall!
"This apartment is the best we have ever vacationed in and we have done much traveling. It is very modern with an Italian flair. It was as clean as could be. The view is magnificent of the mountains and there is a small view of Lake Como from the front porch. The back yard is huge and it slopes up toward the mountain with the forest at the back of the property. There are no neighbors behind it. If you want to immerse yourself in Italian culture, this is the place to do it. If you climb up the slope in the back you see a beautiful view of the lake. The owners are great people. They instructed us on all the sights in the area and provided us with maps and information. Lucia is a tour guide in Bellagio and provides one of the most informed tours we have been on. If we were to return to Lake Como, this is the only place we would stay."

"The apartment was lovely, everything as described in the villa information. Added to this were the little extra touches such as being encouraged to help ourselves to the raspberries, plums and salad growing in the garden. It was lovely to wake in the morning and see the sun rise over the mountains from your bed. The apartment and garden are very secure though it does not feel necessary. Our neighbours were very friendly and the village not obviously affected by tourism. There are no shops in the village but it does have a grocers van which comes a couple of times a week. Lucia the owner tried to do everything she could to help us get the most from our holiday. I would highly recommend the appartment to anyone who wants a quiet, comfortable base to explore the area"
