You really feel your away from it all and a enjoying a totally different lifestyle. Enjoy
The home was built in 1908, and newly remolded. The home is surrounded by perennials.
Large home with a lot of space. Feels like home.
It's like visiting your friends family at the lake....
There are just so many good things to say about this property....
The house itself is charming and in a nice neighborhood. The decor is very tasteful, neat and in good condition. It feels like you are staying at a friendly relative's house rather than in a rental property - a very good "homey" feel. The kitchen is great - with an island as well as a table for a nice dinner with family and friends. The bathrooms are very nice and well maintained. We loved sitting outside out on the porch - but were glad to be able to escape back inside to the air conditioning!!
You have many choices with this house. You could easily hang out and relax the entire time you are there (with a very short walk to a nice park on the lake). If you need to get out - it is an easy drive to the town of White Bear Lake where one can find shops, lakeside bars and dining. There are three or four great places in a row there along the lake - including the VFW which is open to the public and has a great view of the lake with friendly service. Just a bit further away is Stillwater (on the lovely St. Croix river) which is a great place to spend a day.
Finally, the owner was very nice and accommodating. Once we checked in, we received a text making sure that everything was to our liking. She really seemed to care that we were happy with the property. We will definitely return to this house in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Very homey feel with all the needed amenities to feel like home. Clean and modern, yet has the historic character from another era. Highly recommend staying here.
Beautiful home! Host was very congenial! Home had everything we needed for a beautiful restful night! Blessed stay!
Nice house; roomy, clean and well located. The advertised price was almost half of the he actual cost for two elderly couples for 3 nights. There was an additional charge per night per person over 2 + large cleaning fee (VRBO will not allow me to list specific amounts) to remake 2 beds (we were instructed to do the dishes and take out the trash) + a service charge (for what?) + a damage "insurance" (extortion as the alternative was to give them a huge, but refundable, sum + tax. Also, there is no cable TV (only local channels via antenna) and the Roku unit for Netflix and Pandora access provided did not work. The battery operated smoke detectors all started were beeping requiring a midnight hunt to locate them (no easy) and remove the batteries.
Spent first afternoon on the outdoor deck in the fall sunshine. After dinner, we walked the few steps down to Chautauqua Park to take photos of the sun setting over beautiful White Bear Lake. We enjoyed the charm of the big, 100 year old house as well as the modern large kitchen. Only minutes from Stillwater, its location was quick to get to from our twin city homes, and easy to get over to all the fun St Croix happenings. Great place to make memories with family or friends.
We were in this house for 5 nights in early October. This was the quietest neighborhood VRBO rental that we have ever used. The property is as detailed in the VRBO listing and is comfortable and can potentially sleep many more than the two of us.
TV access is quite limited so if there is anything important you want to watch that’s not on the standard network channels, bring a lap top since you’ll need to stream via the Internet.
The owner provided information is quite limited. It would be very helpful to have some info on supermarket locations, restaurant menus and mini-reviews for local eateries included along with the instructions provided on how the property’s systems work.
We would consider staying here again next time we visit the Twin Cities.
|Property Damage Protection||£48|
Lake Shore is at the city park . Renting the home has no liability of anything that could happen at the lake .
Please review insurance and consider insurance for the home and lake.
