My wife and I purchased this property that connects to our larger parcel where we raise cattle, horses and grow crops that feed our animals. The guest house is nessled in amongst some of the largest oak trees in Levy County very peaceful and a great place to relax and do some serious 'front porch sittin' on our huge wrap around porch.
Jami Murphy purchased this farmhouse in 2011
This property is unique because it offers a barn with 4 stalls 3 large turn out areas 2 connected to the barn itself. The large guest house 2500sf comfortably sleeps 6 with plenty of floor room, living room, family room, and dining room. All nesstled under grandaddy oak trees.
What a great relaxing experience in the quaint equestrian town of Williston, FL. Evening fires on the back patio and sunset sitting on the front porch. Sit back and enjoy the scenery of watching beautiful horses grazing and get a chuckle or two watching the black angus cattle. Enjoy the beautiful home and its rich interior decorating. Believe me all the comforts of home can be found inside. My husband and I had a great experience over the holiday season and we were most welcomed by our host and the neighbors. We would definitely come back!
The pictures that are posted on the website are just a snap shot of the property. The Hse is big, comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated & the kitchen is well equipt for preparing meals.
The ranch is serene and we enjoyed watching the cows in the AM and having a class of wine next to the fire pit in the evening. We weren't able to keep a continuous fire since wood was wet due to lots of rain, this time of year.
There's a few restaurants fairly close and an supermarkets, CVS, Walgreens in town of Williston. Really enjoyed our stay here and looking forward to coming back again soon.
Thank you Butch / Jodi for your help!
We stayed in this lovely home for several weeks and it pleasantly exceeded our expectations! The house is very spacious, well appointed and tastefully decorated. We particularly liked the layout of the house, and were thankful for the carport, which kept our car cool during those hot days and kept us dry during those occasional downpours! The separate office space was ideal, and I was able to do my work without interruption. Not only was the house very clean, but the surrounding gardens and farm were kept immaculate. We hope to rent this house again when we come back!
This rental is perfect for those who love or want to experience a country, ranch/farm, peaceful environment. :) The pictures don't do this rental justice. We found it much more beautiful than the pictures could possibly portray. We would wake up to coffee on the back side of the porch and wait for the cattle to be fed, just over the fence about 40' from us. It was fun to watch the cattle run to the feed manger when they heard the farmhand coming with grain. Then we would move around to the front of the porch to watch the horses train at the track across from the front pasture. On the west end of the porch, we gathered about 3 or 4pm each day to soaked up the sun while we watched the horses graze in the pasture & wait for the beautiful sunsets. How peaceful! Being country folk ourselves, we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Even our dog became friends with the cattle and horses. Although we spent most of our time outdoors, the house was clean, beautifully decorated and nicely furnished. Because husband is wheelchair bound we wanted to comment on accessibility; so **FYI for wheelchair users**: 1) if you cannot stand to transfer or unless you have good upper body strength to lift, beds are quite high 2) master shower has seats molded into the back corners of the shower (no drop down seating), & also has glass doors to navigate around to get to seating from wheelchair 3) ramp to get into the house is a little steep, so you will need good upper body strength or someone to help push unless you have a power chair and 4) you will need to manage about a 6-8" drop down (and back up) onto the porch from either the front or back door (we took a set of portable ramps). Otherwise, this house has a nice open, all wood, floor plan for easy wheelchair maneuvering. Upon moving a couple chairs, this place became home for a month. We hope to visit again next winter! 5* all the way!
I had the opportunity of spending my vacation in this home. I found this rental property to be not only beautiful, but everything we were looking for in a vacation home. It was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by country charm. We enjoyed our relaxing mornings out on the wrap-around porch drinking coffee. In our evenings we would unwind by the fire pit with a glass of wine. Next visit we are sure to bring our horses!! Its location lends itself to day trips to Orlando, Ocala, Gainesville, and the Gulf Coast. We highly recommend this vacation home to anyone who loves the country and still likes the excitement of the city.
plenty of natural springs in the area for diving, and minutes away from trail heads for horseback riding. We are 3 miles from the historical Ivy House restaurant. smack dab in the middle of peanut country home to the Williston Peanut Festival the first week in October.
