This adorable, 2-story carriage house is about 700 square feet, and has an open floor plan with the living room and kitchen downstairs, and a large queen bedroom with one full bath (tub/shower) upstairs. There is an optional twin bed available in the same bedroom for an extra charge. The kitchen is stocked with an array of continental breakfast items for you to prepare at your leisure. Parking for one car is included, as well as cable TV and high speed internet access. The interior has traditional, Old World furniture and décor. This property is located in the very desirable “South of Broad Street” area in the historic district of downtown Charleston, but it is on a quiet residential street. You can walk to many wonderful shops, restaurants and galleries. The property has a lovely garden for you to enjoy. The tax rate on this property is 4%.

There is also a twin bed available for a third person with a daily $25 fee.

Great Location and Wonderful Hosts

My husband and I come to Charleston for the beautiful city and the amazing countryside. Becky and Bill's place is perfect for both. It is walking distance to everything in town and the parking space is perfect for our excursions.

The space is really well decorated, comfortable and functional. They have artifacts from the original space and a binder that details it all. The outside space is elegant but welcoming. We had a great time watching the squirrels gather pecans from the yard. And, a morning newspaper was just too sweet.

Becky, Bill and their family could not have been nicer. We were lucky enough to meet 3 generations. They know just the right amount of attention that their guests need. Becky loves to bake and shares a different yummy treat each day.

They had great suggestions for dining!

I would definitely recommend.

The accommodations and location were perfect!!

It was a charming house with a private entrance into a kitchen and living area with an upstairs bedroom and bath. The owners made us feel so welcome with their special touches - allowing us to park in driveway (rather than side street), a continental breakfast (including some homemade items), fresh towels, daily newspaper at our doorstep and so many other personal touches. We were walking distance to shopping and dining so really didn't use the car much. We will definitely stay there again!!

Excellent location and accomodations

My wife, daughter, and I stayed at this wonderful place and had an great experience. If you enjoy walking, the location is perfectly situated in the heart of Charleston. Otherwise, it is an easy drive to surrounding beaches, islands, landmarks. The home is well furnished with plenty of clean towels, toiletries, kitchen items, local books & guides, etc. The continental breakfast was a great way to start the day, especially the home baked scones and cakes. The gardens were beautiful and enjoyable to relax in after a long day exploring this fine city. The hosts were very gracious and available for any questions we had or for just good conversation. Southern hospitality at its finest!

The perfect Charleston retreat

Two friends and I met up to celebrate a birthday, and we stayed in this lovely retreat. It's not a large space, but it has everything you need, the location can't be beat (you can walk to everything in the historic district), it is very clean and nicely decorated, the courtyard is gorgeous, and the owners are lovely. We did pay for the extra twin bed, and we were very comfortable. So for 2 - 3 people who are comfortable sharing a room and bath, it's perfect. We would definitely do it again. Thanks to the owners for their wonderful hospitality!

Southern Hospitality

Fantastic location for walking around Charleston. Add the proprietors and you have a perfect vacation. The daily pastries starts the day. Will definitely stay there again.

The Best!

My husband and I visit Charleston at least once a year. We have previously stayed in a noted bed and breakfast, but they had no vacancy during this trip. We truly regret that its taken us so long to find 6 Orange Street. It was perfect. The charming and private carriage house is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Although historic, it was tastefully updated to include excellent air conditioning and a bright, pretty bathroom. We enjoyed the beautiful garden with gorgeous blooming hydrangeas during our stay. It was the perfect peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the delicious breakfast treats at our leisure. A special pastry, coffee cake or muffins appeared fresh each day along with fresh fruit. The kitchen is well stocked and includes cereal, eggs, milk, juice and coffee. I could go on and on, but this place is the real deal. Six Orange Street is great, but what makes this place so exceptional is the owners. They are the PERFECT host and hostess. We can't wait to return!
