We have just returned from a month long stay at this FUN Hudson property. It was everything it was advertised to be, and more! What I will miss the most is walking up the stairs in the morning and seeing the gorgeous morning view of the gulf from the expansive 'wall of windows'. The view of the sunsets in the evening from the second level deck was awesome. The house had everything you could possibly want in a vacation home. We enjoyed the fish jumping in the canal, the quiet streets for dog walking, listening to the live music while sitting on our deck, sun-worshipping from the large concrete deck, the short walk to the Get Hooked restaurant/bar, the friendly people, the attentiveness from the Port Hudson Marina personnel, and the availability of Rafael to respond to any questions. We had several friends join us for visits and everyone's re-action was the same - 'This house is amazing'. Everyone quickly adjusted to the sleeping arrangements in the house, which are a little unique, and no one wanted to leave. There was plenty of beds, linens, towels and toiletries for a large group. Really, all you have to bring is your clothing and the desire to enjoy your time there. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home ( I say 'home' instead of 'house' as you can just feel the love that went into decorating this residence ). We look forward to returning next year! Thank you!
Booked this home week of Christmas..Total of 4 teens and 4 adults LOTS of fun Able to rent kayaks from Port Hudson Marina and fish of dock at the house The marina also helped with trash pick up Large house, plenty of space Owner great to work with Bar and pool table a huge hit! Outdoor upstairs deck beautiful at night ..Loads of towels/linens/dishes ect 2 bikes, fishing rod, grill available . The upstairs of the home has a whole other sitting area that was a surprise to us...not shown in the pics Great house for 2 families
My husband and I rented this home for a family vacation....which included our 6 children between the ages of 12-26 and our two daughters-in-law and son-in-law. This home, by far, exceeded our expectations. First of all, it's huge. The game room/bar area is beyond amazing. So many things to do here....shoot pool, ping pong, darts, pinball, poker table...there's even a wii game and I can't forget about al the neon signs . Needless to say, a lot of time was spent in the game room. We spent just as much time outside fishing and bike riding. This house is fully stocked with everything....they have bikes, life jackets, a grill, there are tons of big, fluffy bath towels, blankets, there was detergent, fabric softener, toilet paper....etc...my husband says you just need to show up with clothes....everything else is here. The fully stocked kitchen is upstairs, which I loved. The view of the gulf is amazing. My favorite place was the upstairs balcony, just so perfect and peaceful sitting there, drinking coffee and watching all kinds of birds. We saw Dolphins several times....the kids caught a lot of fish and blue crabs. We did take a short drive to Clearwater and St. Petersburg to visit the beaches. But we spent the majority of our time at the house, no one wanted to leave. Hudson Beach has beautiful sunsets...there's a great little ice cream shop down the road. The Inn on the Gulf has great seafood there in Hudson. Rafael, the owner, was great. He was spot on when he told us we wouldn't be disappointed. He was easy to reach...answered emails, texts and phone calls very quickly. The day we had to leave we were all sad....to say we had a great time in this home is an understatement. We absolutely plan on returning to this home....the 17 hr. drive from Texas is well worth it ...we enjoyed our week here very much. Being able to bring our dogs was a bonus. I could go on an on, but you truly need to come stay here and experience it for yourself. Thank you Rafael for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
We enjoyed a week at this amazing house with two families. We had 4 adults and 5 kids with an age range of 11-18. The game room and bar gave us so many entertainment options that didn't require us to spend money every night on activities. The canal gave us opportunities for fishing and kayaking with great views. The kids wished for a pool or better beach access, but we just had to plan our excursions for that and the distance was reasonable. Rafael was very accomodating and introduced us to the staff at the nearby marina and restaurant. The layout of the house is unique, but there is plenty of space for everyone. We would definitely return!
We rented for a week for my sons spring break. The house was perfect! Lots to do at the house and in Hudson. There was a great restaurant bar a block away. We rode bikes and they brought a bike for my son to use. I loved drinking coffee and bird watching from the back patio. Such a great place!
Pernsonally, I thought the house was a thousand times better than the photos. We had friends over for cocktails one evening and women AND the men raved about the decorating. I took photos of much of the house to use as inspiration. The kitchen is huge and everyone can partake in meal preparation. We loved the second floor balcony to watch the birds settle in at sunset and start their day in the morning. We saw a bald eagle, roseate spoonbills, and many other water fowl. In the canal we had a mother manatee with her baby, and a huge river otter. It is illegal to pet manatees, but we all flopped on our belly on the dock to pet her. She is well known to the homeowners on the canals and very comfortable around humans. In the gulf opening to Cow Creek we had a mom and baby dolphin; never did catch up to them with the kayak! While there is not much to do in Hudson, there are tons of things to do from Crystal River down to St Pete. I left tons of travel brochures for all of you that visit after me! :)
