Traditional cycladic house, very quiet, wonderfully decorated, magnificent view to the sea, to the village, to the valley of Aegiali. Magic atmosphere, positively charged. The island of deep blue, with unique sandy or peddly beaches and archaeological sites of great interest. Tasty cuisine with local products (fish, meat, vegetables)
As my origin is from Amorgos I've been enjoying my summers with my amorgian family since my birth.I love this island and its local people so I decided to offer my hospitality to guests who are interested in exploring this fantastic place with a history of 5.000 years.I love clean, authentic and well decorated places with material from the sea and the mountains, which I 've done in my villa. I also love cooking with local products, walking , fishing and travelling. As I have travelled a lot around the world I love being helped to be well installed and exploring places not written in the tourist guidebooks. That's why I like to offer help and guidance to my guests to experience unforgettable holidays visiting hidden places and experiencing the local customs, food and celebrations.
This property is located on the upper part of an amazing village which offers the guests breathtaking view to the aegian sea, the valley of Aegiali and the other villages ,gorgeous sunsets , peace and quiet, images of the past life, fantastic food and the opportunity to explore hidden treasures if you are willing to walk through its famous paths.
The fantastic view from the terrace or from inside the house makes guests not to want to leave it as they enjoy their breakfast and sunbathing in the morning or having a glass of wine in the afternoon watching the goorgeous sunset.
We have just returned home from 2 weeks in Eva’s apartment in the village of Tholaria on Amorgos. What a superb holiday! (arrived 31 Aug, left 15 Sept 2015)
Eva was extremely welcoming. She met us at the port when our ferry arrived from Naxos at 19:20hr (Express Skopelitis – Small Cyclades Line), and took us to the port when we left on the 06:55hr Blue Star ferry to Piraeus. She was very friendly, helpful and attentive, and her advice greatly helped us in exploring the island. She also baked us both delicious cake and cheese pastries while we were there! Thank you Eva
The apartment is located in the heart of Tholaria which is a very traditional Greek village in every sense of the word, with plenty of white and blue paint, and very narrow streets; no cars but always donkeys. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from the village parking area, so be prepared to climb lots of shallow white steps!
The apartment is elegant and beautifully decorated. It has a very large living/dining room that is well equipped and very comfortable. The balcony is fantastic, with an amazing view down to the port of Aegiali. The furniture on the balcony is both comfortable and plentiful, and just right for relaxing and admiring the view. The big double bedroom is beautifully furnished and has a feeling of calm about it. There is also plenty of hanging space and drawer space, which is often lacking in Greek apartments and studios. Finally, the bathroom has shower, wash basin and toilet, and is also equipped with a cupboard for storing belongings.
Amorgos is a refreshingly quiet and simple island. It’s a reminder of how Greek islands used to be 40 years ago. The town beach in Aegiali is absolutely superb – it’s a long arc of soft sand stretching from the port to the opposite side of the bay. The island lends itself to both relaxing on a beach and walking along the many marked paths, and you can finish each day by eating at the many tavernas in both Tholaria or Aegiali. We were pleasantly surprised by the brilliant bus service that enables you to easily travel around the island (buy your tickets on each bus – prices are very reasonable – 1.60 Euros from Aegiali to Tholaria).
An excellent holiday.
"What a marvellous week we spent in this apartment.
It's elegant, well-equipped and very comfortable. The terrace is fantastic, we could spend happy hours just admiring the view.
Amorgos is a refreshingly calm and simple island. You can beach, you can visit, you can walk ... and you can eat and drink in good company in fine welcoming tavernas.
Eva could not have been more welcoming. She arranged everything smoothly at short notice (although she had not originally planned to be on Amorgos that week, she came back from Athens to help us out). She was very helpful and attentive, and her advice and hints greatly helped us in exploring the island.
Downsides? None. We'll be back"
"The studio is located in the heart of traditional Tholaria. No cars but sometimes donkeys. There are 10 mn walk from the parking. Newly furnished and decorated with taste, there is a gorgeous view on the bay of Aegiali from the veranda. Our hostress Eva is simply marvellous. Her delicate sens of hospitality rendered our stay a wonder.
We can only recommand wormly this accomodation for happy holidays."
"The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need - even Greek CDs for the CD player. The view is gorgeous, the shadings for the terrace are also there. The place is absolutely quiet and relaxing. Even the best beach of the island is close by. Thanks again to Evagelia for our great time we had in Tholaria. We are coming again for sure..."

Take the normal boat or high speed from Piraeus port near Athens to Aegiali port or Katapola port in Amorgos. From both ports, there is a bus or taxi to Tholaria. Possibility to rent car or scooter.
Don't miss the highlights of Amorgos which is the BYZANTINE MONASTERY OF PANAGIA CHOZOVIOTISSA, an unforgetable site with breathtaking view. Don't forget to walk along the so many paths leading to isolated sandy or peddly beaches, some ideal for nudism. Keep in your hearts the light of the sun, of the stars, the wonderful blue of the sky and the sea, the green-blue transparent and clear water of the beaches and the white of the wonderful houses of Amorgos. Amorgos is also known all over the world for its delicious gastronomy of patatato, saganaki lobster, fresh fish, fruit of the sea, fava, rakomelo, psimeni raki, famous olive oil, lamb and pork, all grown in Amorgos.
