Why Jacquie C. Walker chose Zona Centro

I chose this property because of the great location and because the casitas are lare, roomy and well decorated. And the neighborhood is safe.

What makes this apartment unique

I stayed in a place in San Miguel in 2012 and I loved t. Then I moved here and found this property and decided to buy it because it was exactly like the one I stayed in , only better.

Wonderful Property in a Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

We really loved this place. So nicely furnished and comfortable. It's clean, well appointed and beautifully decorated and in a perfect location. Whether you want to shop, tour, or eat delicious food, you can walk everywhere without any problem. Loved the rooftop terrace and had our morning coffee up there every day. Jacquie was responsive from the very start and extremely helpful. She not only suggested the shuttle to take from the airport (very reasonably priced), she provided the website and phone number, then had me confirm that we were all set. I will plan to stay here the next time I visit, and highly recommend it for anyone planning a visit...long weekend or extended.

A good stay in San Miguel

  • 5 of 5

I had five nights in San Miguel recently and stayed at Jacquies downstairs apartment. It was very comfortable, fully equipped, and fantastic location, close enough to the center of town for an easy walk, the fact it was a few blocks out was a bit more quiet than other locations. Cooked several meals in the apartment and was very comfortable to come back to after day out of town. Would certainly stay again. Only downside was some barking from neighborhood dogs, but that's what you get when you stay in Mexico!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the nice comments. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. We strive hard to make our rentals a graet place and nice comments lke this makes all the hard work worthwhile. You were a great guest....a pleasure to have stay with us. It is true about barking dgs....and roosters. But the dogs only bark periodically and there is not much that can be done, expecially in Mexico! If a guest has a problem with it, we speak to the owner and he makes sure they are quiet.......Best, Jacquie

Wonderful, Comfortable, Convenient Apartment for Two

  • 5 of 5

The rooms were large, bright and airy, with high ceilings and beautifully decorated with Mexican arts and crafts. It was perfect for our needs.

On the few days in January that were cold and nasty, the high quality, nearly new heaters throughout the apartment kept us warm and cozy.

The apartment is ideally located. It is a few steps from the artisans market, about two short, fairly level blocks from the Bibliotheca, Juan’s Cafe, and the many other shops and restaurants on Insurgentes. It’s only about five blocks to the Jardin, with the amazing Parroquia, the great people watching, and the many colorful and entertaining celebrations. It’s even a pleasant walk to the Parque Juarez to the south and to the Fabrica Aurora to the north.

The owner, Jacquie, and the housekeeper, Gabriela. we’re absolutely wonderful. We liked it so much we’ve already reserved it for next year.

Good Location; In Your Face Owner

  • 1 of 5

Clean, convenient street level apt but BEWARE. Owner quick to make untrue accusations via VRBO email communication. She blamed us for plumbing malfunctions resulting in no water for the upstairs rental and that the plumbing bill would be charged against our refund. (According to upstairs renters we did 5-6 loads of laundry the morning of the "no water" problem when in fact we had done 1 load the day before and run the dryer for an hour and fifteen minutes the following morning at 8 AM.) In order to straighten this out I had to call owner with the facts at which time the owner told me that 8 AM was too early to dry clothes! After hearing me out, she admitted to having taken the upstair renter exaggerations as facts. An unpleasant interruption to our vacation and a delayed (full) refund. Would not rent there again.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry that this guest took my inquiry about the complete loss of water in the apartments as blaming her. The tenants above her reported to me that they heard them doing laundry at 6AM and that the laundry was continuous until noon time and thought that was why the building was out of, of course I asked her about it. Not accusing her at all, but telling them what the tenants told me. I did not tell her that I took the upstairs tenants accusations as facts but told her that they heard all the noise from the machines. I told her that the laundry facilities are for doing some light laundry and not 5-6 loads. The guests upstairs had just arrived the day before so i kew they had no laundry to do, but the guests downstairs had been there for a week..... ( Why would the guests upstairs make up story?)I took her word for it when she denied doing that much laundry and that was the end of it. Running the dryer and the washing machine at 8AM is too early for a vacation rental building as other tenants can hear all the noise from the machines)This was a serious situation as there was no water pressure in the building and in Mexico there are water storage tanks, that apparently went dry, which could happen if someone was doing 5-6 loads of laundry at one time. As to her security deposit, it was returned at 10 days. If it took longer, it was because it had to go through VRBO, back into her charge card....which is something I have no control over. We try our very best to work with guests if there is a problem. No water in our building is a serious situation and I was acting on what the tenants on the second floor(the apartment directly above this guest) reported to me. I was very congenial towards this guest, and complimented her on the excellent way she left the apartment. It is unfortunate that she could not understand or accept the reason why I was contacting her about the situation......I think an inquiry about another guest's comments is hardly a big interruption and a one star rating. Please refer to all the other 4-5 star ratings and be advised that on AirBnB I am rated as a Super Host.
