Magnificient holiday in Lugnano in Terverina
We spend a fantastic holiday at Villa dei Cipressi. Being a family of 11 with 3 generations undre the same roof we had a lovely stay. The house is well equipped and very tastefully decorated. We all enjoyed the pool area and the outdoor kitchen facilities. Lugnano is a beautiful little hilltop village with a pizza restaurant with fantastic pizzas.
Within an hours drive it is possible to visit many towns of interests and it is possible to river rafte near Cascade della Mamore, which was great fun. The owner is very friendly and helpfull.
Thank you for your kind and complete review.
I hope that three generations of your family will return to Villa dei Cipressi in the near future.
Thanks and kind regards,

"Villa dei Cipressi was according the info we got. Our team was 8 adults and one baby 10 months old. There were space more than enough for our purposes. The villa was recently renovated with good taste, interior was ful of antiques, but all modern equipments were available, satellite TV, internet, modern kitchen, washing mashines and so on...
Villa is situated in small village with all necessary services. Surroundings were very peaceful, the villa was nicely isolatetd the other neighbours. Swiming pool, volleyboll, petanque, barbecue and poool were good and in everyday use for all of us.
The access of villa was very easy. It took only a bit more than one hour from airport of Rome.
Weather during week 41 was good, temperature 25 -31 degrees and no rain.
I will warmly recommend Villa dei Cipressi for all who need space, privacy and relaxing villa near all basic services in nice landscape."
Perfect location for your holiday
Salvatore and Stefania's property has everything you could want for a perfect holiday, they have thought of everything.
The house was beautiful, spotlessly clean and well equipped (even down to toiletries in the bathrooms and a welcome food pack).
The garden and pool area were immaculate. There are several seating areas (most with lovely views of the town) and 2 outdoor fridges for keeping drinks nice and cold.
An unexpected bonus was a vegetable patch, the tomatoes were delicious and plentiful.
The town itself is very pretty. It has a butchers, bakers, pharmacy, bar and tasty pizzeria and two small supermarkets, plus a public pool. Everyone was very friendly.
It was a great base from which to explore the area. There is a train station 10kms away, we used this for day trips to Rome.
We were a party of 11 (adults and children) and there was plenty of room for us to all relax. Could not recommend it highly enough.

Villa dei Cipressi is situated on the outskirts of the medieval hill town of Lugnano in Teverina, on the border of the regions of Lazio and Umbria. It lies 95 km, or one hour, north of the country's capital, Rome, and only 10 kms. from the A1 Autostrada (the main north-south toll road from Naples to Milano via Rome, Florence and Bologna). Exit the A1 Autostrade in Attigliano and follow the directions for Lugnano. Villa dei Cipressi is located near three major airports: Fiumicino Airport, Rome's international airport (120 km); and Ciampino Airport (120 km) and Perugia Airport (90 km), both serviced by a number of low-cost airlines including RyanAir. Cars can be rented at all three airports. Termini, Rome's main train station, is a one-hour train ride from Attigliano, located at only 10 kms. from the villa on Italy's main north-south railroad.
Umbria, the "green heart" of Italy, will surprise visitors with its unique blend of nature, history, culture and cuisine. The area, unspoilt by mass tourism, offers a wide range of possibilities for holiday makers. The green hills of Umbria are dotted with pittoresque medieval villages, of which many have changed very little over the centuries. Not to be missed are the charming little towns of Amelia, Narni, Giove, Todi, ... and of course the better-know cities of Perugia, Orvieto, Assisi and Spoleto, to name but a few. Nature lovers must see the lakes of Bolsena and Piediluco, the Oasis of Alviano, the fossil forest of Dunnaroba or the waterfalls of Marmore, the highest waterfalls of Europe. Those interested in Roman or Etruscan history should visit the ruins of Otriculum, Carsulae, Tuscania, Tarquinia and Volci. The region boasts a number of natural spas, including the Bulicame sulphur springs near Viterbo, described in Dante's "Inferno". Antique lovers should not miss the national antique show, hosted each year in Viterbo's papal palace. A trip to Umbria would not be complete without enjoying its cuisine. Excellent food and wine are just as much a part of the region's charm as its forests, frescoes, and castles. Wine and olive oil, the two absolute protagonists of Umbrian cuisine dating back to the Umbrians and the Etruscans, have modelled the landscape into a characteristic succession of vineyards and olive groves. Visitors can tour the region's many vineries, following for example the "Strada dei Vini Etrusco".
