Staying true to the pre-war period when the house was built, there is plenty of woodwork, and an old fashioned 3 season sun porch. The house is decorated with a nod towards this era, but extremely fast WiFi and Roku streaming television and movies bring modern convenience to your getaway. Utilities, kitchenware and linens are ready in this cottage for a perfect sanctuary for 1 or 2, but will sleep up to 4. The master suite has a queen sized memory foam bed, features skylights for stargazing from your pillows, (with a shade if you want to sleep in) a luxurious extra long, deep soaking tub, and a walk in closet. The downstairs bedroom has a full sized memory foam bed, and the great room has a queen sized sleeper sofa. The large kitchen, comfortable great room and stone patio make this cheerful, cozy home a terrific Northern Dutchess/Columbia County NY destination. Delightful and warm for long weekends and ski season.
Close to NYS Route 22, I-90 and the Taconic State Parkway as well as both the Metro North and Amtrak train lines.
It's on one of the prettiest roads in the Northeast. Private, and close to many Hudson Valley points of interest. Located in the tri-state corner of NY, MA & CT, so you can get a lot in during a short drive!
This house is renovated to modern standards, yet holds it's 1930's/40's character. The wood work is beautiful!
We stayed here for a last minute getaway weekend, I wish it could have been longer. Beth and Mark were welcoming and very thoughtful. The house is immaculate and comfortable, I love all the woodwork. I like to cook and had everything I needed in the kitchen. We hiked at Bash Bish Falls and in Taconic State Park and enjoyed relaxing at the house afterwards with a campfire next to the brook. I'd love to see the gardens in bloom in summer but we were very happy to be there to enjoy the fall foliage. I recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful stay.
We had such a lovely stay at the cottage. The grounds were just right for lazy lounging. We took advantage of that after our hikes at the nearby trails. The gardens are beautiful and set in very natural environment. The stream peaceful. Best of all- the amenities of the home. The home was super clean and had all sorts of small touches that just made you smile. We cooked dinner on the BBQ, ate outside among the gardens, slept on the hammock, played cards in the sunroom. The kitchen had everything for our comfort. Can't wait to get back to the cottage!!
My husband and I were very happy to find this lovely, quaint home which has been lovingly restored and updated to stay in for a much needed restful weekend. We already knew this wonderful tri-corner region of New York, with its rolling green foothills, beautiful waterfall, hiking trails, and golf. Beth and Mark have gorgeous gardens, popping with colorful perennials, and a meandering stream, to nap by in comfy hammocks. Thoughtful treats from the local dairy and yummy cookies welcomed us and were much appreciated! A home for all seasons, we were happy to find such a comfortable, private property to get away to. Thank you Beth, for everything!
This was a beautiful property that had everything we needed for our stay. The owners greeted us on arrival and showed us around the 2 acre property with a running stream. They went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location was fantastic an close to many places for enjoyment and shopping. The house was recently renovated and very appealing. We would defiantly plan to stay there again probably for a longer amount of time to relax and unwind.
We stayed here in mid-April. The house is great -- the pictures show it accurately. The owner met us when we arrived, to show us around. Beth is very friendly and generous -- she told us many times to just use whatever we need for a great weekend. She returned the deposit to our account very quickly. The flower gardens look very extensive -- we were there too early to see much but sprouts, but I really want to go back and see it in full bloom. We loved the stream -- we sat by it several times to read and relax. Be sure to check out the dairy farm just a bit up the road -- their ice cream really is amazing. We definitely plan to come back.
When staying in a remote location in the middle of winter, warmth and comfort are of the highest priority. We found both at Boston Corners. Record lows were reached, yet this quaint home remained toasty and accommodating.
Not only did we get a fresh baked pie, but a bonus of farm fresh milk. In the cupboard were plenty of goods if we were to be snowed in, and a working internet kept us connected.
This home lodged four men and could hold more with their own pads/mats. We cooked hearty meals in the kitchen, consumed them at the dining table, adjourned to the living room for chat, and enjoyed sipping rum and whiskey with our books before retiring.
I can't imagine this house not meeting anyone's needs.
Very close to Catamount Ski Area in Hillsdale, NY and around the corner from Berkshire activities. Located in the Hudson Valley, this is a great spot to visit the FDR presidential library, Val Kill, and the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site. The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is close by as is Olana, Omi Arts Center and the Edna St. Vincent Millay home and Arts Colony Steepletop.
