We are B&B, Barb and Bob. We live in St. Augustine and we love Vilano and Sea Blast.
Barb purchased this house in 2014
We love the Vilano area of St. Augustine because there is so much to do and we don't need to drive. The leashed dog can take a swim anywhere. We walk to the pier and he swims while we sit at the bar at Beaches and watch the sunset.

We first stayed at Sea Blast with our adult children and two young grandchildren last year during the Christmas holidays, and we had such a great time that we returned for this year's holidays. The layout of the house works well for our family, with separate space for our son and his family downstairs where the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The door at the top of the stairs kept the two-year-old from wandering. Just as it was last year, the house was clean, bright, and very well equipped, with everything was in good working order. We love the convenient location, just a couple of blocks from a nice public beach and a Publix grocery store, and a short drive to St. Augustine. Good restaurants are nearby, and we especially liked the pizza at the 180 Vilano Grill. Barb is always friendly and responsive, and we appreciate the way she worked with us to resolve an issue (our fault) that occurred at our departure. She went to great lengths to help, which shows the kind of service she provides. Many thanks, Barb!
This house worked well in many ways for our family gathering:
--the owners were very receptive to our inquiries before and during our stay
--the house was clean, well stocked and the layout worked well. Our son and his family (with 2 little girls) had the downstairs (2 bedrooms, shower, and sitting room) to themselves which worked great for naptimes and early bedtimes. (Two bedrooms, 1-1/2 baths upstairs)
--spent most of house time on the upstairs deck, enjoying the balmy weather.
--house location was very good -- about 2 blocks from Publix grocery store, about 4 blocks from beach where 2 yr old wanted to go at least 2x's each day. Short drive over the bridge (about 5 minutes depending on traffic) took us into St Augustine central. Near enough but far enough.
--couples massages at Small Indulgences -- both couples praised their masseurs
--downsides were few and not associated with house but totally with popularity of St Augustine over winter holiday -- the good news-bad news story -- lots of fun things going on but made mistake of driving downtown to see St Augustine lights display on Christmas Eve. Ergh. Too much traffic. Too many people. Too much for us. Fortunately the lights run for several weeks so if your group is crowd adverse avoid peak times to see the lights (free), tour the Fort($), or visit the Gator Farm ($$$ ouch be prepared). Vilano Beach area (where house is located) does not have that crowded craziness. Best for us to spend the 24th, 25th and 26th at house, or on beach, enjoying family time. However, this may be an age-thing -- our 26-yr old daughter and husband had no qualms about diving right in to that downtown crowd on Christmas Eve, surfacing several hours later to catch a taxi home. They loved the crowds, walking the streets and having a drink at the Ice Plant Bar.
We loved this house,it has a great feel to it.there is everything you need for a great stay, from bikes, beach chairs, towels. The location is great very near to beaches, supermarket and some great little restaurants. The owner was very helpful. We would recommend this house for family and friends. Very clean and comfortable with plenty of space.
We're a family of six and enjoyed our stay at Sea Blast. There are two indoor lounge areas (upstairs & down), providing space to spread out. The porch is fantastic-- we could hear the ocean and enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chair & glider. We visited in November with cooler temps; we opened the windows until the mosquitoes came inside (few screens). The neighborhood is quiet enough for walks or bikes, and we walked to the grocery daily. St. Augustine is close and easy to explore from Sea Blast cottage. We typically drove to St. Augustine, but once we biked over the bridge and into town. The owners were easy to reach with texts and email, and we had no problems during our stay. I'd recommend this location.
I forgot to include that I enjoyed the paintings displayed in the house; many of them depict St. Augustine landmarks.
Sea Blast was a pleasant surprise as we drove through a surrounding neighborhood still recovering from a hurricane. It was in perfect shape, clean and neat and just what we needed for a few days of relaxation. The area around was a little rough with debris still piled in front of most houses. The beach was just great and a very short walk, the Publix grocery was close and also a nice little bar called Beaches (which had limited hours due to just reopening). All in all, we would go back in a heart beat.
Don't hesitate to reserve this Villano Beach home. The owner really cares & wants you to have a great time & the house is clean, sunny, and there's plenty of room to stretch out, even if there's allot of you. The location can't be beat. You can walk or bike ride to the beach or to Publix for groceries. They're both a few minutes away. Everyone in our family would love to return there some day for a much-longer stay.
