Very large, 900 sq ft, modern luxury apartment in 19th century converted warehouse, on Shad Thames in the historic Butlers Wharf district beside Tower Bridge, 200yds walk to Tower Bridge. Commonly known as 'Mayfair on Thames'. Modern warehouse conversion in the best preserved part of the old London Dockslands. Open plan kitchen, dining, living room 600 sq ft. A 2nd, King size, bed discretely placed in large sitting room, makes flat ideal for family or 2 couples sharing. The bed for the fifth guest is a folding bed suitable only for children up to 12 years of age. Perfect for business visitors to the City, 20 minute walk away, or sightseers. Great alternative to luxury hotels nearby at more than £250 per night! Tower of London & Borough Market 10 mins walk and all of the attractions of the South Bank within easy walking distance and West End 15 mins Tube/metro ride away. Tate Modern , Shakespeare's Globe theatre and Saint Paul's cathedral 30 mins walk along the river bank, beyond that is the South Bank theatre, concert and arts complex, followed by the West End.

The apartment resides in a quiet residential apartment block, not an hotel. To respect the conviviality of the residence and it's tranquility, we are obliged to decline bookings from unaccompanied adults under 30.

It doesn't get better than this

From the first contact Bryan was an amazing communicator and provided valuable information and advice to assist with our London stay. All of my enquiries were answered promptly and the whole process from beginning to end was so easy. The lovely apartment is in a great location, within walking distance to many major attractions and transport. We found some great restaurants and cafes as we leisurely wandered around the local area. Bryan also provided extensive useful information about travelling in France which was extremely helpful and informative. I would highly recommend this amazing apartment and hope to return again in the near future.

Nice Location

Bryan was a great communicator and very professional. A pleasure. The apartment is in a great location near Tower Bridge. Close to restaurants, transportation, and tourist destinations. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We were a family of four travelling with teenagers and this met all of our needs.

One of the top VRBO Rentals we've ever had.

This flat is so perfect it will sound as if the owner were actually writing this review. He is not. My wife and I have traveled to many countries and almost always used VRBO. This flat is one of the top, if not the best, rental we've ever had.

To begin with, Bryan is a very good communicator, promptly responding to emails and requests for information. That is not to be undervalued as renting formally online site is always a leap of faith.

About the flat, wow! I'm not sure where to start. It is spacious. We were just two but this flat could comfortably fit 4 people. It is very well appointed, with everything one needs to take up living there. We were in the flat for 12 days and there was a never a time where what we needed wasn't right there. Everything from a variety of coffee makers to washing machine. The furniture, well, there was plenty of it, it was all comfortable and clean, and the living area is so ample, it was not crowded. A great dining room table. We arrived and the flat was very clean and we immediately at home.

It is light, private, quiet, and the location is so perfect. A grocery store is a two minute walk out the building, any number of dining possibilities are minutes away by foot, the Tower Bridge is a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the building, and public transportation is readily available.

We made use of the rooftop terrace, a great place to have a few glasses of wine before going out, or for just sitting and soaking up the sun (we were very lucky with the weather). Actually, thinking about it, we did have one day of cold and heavy rain but the flat was so nice we didn't mind just laying around and looking out the windows and reading.

Bryan will send you a multi-page guide that deserves attention. He points out several great dining places and where to find some very nice wine. I do like wine but I am also a fan of local craft ales and the UK is really doing a great job producing many great ones.

We wholeheartedly recommend this flat. Thanks, Bryan.

Good Location But Flat Needs Some Repair

Stayed in this flat for a week.

Positives:

-Location - 10 minute walk to the train. Groceries very close. Close to Tower Bridge and a cool area with restaurants.

-Sleeps a family of 5

-No problems with check-in or out. Property Manager easy to contact.

-Nice small balcony overlooking the street. Fun to sit out and watch the foot traffic.

Negatives:

The apartment is in need of a few repairs.

The refrigerator did not have a freezer. It is an older model with the freezer box at the top; however, the box was gone.

The bathroom needs work. The shower head fell off the wall during our first shower. Luckily, we were able to fix it. There has obviously been numerous plumbing problems in the shower; however, rather than fixing the tile that had to be removed to make the repairs, they are just haphazardly screwed back into the wall.

There is only 1 mirror (in the bathroom) in the entire apartment making it nearly impossible for 5 people to get ready at the same time.

An automatic coffee-maker would be nice - they only provided the manual/push kind.

Overall: The location and size is what makes this flat a good option. With a few repairs, it could be wonderful.

Shad Thames is a vibrant and historic area for tourists and residents with over 20 restaurants and riverside bars within 3 minute walk, including some of London's top restaurants, Pont de la Tour, Chophouse and Blueprint Cafe. Easy connections to Heathrow, 60 minutes, Gatwick, 40 minutes, London City, 20 minutes or Stansted, 70 minutes, airports.
