B-R-R-R!! It's cold in Pennsylvania in the winter and that's why Jim and I moved to Florida in 1956 and have never regretted the move. We lived in the Pittsburgh area in a little town named Aliquippa. After raising our family in St. Petersburg and Clearwater, we retired to Ocala and live in the 'Horse Capitol of the World'. I retired from the Pinellas County school system and Jim retired from owning his own scale company. I've always liked looking out over the ocean and enjoying the sun and the breeze so I start looking for a condo near the water. Although I live in Ocala, I really enjoy the two-hour drive to St Augustine Beach where my condo is located.
Lee Anne purchased this condo in 2012
Having family living in St. Augustine and enjoying the history of the oldest city, I found the beautifully landscaped resort of Ocean Gallery. Although my condo is not directly on the beach it is within a short minutes' walk to the boardwalk which is the private gated walkway that takes you to the beautiful white sandy shore of the Atlantic Ocean where I can sit under one of the gazebos or on one of the benches along the walkway. It is so peaceful and relaxing. But if it's fitness you want, take a brisk morning's walk along the ocean's shore and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets or enjoy the many amenities provided including a fitness room at the indoor/outdoor pool area among others. I bought this condo as a 'home away from home' and have enjoyed immensely having my family and friends enjoy it with me. I can sit on the lanai upstairs or downstairs and enjoy looking at the lagoon with its pretty fountain and watch the many birds and turtles who have made it their home too.
It offers 24 hour security which to me is an important feature. The amenities can't be beat. It is newly furnished with a beach theme. It gives me the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Very clean and well kept condo. Everything is in perfect working condition. The owner (Lee Ann) has provided pretty much everything you might possibly need. In addition to the usual pots and pans and dishes you expect, everything else from paper towels to coffee to laundry detergent to a booster seat for our toddler and even beach towels are provided! The check-in process was very easy, and there's a deadbolt on the front door you can customize to your own numeric code so you don't have to worry about carrying around a key. So very convenient. The beach is a short walk away. It took maybe 2 minutes to get from the front door to the beach dunes, and this is while corralling a curious 3-yr old that runs off and explores everything... especially the little lizards darting about the bushes! There's also a closet full of beach toys, chairs, and other beach paraphernalia to use as well.
Lee Ann is very good about communication. An email was often replied within a few hours. I had no worries that if I had an issue during my stay that Lee Ann would be on it in an instant.
We were very happy with this rental. This condo will definitely be our first choice when we return to St. Augustine in the future.
Very clean and had everything you would need. Owner is very sweet. Definitely will stay again.
This cozy townhouse/condo was welcoming right from the start. Upon walking in, the owner's went above and beyond with small welcoming measures such as candies, juices, and a basket of accommodating items. We try to travel when we can and we have to say that it was so nice to feel the love and care that this home has. It is extremely clean. I am very particular about cleanliness. The owner had everything that you could think of needing on a trip. The only thing that we did not like is having to leave. We will be staying again but extending our stay in the future for sure.
Very roomy and comfortable accommodations. Highly recommended
Our family enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo, which was well-supplied, very clean, nicely organized, and tastefully decorated. We would love to return!
My sisters, cousins and I were looking for a place near the beach for a shirt weekend getaway. We found the perfect place. Sand in My Shoes was just steps from the beach and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed, plus lovely extra touches. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy all of the amenities. Thank you, Lee Anne, for making your place available.
Historic St. Augustine is a must see. The oldest continuous city in the USA offers much for the history buff and the shopper. Things that you don't want to miss: Tour Castillo de San Marcos, Fort Matanzas National Monument, Lightner Museum, St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum. Shopping around the historic district offers everything from souvenirs to antiques to arts and crafts to clothing. After a day of visiting the city come back and enjoy the Atlantic Ocean with its beautiful white sandy beaches. St. Augustine offers History & Culture, Music & Art, Night Life, Sightseeing, Shopping and in September, we just celebrated the 450th birthday of St. Augustine. Don't miss a narrated tour in a horse drawn carriage which can be romantic or family fun or the "Red Train" for a Hop-on Hop-off experience. There are guided walking tours, or evening Ghost Tours. Just don't forget to take some of the finest restaurants. The seafood is fresh and restaurants have outdoor seating so you don't miss any of the wonderful Florida sunshine and ocean breeze.
