Guestbook comments from the owner

The spacious and immaculate home at Dun an Oir is modern comforts amidst the magnificent wilderness and Southern Ireland in Kerry.

Easily accessible, this is the place for all lovers of sport (especially golf), calm and space that surround the ocean, the sea and the mountains.

Four adults, we spent a sunny week in May 2kms, minimarket Baillyferriter open every day, including Sunday.

5kms, the picturesque port of Dingle, with its pubs, shops and boat rides offer everything you need to liven up your evenings in an authentic Irish atmosphere.

We also much appreciated the impeccable cleanliness of this beautiful country, the prevailing security (without font!), Well-maintained roads and great, healthy food at affordable prices.

I also want to emphasize the natural friendliness of the Irish, that of our own Kevin! and the pleasure of meeting, here and there, and everywhere priority adorable animals!

Ireland to many other beautiful facets to discover: We'll be back!

Great get-away cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful get-away cottage, well off the beaten Dingle tourist track and away from the crowds, yet convenient enough to anything you want to do on the peninsula, assuming you have a car. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the little village of Ballyferriter had several acceptable pubs and restaurants so we didn't have to drive all the way back into Dingle is we didn't want to cook in the cottage. The furnishings were all above average in quality and condition. Wifi worked well. Never used cable tv so can't comment about that. Would definitely rent the place again if we were making another trip to the area in the near future.

Wonderful stay at a Dun an Oir

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was wonderful and Mr. Doherty's suggestions for local pubs were spot on. The Dingle peninsula is a fantastic locale, even in the rainy weather we had! We are looking forward to our return trip.

English:

In the house we’ve never felt something could miss. Who like to cook or have to wash his clothes, absolutely the entire household is present and was in a very good conditions. The conditions of the sleeping rooms were absolutely clean. We liked it to stay there; the house has a very cozy ambience. Especially the small terrace in green surroundings is also a good place to relax. The holiday house is conveniently located in a western corner. First, it is surrounded by coves and cliffs which open directly to the sea and it is not far from the mountains and the beach. Leisure activities beginning in swimming, relaxing on the beach, hiking and climbing can carry out without any barriers starting from the house. The location is quiet and neighbours are very friendly. The home owner and the local contact person are very friendly and helpful in any kinds of concerns. We have not been difficult for some rest to recharge and can only recommend this lovely house.

wonderful holidays

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Kevins cottage for a week at first week of August and enjoyed it very much. This was our first stay in Ireland. The abidance was really great, the countryside is phantastic – Dingle Peninsula is in our opinion one of the most beautiful areas! And the Irish people are so friendly.

We enjoyed the use of the well equipped kitchen. We slept well in the comfortable beds and had a marvelous time traveling around the Dingle Peninsula.

The house is new and well kept. A very comfortable home with everything you'll need. We shopped many days in the food market in Dingle and enjoyed cooking at home.

This is a beautiful oceanfront home with great views that is just steps away from the sea, nice to walk through fields of sheep and dramatic breath-taking scenery. The location is ideal for visiting the Dingle peninsula and for day trips further afield.

Dingle town was a short 15 minute ride away and there were much nice restaurants and pubs.

Everything was very uncomplicated thanks to Kevin - he managed all perfectly and gave us so many tips in his e-mails before. He also arrenged for us a law priced greenfee rate on the golf course, which is in front of the house.

We look forward to returning and exploring more!
