Their Company, Winsome Tours and Consulting Limited, has earned the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence with over 186 reviews, 95% of which are 5 stars.

Ralph and Julie Richardson purchased this studio in 1987

Why Ralph and Julie Richardson chose Sandys

There are few options for west side ocean front properties. At a half mile from the road, the location is quiet, except for the distant hum of fishing boats passing as they head out to sea and back. As a young couple they spent 10 years with their 4 children as the only family on a 25 Acre Island campsite in Bermuda. They accepted the job as caretakers of a Bermuda Government Campsite so that they could bring up their very young children in a farm environment. The 25 acre island provided that opportunity for 10 years. They often share photos of life on the island as they pass it on their tours. After the island experience, they chose to purchase a house on the waterfront and actually moved via boat to their new home. The children are all out of the house now and they are home alone with occasional visits from their one or two of their 9 grandchildren (soon to be 10). The lower apartment is just right for a couple as it is not large enough for more than two people. Guests love the spot where they can swim, snorkel of kayak from their own back yard. The Apartment has wifi Cable TV. Full standing refrigerator and a stove with oven. The AC is oversized and provides excellent climate control. The list of other amenities can be found on the amenities page on this website.

What makes this studio unique

Price is reasonable in Bermuda at $160 per night ($115 winter rate Jan1-Mar31) with the best views possible - Activities from Property: Kayaking,Snorkeling, Bone fishing (when in season), and a 45 acre public park (with hiking trails trails next door). Julie and Ralph are both qualified Bermuda Tour guides and can answer all of your questions about the island, when you can catch them at home:):).

Like living in a dream!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Wrexford Cottage and being hosted by Ralph and Julie was one of the greatest privileges I have ever had! This was my very first solo traveling experience and I truly could not have picked a better place to stay. Looking back on my experience here, I have to say it still feels like a dream. Ralph greeted me as soon as I arrived and went out of his way to prioritize that I was, not only comfortable and safe, but that I had an amazing time in Bermuda. He even drove me to the grocery store, helped carry in my bags, and had two bus tickets on hand so that I could make my way to Hamilton to buy my bus pass. The ocean front property is so perfect and spectacular it doesn't feel real. To be able to step right into the ocean just a few paces from your door is such a luxury. The apartment itself was just right. Though the door to the space is off of the backyard, I felt that I had complete privacy throughout my trip and kept the door open all day long. I had a wonderful time cooking, reading and listening to music all while enjoying the incredible views and ocean breeze! I even decided to stay in one day just to fully take in the experience of staying at Wrexford. It was truly my own little paradise and I couldn't be more grateful that I chose this place as my Bermudian home for the week. The cherry on top of my already impeccable experience was simply getting to meet Ralph and Julie. They are genuinely amazing people and even if it weren't for the perfect location and super comfortable stay, I would come here again simply to be able to talk to them once more. The forecast for my stay wasn't perfect and since I was alone and had no plans, Ralph was so determined to make sure that I enjoyed Bermuda and was able to see the whole island, he used up almost an entire day of his free time to take me on one of his famous tours completely free of charge! It was such an honor to be shown around by a true local with such a rich knowledge of the island and its history. Ralph and Julie can answer any question about Bermuda that you could possibly dream up and it was so comforting to know I was in such great hands throughout my trip, had I ever needed anything. I can't say enough great things about my stay here and I'll never be able to thank Ralph and Julie enough for all of the kindness they've shown me, but I hope I can at least convince one more person that they MUST stay here too! And definitely call Anthony for all your taxi needs! Sweetest man alive!

What a great experience! Hosts were so helpful in helping us determine our itinerary during our stay. It was a little chilly to really enjoy the water even though it was right out our back door. Will definitely go back one day!

Owner's Response: Thanks ever so much for taking time to write the review. We appreciate that you made the effort to do so. Sorry you just missed the warmest February we could remember. Winter seemed to have come late this year and we are still experiencing a little stormy weather interspersed with beautiful sunny days. April is on the way and it should begin warming up soon. It was delightful having you with us. We love the decision we made to open our lower apartment to visitors. I think what we like to most is to hear how much our guests enjoy the location. What a privilege it is to be able to share it. Thanks again

It is been a wonderful two weeks in this comfortable seaside studio apartment with gracious hosts.

  • 5 of 5

It’s been a marvelous two weeks staying at The seaside Wrexford cottage. You could not wish for more gracious and knowledgeable hosts than Ralph and Julie Richardson. We have learned so much from them about the island and places to go and things to do. As lifelong Bermudians they have a wealth of knowledge about Bermuda's History and current goings on. Kayaking has been one of our joys. The Richardson’s have a tandem kayak for renters use. We went out on6 days. We especially like paddling north to Elys’s Harbor. On the way there is a lovely cove at Wreck Hill that is frequented by Sea Turtles and Parrot fish. One we paddled through the Harbor right under Somerset Bridge. Wrexford cottage is located a convenient 10 to 15 minute hike over the Holland down to Middle Rd. There you will find the Maxi Mart for your grocery needs and the bus stops. We got our bus pass on the first day so we could ride to Dock YArd or out to the beaches. We also took the ferry to Hamilton for shopping, especially Miles Market off Pitts Bay Rd for delicious prepared food. And every night we sit in the Adirondack chairs watching the sunset, a perfect Bermuda Sojourn.

Owner's Response: Hello Chris and Glenna, I must say that we really enjoyed having you as guests. One of the great pleasures we have at this stage is life is the privilege to share our home with visitors. It is especially great when the location is a highlight and people enjoy the swimming and Kayaking along the coast. For some it is just a place to sleep but for you it seemed Wrexford Cottage was that and much more. We would be more than happy to welcome you again some day. We wish you both a happy retirement and long life. Glenna congratulations on your accomplishments and continue what you are doing, it is certainly working. All the very best. Ralph and Julie

Bermuda Getaway Paradise Found!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property fantastic. We met Ralph upon our arrival and he gave us the low down on how everything works. We rented his kayak for the week and while only using is one time it was still worth it. The snorkeling just off the property was good and I even caught a few fish with a tiny fishing rod.

The Maxi-Mart made shopping easy any we ate breakfast and some dinners on the lawn with breathtaking views each time. Parrot fish and turtles would graze right below while we feasted above.

We took the bus and ferries with a weekly pass and Ralph and Julie would always ask if we needed a ride down the hill to the bus station located just outside the Maxi-Mart. They are wonderful hosts and know everything there is to know about the Island. We visited St. George, Hamilton, Dockyard, Horseshoe Beach, Warwick Long Bay, Church Beach, Swizzle Inn, and Tobacco Beach. We went bottom fishing with Baxter's Reef tours on the Ellen B and caught plenty of fish for 3 meals.

Totally awesome location to spend a week in Bermuda where we celebrated 25 yr Wedding Anniversary.

Thanks again, Ralph & Julie

Fantastic Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful location! The studio apartment was furnished with everything we needed and the beautiful ocean and sunset views from the bedroom and garden outside were spectacular! We rented a kayak from Ralph and Julie (you absolutely must do this!) and explored the beautiful waters, coves, inlets and beaches in the area for hours each day. The best snorkeling we found was just a short swim off our backyard! The Maxi Mart supermarket was an easy 8 minute walk and we were able to buy everything we needed there...fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, beer and wine. We barbecued several evenings on the gas grill right outside our door and enjoyed dinners by the sea. We decided to use the local buses (stop is right outside the maxi mart) and made our way easily to Horseshoe beach, the Dockyards and Hamilton. We walked along the beautiful Bermuda rail trail to Someset bridge (about 20 minutes from the apartment) where there is a marina where you can rent boats, jet skis, or charter fishing trips or snorkeling/dive trips. We plan to return to Bermuda and will definitely stay here again.

What a delightful paradise!

  • 5 of 5

What a delightful paradise!

This is the perfect place to stay in Bermuda. Our studio was gorgeous and had everything we needed (plus some!) to accommodate us comfortably for our week's stay. We choose public transportation and it literally only took us 8 mins. to walk to the bus stop which is right next to the Maxi Mart grocery store .. was very convenient and a good choice. We were "home" every evening to sit out and enjoy drinks from the lower lawn and watch the beautiful sunsets and enjoy evening swims. We grilled out most nights right under the moon. We had such a wonderful time. We never saw the owners and felt like we were in our very own private paradise the entire time.

The wifi connection was great even down in the lower lawn, the a/c was chilly and cooled the house down quickly, the television had many channels including USA local news, there are plenty of towels and a really good hair dryer.

Thank you, so very much, for opening your beautiful home to us!
