The cottage is close to LSU and centrally located in Baton Rouge. It is comfortable, charming, and newly renovated. It features beautiful wood-beam ceilings and stunning natural light. The house includes two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with two twins), a fully equipped kitchen, and an open living room and dining room, a renovated bath with Jacuzzi tub and washer/dryer.. Cable and internet included.
There is also a smaller studio cottage with a sunroom on the same property, available for additional pricing.
Our neighborhood is safe, welcoming, and family-friendly. It's also a great area to take a walk or exercise. There are multiple shops, restaurants and bars just within walking distance. It's easy to get around by car and bike. Also, the Capital Area Transit System has bus routes that run all over the city, and the stops are within walking distance from the house. Easy bike ride to Tiger Stadium and bikes are available for rental.
We had a really good stay. The host was very flexible with a small party we had. I'm sure we'll stay there again.
We had a wonderful week in this wonderful cozy cottage. Perfect size for a get-away. We had everything we needed and more. It is well kept and well equipped for a weekend, a week, or longer. It is in a wonderful central location for LSU and Baton Rouge. We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage to anyone.
The cottage was perfect for our extended football weekend. It is central to great restaurants and short hop to the campus. We loved the cottage kitchen! For a small place it has everything and it functions perfectly even with a group of adults for lunch. We hosted friends before the game and they were all jealous we had such fun accommodations compared to their hotel rooms. Even our local friends talked about driving past the house for years and now they would recommend it to friends coming into town. You won't be disappointed with this perfect colorful cottage. Our only disappointment was the football game:( MIZ
The pictures don't actually do it justice! It's airy and spacious, charming in it's decor, and accommodating in every way. We rented the cottage and the back apartment for our son's graduation from LSU. We were able to provide all our family members with their own space and also have people over for a pre-graduation reception. Our little house was the hit of the party!
The owner, Willa, was such a gracious host! She did everything from recommend a local bakery for the graduation cake (Gamino's doberge cake, which I highly recommend even if you DON'T have an occasion) to provide us with the kitchen items I needed to prepare the food for the buffet, to having beads hanging at the back door for everyone!
Renting this house was the smartest thing we did and was a key part of how much fun we had over graduation weekend. We were able to all be together and welcome some of our son's friends for a bite to eat and a cocktail--try doing that in a hotel! My one regret was that we didn't plan a longer stay!!
The cottage was very quaint and comfortable! It was within walking distance to the Louisiana Marathon route so we could cheer on our friend who was attempting her first marathon. By happenstance, we actually met the homeowners at the marathon finish line (quite a nice surprise). Overall, the entire experience was very good. The kitchen was the only part of the accomodations that could use some attention. A better assortment of plates, coffee cups, pots & pans, and utensils would do wonders for this kitchen (or bring your own). Additionally, the chairs in the eat-in kitchen are cute, but not very sturdy. Everything else was pretty much perfect, though.
The photos don't really do this place justice. The place is absolutely adorable. I've stayed in VRBO homes all over the world and I've never had owners so responsive and attentive to my needs.
They genuinely want you to have a wonderful time while you're in La and it's clear by their efforts that your experience is important to them. I live in SF, Ca and came to BR to visit my family for the holidays. I grew up in BR and I often visit family every 2-3 months. I usually stay in hotels but because I was staying so long I wanted to try a home this time. Very comfortable cozy cottage.
Pros: country decor is stylish chic and looks like an ad in country home magazine. Centrally located in BR so a quick drive to anywhere. Every amenity you could think of. Safe neighborhood. Large back yard. Chalkboard wall in guest room-if u bring kids it will occupy them for hours. Meticulous. Clean. Floors. Washer/dryer inside free. Free cable. Large tub with updated bathroom. Curtains/drapes. Huge breakfast window and little nook. Sleeps 5 very comfortably.
Cons: this was hard to come up with because it was so awesome. So if you're looking for a luxury hotel such as ritz or millennium-like with restaurants and bars on the property, this is not your place. But there are many activities close by. The cottage is a little overpriced for Baton Rouge. With fees and rates and taxes, it is a little pricey for a Baton Rouge vacation. Small TVs.
I really enjoyed my stay here and think it's a great spot for LSU game visitors as well. Just a hop over to LSU. Highly recommend.
