Break from Reality

  • 5 of 5

I can't even begin to say how magnificent this rental is and will be for whoever gets to visit this gem!! From the seclusion to the flowing peaceful creek it was splendid!! The night fires in the firepit and gorgeous sunlight nooks make this place a little slice of heaven. I almost don't even want to give such a glowing review to keep this spectacular place all to myself! The owners were informative and at a moments need even though not needed for my glorious weekend of serenity! I can't wait to go back when it's warmer to enjoy this cottage and the quaint town of Hot Springs.

Very nice setting for a relaxing escape.

  • 5 of 5

If you want to get off the grid, this is your place. Very peaceful setting with the stream sounds as your background noise. Fishing was a bit rough because there is an extreme drought right now, but the location is perfect. You can fish the backyard or drive to town to get to the French Broad River. I finally found the trout in the Big Laurel which is delayed harvest. They stocked it while I was there, so I didn't get skunked. The town of Hot Springs is worth the visit. A couple of pubs and a great family style restaurant. Don't wast time cooking, just eat there every meal.

The cabin is very nice and the fire pit was awesome for evening relaxation. Normally, I would have loved not having internet or dependable phone service, but I am a risk manager from Florida, and we were having hurricane Mathew back home, so I had to find ways to communicate. Overall, a great place to escape. Highly recommend for anyone just wanting to get away and relax.

River

  • 4 of 5

We had a bit of trouble finding the home, and once we did, we loved how secluded it felt. Being right on the river was a dream. The home had everything we needed to prepare meals or even just enjoy the thunderstorm on the screened porch. The biggest downfall is that there is no internet. The cell phone service is also spotty. But if you are looking to fully disconnect, this could be the place for you:)

Owner's Response: Musical Waters is less than one mile from town but feels like it is in a world of its own. Glad you enjoyed the seclusion. Most cell phones work; Verizon always work but ATT never works. There are several locations with free wi-fi, but if you have a hot spot that works as well. How wonderful to enjoy the thunderstorm on the screen porch. We have had guests love the screen porch as a sleeping space as well! Thanks for enjoying and return soon!

As Advertised

  • 4 of 5

The property was as advertised. Nice secluded location on a babbling trout stream.

All amenities were as listed, and the drive to town to pick up last minute items such as charcoal, etc... was brief. You pass an Ingles on the way in, which you may want to stop at to do any more substantive grocery shopping.

Good experience.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed the peace and seclusion of Musical Waters for your mountain getaway. You are correct, Hot Springs has no major grocery store, we have Dollar General and Hillbilly Market. Coming from Knoxville TN, Newport is the last commercial store and coming from Asheville (which has every sort of store) 15 miles from Hot Springs the Ingles in Marshall is the last grocery store. Once you are here...relax and enjoy waters of Spring Creek, fishing and outdoor campfire.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Melanie's cottage, which was about a five minute drive from a festival we were attending at the Hot Springs camp ground. Melanie's communication before the event was excellent, and she made us feel extremely welcome even before we arrived. A slight mishap with the keys was resolved quickly and easily on our arrival. The cottage itself was spacious but still cosy and very homey. We loved sitting out on the screened-in porch and listening to the stream. Definitely musical waters! Our bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and we couldn't have asked for a more convenient place to stay. We are hoping that we can return for next year's festival and repeat our visit.

The Place to Stay in Hot Springs!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this place justice. It appears to be very nice in photos and it just gets better when you see it in person. From the moment you pull off the main road onto a secluded driveway down the hill, you feel how serene and peaceful it is and how beautiful the property is surrounded by a very large Creek. You can hear and see the water from every deck, screened in porch and inside the home. It was so nice to sit by the water and make a fire each night by the fire pit. The inside of the cottage was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked great. Huge open floor plan for the kitchen, dining and living room with high Ceilings. We loved walking and exploring the property with our dogs. The screened in porch was a gem. We ate every meal there and played board games. This is our new spot in hot springs. We hope to return soon!
