John and Colleen Zeigler purchased this cabin in 2014
In the mountains , away from it all with just enough activities in the area to fill ones day.
Wonderful cabin, located in a gated community close to everything but at the same time you will feel far away .... So tastefully decorated, John and Colleen take care of every single detail to make us feel welcome ... we brought everything we needed in order to spend some time with family and celebrate Christmas Eve but it was a relief to know that we could find anything there if it's necessary and even more .... our children enjoyed the sticker game, and being such a huge fans of Thomas the train playing with the train tracks made them so happy ... we sat by the fire pit, while the boys roasted marshmallows and my husband cooked some tasty steaks .... I loved how this cabin was full of small and Wonderful details that make our stay very special ... it will be incredible to visit it in summer and the boys can enjoy the lake. I have nothing more than words of appreciation for the wonderful memories John and Colleen allowed us to have ... Blessingsu
I spent a football weekend at this attractive cottage. It is well equipped, quiet and has Direct Tv with a great picture. After watching Ohio State/Michigan we drove to Clemson.
It worked well for two age 65+ football fans.
It's so peaceful in Mountain Rest. We took a long weekend break here with my son's family and the cabin was perfect. We took advantage of the deck for grilling and toasting marshmallows, walked to the lake for fishing and canoeing, admired the beautiful fall colors, hiked in nearby Sumter National Forest, and even dropped by Clemson for a playoff soccer game. My 10-year-old grandson has already decreed that we will come back to this same cabin every year!
Second time my wife and I have stayed here and it won't be the last. Absolutely a gem. So peaceful and quiet.
The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. The lake is a great place to kayak or canoe. John and Colleen
are very helpful and great to work with. We would highly recommend staying at this cabin.
Upon our late arrival (Husband & wife) we were pleasantly surprised by this gorgeous cabin in the woods. Entering into the living area with a open yet cozy floor plan which is decorated with great care, makes one feel very comfortable. We chose to stay in the lower master bedroom. The bed was so wonderful with quality linens and pillows, we slept so good!
The bathrooms were super clean and did have toiletries available if needed. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to create any kind of meal desired, it also had some basic stuff available just in case, and laundry available downstairs.
We were told that there were poles for fishing left behind by the last person(s) but we never found any? So we purchased a pole and some bait up the road a ways. So glad we did!
We canoed around the lake and fished a little, enough to have a bluegill dinner for two. It tasted fantastic only wish we could have stayed longer.
Had our coffee on the screened porch and listened to the quiet in the morning.
All in all this was by far the nicest place we ever stayed for a weekend getaway. I would recommend if you stay, to stay as long as you can!
Would love to see in the fall. I'm sure the colors Would be wonderful. Absolutely loved the furnishings. Very clean and spacious. Also, Very generous with needed supplies. Did not feel the need to continually find a grocery.
