A Wonderful, immaculate, and beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Hi John and Colleen

Your cabin was the perfect getaway for our family. The cabin was private and secluded, quiet, immaculate, beautifully decorated and wonderfully inviting (we loved the chocolates).

My husband wanted a place not to far from where we are to just getaway and unwind for his 50th. We hiked, fished, canoed, played games and just relaxed. My husband and son went fishing on the Chatooga River and canoed on the lake, despite the cold temperatures. My daughter and I built and nice fire by the river while the boys were fishing. The trails were beautiful and so was the setting of your cabin.

We hope to come back with my other daughter when she has a break from college.

Again, thank you so much for your hospitality.

Hopefully we will be back soon.

Steve, Becky, Aleksandra and Nicholas Lezaj

Cozy, clean and PRIVATE, You will feel Welcome!!!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cabin, located in a gated community close to everything but at the same time you will feel far away .... So tastefully decorated, John and Colleen take care of every single detail to make us feel welcome ... we brought everything we needed in order to spend some time with family and celebrate Christmas Eve but it was a relief to know that we could find anything there if it's necessary and even more .... our children enjoyed the sticker game, and being such a huge fans of Thomas the train playing with the train tracks made them so happy ... we sat by the fire pit, while the boys roasted marshmallows and my husband cooked some tasty steaks .... I loved how this cabin was full of small and Wonderful details that make our stay very special ... it will be incredible to visit it in summer and the boys can enjoy the lake. I have nothing more than words of appreciation for the wonderful memories John and Colleen allowed us to have ... Blessingsu

Very nice "retreat property"

I spent a football weekend at this attractive cottage. It is well equipped, quiet and has Direct Tv with a great picture. After watching Ohio State/Michigan we drove to Clemson.

It worked well for two age 65+ football fans.

Perfect Place for a Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

It's so peaceful in Mountain Rest. We took a long weekend break here with my son's family and the cabin was perfect. We took advantage of the deck for grilling and toasting marshmallows, walked to the lake for fishing and canoeing, admired the beautiful fall colors, hiked in nearby Sumter National Forest, and even dropped by Clemson for a playoff soccer game. My 10-year-old grandson has already decreed that we will come back to this same cabin every year!

Owner's Response: we are so glad you enjoyed all the amenities of the cabin and area! The fall colors are really beautiful this year despite the lack of rain. You have a SMART grandson! You must make this a yearly tradition! (or quart-erly!!!!!) Colleen

Beautiful, relaxing clean and comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway.

Upon our late arrival (Husband & wife) we were pleasantly surprised by this gorgeous cabin in the woods. Entering into the living area with a open yet cozy floor plan which is decorated with great care, makes one feel very comfortable. We chose to stay in the lower master bedroom. The bed was so wonderful with quality linens and pillows, we slept so good!

The bathrooms were super clean and did have toiletries available if needed. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to create any kind of meal desired, it also had some basic stuff available just in case, and laundry available downstairs.

We were told that there were poles for fishing left behind by the last person(s) but we never found any? So we purchased a pole and some bait up the road a ways. So glad we did!

We canoed around the lake and fished a little, enough to have a bluegill dinner for two. It tasted fantastic only wish we could have stayed longer.

Had our coffee on the screened porch and listened to the quiet in the morning.

All in all this was by far the nicest place we ever stayed for a weekend getaway. I would recommend if you stay, to stay as long as you can!

God Bless,
