I have been on this land since 1978 and with a dear friend, transformed it into a trashed out bombed out valley to an ecosensitized landscape.

peace and quiet and retreat
The Art House was a fantastic find. The house has everything you need along with a beautiful setting. Coffee on the porch in the morning and wine in the afternoon. Sydney was a wonderful host giving many suggests on places to eat and visit.
Jackie said that staying at the Art House made turning 60 wonderful. We enjoyed our evenings together. Saturday and Sunday Katrina would get up and explore the property. Then we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast made with farm eggs that were left in the refrigerator and country ham from Ernies. We ate there Friday night and enjoyed it very much. We found people that we knew in common with Ernie. Saturday we explored Leiper's Fork and the country roads, ate at Puckett's and went to a concert at the Franklin Theater, Ruthie Foster." We loved the house so much and meeting Sydney. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is obvious that Sydney truly cares about her guests. We hope to return again with other friends to share this wonderful place.
My husband and I stayed for the weekend. It was so quiet and a wonderful place to get away! We will definitely be back!
It was amazing and very quiet. While the owner lived nearby, we never knew she was there allowing us our privacy. The area was beautiful and everything you could think of was available in the kitchen and bathrooms, seasonings, utensils, toiletries, fresh eggs in fridge. Very nice touch. Water from the tap is spring fed and UV treated. It was great!
Stayed here over Christmas holiday. Short drive from family who live in area. Awoke each day to nature's beauty, coffee and breakfast fixings courtesy of owner. Allowed me to gather myself for day's visits, activities and family time. Each evening I returned to the quiet and remembered the wonderful day with hot tea and lovely sunsets and starry nights. A good solitude that provides you deep breathes and space to appreciate.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Art House. It was very quiet and peaceful. Good way to get away from the daily noises and distractions. Nicely situated in a Tennessee Hollow. Be aware that you may not have cell service. Wifi is available for email and surfing the Internet. The hostess' house is only a few yards away in case of emergency. Also note there is no cable TV. There is a DVD player and small selection of movies. So if you really want to cut the cord from the world, you can do it here. Bring some groceries as the nearest store is a bit of a drive but the house is furnished with all the items you need to use to cook with. You won't want to leave the house anyway. The deck was my favorite place to sit and watch/listen to nature. Excellent place for writers too. Everything was clean and very comfortable.

This has been a nature preserve since 1978. Please keep outdoor lighting to a minimum as to protect that night sky and the creatures that come and go in the dark. Of course use discretion and use to insure your safety coming and going.
All water is Spring Water, with a UV filter, so drink up and take some home!
