Beautiful secluded property

  • 5 of 5

Wife and I were looking for a quiet getaway in the Franklin, TN area. We were very impressed with this beautifully decorated former art studio. It was luxurious, spotlessly clean and had nice views of the surrounding woods. The kitchen had great appliances and was incredibly well stocked. One of the best places we've ever stayed. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and artwork. And not far from excellent shops and restaurants in Franklin.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! you were both wonderful to host, to talk with and I hope I get another chance. You are both delightful! Come back anytime, and wow, you left the place so nice, thank you....but mostly thanks for your beautiful spirits gracing the Art House.

A special retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent more time than we expected, but still not enough, sitting on the side porch of this lovely home in the woods at the end of a long dirt road. We couldn't get enough of that view (our view, if only for a brief time) of the forest and nearby stream, nor enough of the sounds of the rustling treetops and the birds chattering in the woods. Oh, by the way, the home is awfully nice too -- like living in a very comfortable artist's studio. And the kitchen is the best-stocked we've ever encountered in our decades of cottage rentals. Sydney is a gracious host and consummate artist, whose oneness with nature inspires her visitors to strive for the same.

The Art House was a fantastic find. The house has everything you need along with a beautiful setting. Coffee on the porch in the morning and wine in the afternoon. Sydney was a wonderful host giving many suggests on places to eat and visit.

Jackie said that staying at the Art House made turning 60 wonderful. We enjoyed our evenings together. Saturday and Sunday Katrina would get up and explore the property. Then we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast made with farm eggs that were left in the refrigerator and country ham from Ernies. We ate there Friday night and enjoyed it very much. We found people that we knew in common with Ernie. Saturday we explored Leiper's Fork and the country roads, ate at Puckett's and went to a concert at the Franklin Theater, Ruthie Foster." We loved the house so much and meeting Sydney. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is obvious that Sydney truly cares about her guests. We hope to return again with other friends to share this wonderful place.

Art House in January

  • 5 of 5

It was amazing and very quiet. While the owner lived nearby, we never knew she was there allowing us our privacy. The area was beautiful and everything you could think of was available in the kitchen and bathrooms, seasonings, utensils, toiletries, fresh eggs in fridge. Very nice touch. Water from the tap is spring fed and UV treated. It was great!
