We are both lifetime residents in the area growing up on the lakes and know how enjoyable it is to take friends and family out on the lake. So when we got the opportunity to acquire a cabin we wanted to share those same experiences with others.
Laurel Miller purchased this cabin in 2014
We started with one cabin to enjoy and rent out and soon found out that without any resorts in the area ,there was a need for cabin rental.
Clearwater Lake is one of the top fishing and recreational lake in the area? That also includes winter ice fishing with a plowed access onto the lake only 100 yards from the driveway. Also, walking distance to a marina and great bar & grill. Yet secluded overlooking Clearwater Lake. Great kitchen and bathrooms with granite tops. Views of the lake from almost every room. Back yard with room to play and enjoy a quite night around a campfire.
We had a great stay. The cabin was as described in the listing and the host was easy to work with. I would have no reservations recommending this cabin to others.
It was a beautiful view and the accommodations were awesome!! Alittle disappoints by the dock and beach shore. Hard to get our boat in and out because of weeds etc.
Overall, my friends and I were happy with our stay. The house is up to date with nice furnishings and appliances. Beds were comfortable and clean. Grill worked very well. It was nice to be close to the Waterfront for a little "night life" at the lake.
The cabin is stated to sleep 9 and it does but if it's a group of all adults, it'll be a bit cramped or uncomfortable for a few. 6-7 adults plus 3 kids would be fine. Usable yard is fairly small and sloped so it's not great for yard games. That's what you get in exchange for it being on a small hill, with a great view of the lake. Deck area was great. Lots of parking area by garage, which is not accessible.
Dock area would be fine for 1 boat + 1 pontoon. Adequate lift for each on sides of dock. We had 3 fishing boats so the pontoon lift was really just in the way, made it hard to dock up our boats. Dry summer, so water was low as well, maybe 2 feet of water under the dock. Ended up picking up passengers at the BJs docks and trailering every night to make it easier. Electric at the dock would have been nice to recharge boat batteries.
Kitchen was well stocked with the essentials, knives could use a little sharpening. Plenty of clean towels for the very nice bathrooms. AC and heat both worked well. We needed both because of a cold, rainy first day and warm days after that.
For our group the cabin was not ideal (3 boats, 9 adults) but we certainly don't regret the stay. Lake is very clean and fun to fish (make sure you have a good map or GPS locator for all the shallow areas!) and the cabin itself was great.
The cabin was very nice and clean. The owners were accommodating and friendly. The neighbors were friendly and a nice bait shop and bar/restaurant within walking distance from the property. The biggest down fall was we couldn't swim from the dock due to lily pads and mossy water and didn't really want to dock the boat due to the water. There is no sand for kids to play in by the water. We had to drive 5-7 minutes to a public beach. The beach and play ground were very nice.
The one drawback of the house is the main floor bedroom which has bunk beds. They would be fine for a family with kids, and they worked well for us last year when we used only the lower bunk. This year, we needed to use both bunks. It is difficult for a 70 year old woman to get up and down from the top bunk. When someone climbs in and out, the whole bed shakes and the person in the lower bunk is disturbed.
Our time at Bayview Clearwater lake was wonderful. The cabin was clean and well set up. The lake was wonderful and we were able to swim, boat, ski, tube and fish...it was perfect!!
We are walking distance to the Waterfront Resturant with casual or fine dining. BJ' Bait is two doors down with boat rental or ice fish house rental along with a very small grocery store. In the summer is one of the largest swappers meet in the state only two miles away. On the 4th of July is one of the largest celebration and parade in Annandale three miles away. One hour from the Mall of America and one hour and five minutes from the Minneapolis International Airport
