1000 Sq Ft Home With Pool, Sleeps 4-6, Minutes To Beach, Dining, And Shopping

This charming vacation bungalow has three small bedrooms - The master bedroom is 10' x 10' and has a pillow top queen bed, cable TV and a small en-suite bathroom with 5' tub/shower combo. Bedroom 2 (11' x 8') has a twin mattress with twin trundle, and bedroom 3 (11' x 8') has a full sized futon. Bedrooms 2 & 3 are recommended for teens or younger. The 2nd bathroom has a stall shower and a stacked washer/dryer. Cable TV and WiFi are included. The house is walking distance (9 blocks) to Lake Street shops and dining in downtown Lake Worth and a short drive (2 miles) to the beach. It's a well loved family vacation cottage. The floors are varnished plywood so cleaning up tracked-in sand from the beach is no big deal. The full kitchen has a range, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, filtered water in the large fridge and the usual assortment of cookware and dishware one finds in a vacation home (lots of it, but mismatched!) The kitchen dining table seats 4. We love our Casita de Las Palomas "Little House of the Doves" The pool and front yard are very private. It's great for a family getaway. Lake Worth is very laid back and casual. This is a racially mixed, 'hippie dippie', GLBT friendly, socio-economically diverse neighborhood of Year Round Residents, Renters and Snow Birds. NOTE: You will hear the trains periodically. The tracks are about 10 blocks away to the west and they run through most all of the coastal communities in South East Florida.

AND IN RESPONSE TO THE 1 STAR REVIEW WE RECEIVED

There was an unattractive abandoned "zombie house" across the street. We protested to the city for two years. It has finally been removed by the city and is now a grassy lot with mature trees and nice neighbors.

Why Scott Dolphin chose Lake Worth

It's a great place for casual family getaways with easy access to the attractions of all of South Florida. The house is situated on the back of the 50' x 125' lot with the patio, pool and landscaping all to the front. We love Lake Worth for its laid back atmosphere, its truly diverse community and its close proximity to the gorgeous Lake Worth public beach (one of the few public beaches in Palm Beach County) Lake and Lucerne Streets in downtown historic Lake Worth have several great restaurants and shopping. We chose Lake Worth for its charm, its 'hippie dippy' socially tolerant vibe, its convenience to local shopping, nice dining and the beach. We did not want a gated community or totalitarian homeowners association. We also like that it's well out of the way of the flight paths leading into Palm Beach International Airport that fly directly over most of West Palm Beach anywhere north of the spillway. NOTE: You will hear the trains periodically. The tracks are about 10 blocks away to the west and they run through most all of the coastal communities in South East Florida.

What makes this house unique

This property is centrally located to anywhere in South East Florida. It is just off the Interstate 95 10th Avenue North exit, and in between A1A (North Federal Blvd.) and South Dixie Highway in the Mango Groves district of Lake Worth. It is minutes from historic and opulent Palm Beach (about a 15 minute drive from Mar-a-Lago), Boating, Fishing and Diving in the Delray and Boynton Beach Marinas, The spectacular PGA and Trump golf courses and about 25 minutes from Wellington, 45 minutes to Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton and a little more than an hours drive to vibrant Miami Beach.

Quaint & Comfortable

We had a lovely time at La Casita. The house, although older, is quaint and comfortable. Our family fit vey well. We especially enjoyed the outdoor patio with the pool.

Our family was visiting The Palm Beach area for our sons baseball. For down time the beach,amenities and dining was minutes away. The home was cozy, clean and perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the pool and would like to return if back in the area. I would recommend to families

The location of the house was very convenient to the beaches however the property needs updating

Sleeping on the bed in one of the bedrooms was like sleeping in a concrete floor

The pool was dirty

The house across the street from this property was boarded up

Owner's Response: We are so sorry you were unhappy with your stay. We try to make it clear that this is a beach vacation home. The master bedroom mattress is a premium quality firm pillow top however the other bedrooms are for children or 'overflow guests' and are in no way luxury sleeping. We clearly state the full size mattress in the 3rd bedroom is a futon and not a regular mattress. The house across the street was tragically abandoned by the family of it's deceased former occupant and was finally demolished in September of 2016 by the city and is now a clean empty lot flanked by well maintained homes. The pool is cleaned and serviced twice a week. We have recently installed a completely new pool heater and washer/dryer.

Really comfortable stay

This property was a great size for our family gathering which included six people. Having two full bathrooms was really nice. The door that separates the bedrooms from the living area came in really handy with noisy kids. We had a blast in the pool and at the beach which was a short drive away. The yard felt private and like a tropical getaway. The owner, Scott, was very accommodating and helpful. We hope to be back soon!

Great little house

Great little house. Had a group stay here for a wedding weekend. Was convenient to all the events in the Palm Beach area. An easy walk away from downtown lake worth and supermaket. We particularly enjoyed the front yard area. Great chairs and pool for sitting and enjoying the weather.
