About the property

Extremely spacious two-bedroom apartment in 'Casa do Largo' - a restored manor house in a prime riverside location in the historical center of Tavira. Double doors from the living room and kitchen of the apartment open onto a private courtyard garden with swimming pool. During the summer months, the ferryboat to the beach at Ilha de Tavira leaves from the quayside in Tavira town, around 100m from the apartment. At other times of the year, the boat leaves from Quatro Aguas which is around 1km further along the river. There are several other blue flag beaches and golf courses within a few minutes drive. The apartment is extremely conveniently located for both the beach and the town. The riverfront restaurants are close at hand and the Old Market and Roman Bridge are only a couple of minutes walk away. You can spend hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets of this lovely old town with its many restaurants, shops, bars and terraces to enjoy a refreshment in the sun. This beautiful manor house dates from the early 19th century and has been tastefully renovated to high specifications, using natural materials and retaining historical features - such as the traditional Tavira roofs and windows with interior wooden shutters, as well as thick walls which keep the property warm in winter and cool in summer. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with a combination of antique and contemporary furniture. It is an excellent base for either a summer or winter break.

"This is a wonderful apartment in an excellent part of Tavira. The rooms are large, modern and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds comfy. My children were a bit disappointed that the pool was too cold to swim, although it did get warm enough on one very hot day. There are lots of marvellous restaurants and cafes close by, and the very lovely river is just metres away. There is a very nice bar on the corner, The Pink Flamingo, which is fun and friendly, but not noisy at night. The apartment is very accessible for a wheelchair user, but the cobbled pavements outside are a nightmare! Our only complaint was that there was no one waiting with the keys when we arrived, even though we were on time. Had to phone the office. And the deposit of 300 euros seemed very high. Overall a really fantastic flat and Tavira is a perfect holiday destination."

Wat een geweldig appartement! Het is enorm ruim, schoon, perfect onderhouden, van alle gemakken voorzien. Het is ook ideaal gelegen, vlakbij het centrum van Tavira (erg leuk!) en tegenover de aanlegplaats van de ferry naar het strand (aanrader!).

Echt een topper, zo'n fijn appartement op zo'n lokatie!

"LOCATION ABSOLUMENT FABULEUSE !!! Tant par sa situation - en face du ravissant port de Tavira et à proximité immédiate de tous les services nécessaires (resto et bar devant l''appart) - que par sa taille - immense ! : nous étions un couple avec un bébé de 1 an; nous aurions pu être 6. Appartement très bien équipé, déco moderne, très très grande pièce à vivre, 2 très grandes chambres, 2 salles de bain : le luxe ! nous nous sommes sentis à l''étroit .. quand nous sommes rentrés chez nous ! Et le clou du spectacle : la terrasse et la piscine entourée de hauts murs blancs et à l''abri des regards. Il était un peu tôt dans la saison pour en profiter pleinement mais c''était quand même très agréable, ne serait -ce qu''à regarder. A noter que la piscine n''est pas au ras du sol mais surélevée, on y accède par un petit escalier : c''est plus sécurisant avec un petit : moins de risque qu''il tombe dedans. L''appartement lui même est de plein pied : pratique. Enfin le service était à la hauteur : on nous a bien reçu malgré une réservation la veille et notre arrivée tardive; comme demandé nous avions une chaise bébé et un petit lit déjà fait. Enfin l''Algarve est une très belle région; sans doute très (trop ?) fréquentée en été mais magifique à visiter au printemps. A louer sans aucune hésitation."

Take the turning to Tavira off the IP1 Motorway and follow signs for the Vila Gale Hotel. Casa do Largo is located by the River Front in Tavira, approximately 150m from the old market. A detailed map can be provided with booking confirmation.

Ideally located for access to Tavira's wonderful beaches (boat to beach is 100m from the apartment). Within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and sites interest in Tavira's historic centre (the Roman bridge is approx 350m). Excellent Golf courses in vacinity (nearest is 3km). The interesting town of Ayamonte in Spain is only a short 30min drive and Seville is around 90mins.
