Dolphin Hideaway, Sleeps 6, 3 Bedroom, Private Heated Pool, Boat Dock

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

If you like being near the water, you’ll love Dolphin Hideaway. Not only is it right on a canal, complete with its own boat dock, but it’s also just a short walk from the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. All that, and it has its own heated pool too!

The layout of the 3-bedroom house makes it especially well suited for two couples or families vacationing together. The lower level is its own 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartment, complete with a private entry. With a queen-size bed, a living area furnished with a settee and a dining table for 4, and even its own TV, this cozy space offers just the right amount of privacy. If you’re traveling with a teenager, you can be sure he’ll want to claim it for himself!

The remaining 2 bedrooms and bathroom, as well as the primary living areas, are upstairs. The master bedroom, furnished in sunny island fashion, includes a luxurious king-size bed, a TV, and glass doors that open onto the deck. Leave the windows open and let the murmuring canal waters lull you to sleep…

The 2nd bedroom includes a twin bed and a double bed. The kids will commandeer this as their private clubhouse!

As you look out from the large windows of the living/dining area onto the lush palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, you may feel as if you’re in a treehouse—albeit one outfitted with comfortable seating, a wall-mounted HDTV, and free wifi! Sliding glass doors connect the living area to the deck, allowing you to make the most of the indoor/outdoor casualness that Florida’s known for.

The deck is large enough to house not just a dining table and chairs, but also a longer and a grill--perfect for cooking up whatever you reel in from the canal, the bay, or the gulf. The deck’s roof and ceiling fan will keep you cool even in the midday sun.

When you’re not barbecuing on the deck, you can prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen. From stainless-steel appliances to pots and pans to prep tools to tableware, the kitchen has it all. That includes such niceties as a coffee maker and a dishwasher. For even more convenience, Dolphin Hideaway has its own washer and dryer--why waste time in a Laundromat when you could be swimming in the pool, boating in the bay, or paddleboarding in the gulf?

The canal-front swimming pool is a beauty, with a dolphin-shape fountain and wide steps that make it easy for just about everyone to access. When you’re not splashing about, you’ll love lazing on the poolside lounge chair, surrounded by palm trees. If you need more shade, you can move under the awning by the dock; there’s even a dining table and chairs beneath it so that you can enjoy an alfresco snack or card game while watching boats--and dolphins and manatees--pass by on the canal.

Dolphin Hideaway’s pool and dock area are so delightful, you could while away entire days here. But you won’t want to miss out on all that the beach has to offer--especially when you can walk there in less than 10 minutes! Fort Myers Beach is home to the annual American Sand Sculpting Championship, and once you step onto the velvety beach you’ll understand why. The beach is also considered one of the country’s safest, thanks to its relatively shallow and calm waters, which make it perfect for swimming, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, and surf fishing.

Also within walking distance of Dolphin Hideaway is the island’s Times Square area. Packed with restaurants, shops, and nightspots, it’s great for catching live music and street performers. How fabulous to be able to go out for dinner and drinks without having to jump in the car!

When you stay at Dolphin Hideaway, you can enjoy all the best that a Florida vacation has to offer right at your doorstep. And because the house is dog-friendly, you can bring your four-footed friend along too. First, though, you have to make your reservation! So don’t delay--book your vacation today.

Next Door Neighbor

  • 3 of 5

Trip was good until Sunday morning around 3:00 AM we get a knock at the door, its the next door neighbor naked as a jay bird trying to get in. We try to get her to leave, but she would not. She was swimming in the pool and everything it was crazy. We had to call the cops, no sleep for anyone in the house and we had to check out and drove 10 hours back home. But all in all its a clean house and nice inside. Just a crazy trip.

Do Not Rent

  • 1 of 5

I will list the positives first: Nice location, and loved being able to fish outback

The negatives: Do not rent this location, it is actually a Vacation Rental Pro Property and their service is horrible.

First day, couldn't access the bottom unit, door handle is broken. We finally accessed the bottom unit day two... the toilet didn't not work and the unit smelled very much like mold. The pool was full of debris, the house itself was dirty and their were dead bugs on the floor.

We arrived an a Saturday and began contacting customer service on Sunday and every day after until we left seven days later. We were promised daily that different service people would be out to fix everything. On Monday, the maintenance man arrived and fixed thee door with duck tape... and nothing else. The plumbers arrived and told us they needed a new pump for the toilet and they would be back. Never happened-NO WORKING TOILET FOR SEVEN DAYS! The pool company never showed, so we tried to clean it the best we could for our children. This place and the lack of compliance from the rental company put a huge damper on our vacation. PLEASE learn from our experience and DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE! We have pictures if anyone wants to see them.

Overall we really enjoyed our time!

  • 4 of 5

The property was very clean upon arrival. We had problems with the outside light on the and no volume on the mast TV, contacted maintenance and no ever came out. Other than that, the property had all we needed and then some. This was our first time with a home rental and would defiantly do it again.

This house is in terrible condition. It was not checked or ready for occupancy when we arrived. We had booked it for two months. I could not wait to leave. It started with the fact that there were no keys for us when we arrived. Luckily I found a back door unlocked. The refrigerator did not work nor the washing machine which is outside in a shed. I sent a letter to the company with a list of 11 complaints and a request for a refund. The lower apartment flooded twice and the company ignored our request for it to be cleaned until I threatened to call the health department. They then sent someone but it was only the last week we were there. I would not rent this house nor would I rent from this company.

If you are looking for a 3 bedroom place, only 2 can be used unless you like the smell of mold & mildew, the downstairs was flooded a month before our stay in September, the property was dirty outside, had ants & cockroaches inside, the pool wasn't cleaned, there are no working smoke detectors,The house is small & needs a lot of work, the 1 and only good thing is the location, this is definately not worth the money, stay somewhere else
