About Troy & Tammy Reeves

My family owned the acreage next to this large parcel when I was growing up. We always wanted this unique property because of it's access to the forest service and the trail system. It finally became available after 30 years. We built our dream home here in 2006. Our 3 sons enjoy the many activities a rural mountain retreat provides. We love the short drive from the valley.

Troy & Tammy Reeves purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Troy & Tammy Reeves chose Arizona

Ok, Most Cabins you vacation rent are in an HOA area with rules & CC&R's(not to mention another cabin just 100 feet away) and you cant do anything more than just look at a few trees.....Not this property!! with an almost 7000' elevation, Huge tall Pines everywhere, Creek that runs in spring, Direct access to trails and Forrest service, Hunting, cliff climbing, Mountain directly behind home, Unbelievable Wild Life and the Views(what incredible views from the two large decks). You can not find a more relaxing, secluded enjoyable luxury cabin on the White mountain!

Just added WiFi in April 2016

What makes this cabin unique

Overlooks Praire and has direct access to Forrest service with trail system that you can either ride vehicles, horses and simple hike for hours. You can also hike to the cliffs with Indian ruins and hieroglyphics that are viewed from the huge back deck! In addition the Juniper ridge lookout tower(one of the highest elevation points in White Mountains..is located just a atv ride from trail system behind retreat. OH AND YOU cant miss the 'historical Ponderosa pine Tree'(one of the largest Pines trees in the white mountains) is also up a beautiful trail just a couple miles from our cabin

Just added WiFi in April 2016

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we pull into the drive way about 6 doe walk across the backyard and my kids jump out of the car to watch them walk deeper into the woods! It was amazing, we saw deer, turkeys, squirrels and blue jays right in the back yard while we were there. House was perfect, my kids and my parents loved the pool table in the loft. I couldn't get my kids to come inside most of the time because they were having so much fun on the zip line! It was just such a great experience, we loved it. Lots of relaxing and hiking and of course the best part, making smores at the fire pit! Thank You for sharing this special place with us, we hope to come back some time during winter to enjoy some sledding!

Lovely home in a secluded , quiet setting. Spent most days on the Fort Apache Reservation but the evenings were refreshing. Comfortable home with very nice furnishings. Recommend to anyone.

One Of The Nicest Getaways EVER

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from our weekend here, first thing is this location is 100% unbeatable. Bring the family like we have on several occasions and create memories that your kids will ALWAYS remember. We even went out one evening with a flash light (ok it was a cell phone light, but it worked) to spotting owls, and we FOUND them, so cool. This place is just the best with the best of everything, I took tons of amazing photos, that i wish i could share, some of the rainy/cooler weather we got on Saturday morning (nothing like waking up to a light rainy morning once in a while), then the sun came out and we went for a hike. (i would LOVE to see it snow here) I cannot say enough about how incredible this cabin is and its' location. I will be back again and again......and again. Thank you Reeves family for keeping such a great jem for us to enjoy.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

The property is absolutely beautiful. The house is very nice and the area is wonderful. There is so much to do at this cabin with games, outdoor activities, and hiking all around. We had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded cabin with tons of activities. It is a bit of a drive to the grocery store, but it is a beautiful drive.

Wonderful time!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time ever renting a cabin for a vacation. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and very clean upon

arrival. Lots of fun things to do, which we did some target shooting on the property. We also took a drive through

the gated forest area. Next time we will bring our Rhino or Quad with us to enjoy that experience even more.

Weather was a little warm from about noon to 4pm, but before those times it was cool and felt GREAT!! Wish we

could have stayed longer, but next year we will plan a longer stay. The owners were great to work with and very

nice people. Looking forward to next year.

Majestic and Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

After we stayed in this slice of heaven last year, we were determined to return and stay even longer. We tried to make a reservation far in advance, and Troy and Tammy were so awesome they let us lock it in months sooner than we would have been able to otherwise! Thank you so much!

We had a group of 4 Adults and 7 kids ages 3-13, and wish we could have stayed forever. There is just something overtly special about this spacious, comfortable, and amazing cabin. It sits on and adjacent to a large tract of land to explore along with the National Forest to access right out the backyard. We as well as everyone loved the beds, so cozy and comfortable after long day out in the forest, playing at the lakes, or exploring the shops in the nearby communities. The kitchen is well equipped, and one of the nicest kitchens I've ever cooked in! Pots, pans, dishes, real silverware, and pretty much everything else we needed was readily available. We all enjoyed the Hammock, Billiards table, Darts, Ping pong, Horse shoes, Cornhole, zip line, tree stand, fire pit, board games, card games, and the historical reading about the Old Standard Mill! You guys have done your homework! I brought a lot of wood so we could have fires morning and night, it was just the most perfect trip overall and in every way. The nearby Mogollon Rim as well as extensive forests mean there is much Wild Life to see. Deer, Turkey, Foxes, huge squirrels, numerous varieties of birds, Frogs, Open Range Cattle, Rabbits, lizards, and a black and red Long Nosed snake were all seen, we even heard there were Mountain Lions out there somewhere. There is now Wi-Fi available, but we didnt need it, with some much to do and see, being on the internet was not on the list. We hope next year we can stay again!
