You won't find any all-inclusive resorts in Troncones. And there are no shopping malls, casinos or dance clubs either. There's not even a traffic light here. What you will find is a quiet seaside village along a 3 mile stretch of beautiful unspoiled beach.
The Casa Canela (Cinnamon house) is the cottage with two master suites, full kitchen, dining and living rooms and large covered furnished patio. There's even stairs to the roof where you can relax under the umbrella or soak up the sun in private.
$100/nt, $630/week, $2240/ 4 weeks or 28 days.
$145/nt, $913/wk and $3250/4 weeks or 28 days.
The Canellitas are two private single rooms (the Duke and Frida) in a separate bungalow with full bathrooms, kitchen (shared if other room occupied) and has a large furnished covered patio.
$49/nt, 309/wk and $1098/4 weeks or 28 days.
$59/nt, $370/wk and $1320/4 weeks or 28days.
Daily housekeeping services are included (except for Sundays when our housekeeper has the day off).
Although Troncones may be known internationally for it's surfing, there's plenty of other activities as well; Eco tours, horseback riding, boogie boarding or body boarding (anyone can learn in 5 minutes), biking, a skateboard park and many local restaurants offering fresh seafood, local and international cuisine. The beach is shallow, so 50 yards out and the water is waist high.
Just across the street from us is Roberto's Bistro, who offers the perfect place to enjoy a cold cervaza on the beach in the afternoon and the best dining in Troncones in the evening. It's here where the baby turtles are released and race to the sea almost every evening at dusk. If there's not enough to keep you busy here, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are just 20 minutes away where there are two golf courses, fishing charters, shopping, an aquatic park with water slides, museum, , parasailing, scuba diving & snorkeling tours, sunset cruises and you can even swim with dolphins.
And that is probably the reason you've chosen to stay in Troncones - to get away from all that. Here it's possible to walk down the beach for an hour and not see another person.
The property is right across the street from probably the best part of the beach in Troncones.
We supply body boards and bicycles to share with our guests.
If you've never heard of Troncones, please spend a few minutes to look it up if you're looking for a vacation at an incredible location.

I am a Canadian who has been living in Mexico since 2003. I speak passable Spanish and I am more than happy to accommodate any of your vacation needs.
David Watson & Lyn Gilstrap purchased this cottage in 2014
We are one of the lowest priced vacation rentals in Troncones without skimping on the comforts. Casa Canela and the Canelitas are on a large property that give our guests a feeling of quiet solitude. We are across the road from arguably the best stretch of beach in Troncones for swimming, body boarding and playing in the sand. We have chaise loungers on the beach for our guests and
we provide all our guests with a small cooler, beach umbrella & mats to really enjoy your beach time. We also have boogie boards and bicycles for your use, free of charge.
My friend Candy and I drove to Casa Canela to visit Lyn and her friend who was visiting also - so it was a
chick week. We had pedicures, massages, great dinners out at wonderful restaurants nearby, body boarding
in the surf. The property is excellent - just my type of place (very safe and clean) and Lyn is the ultimate
hostess with the mostest. Very relaxing and very comfortable - absolutely no pressure - a super get away.
Over the years I have stayed at many places at Trancones Beach, but Casa Canela is the best of all of them.!!
Thank you Lyn and David - Sincerely and I mean Sincerely - Martha Blenkhorn
Lovely spot! Close to the best beach, not too busy. I can hardly wait Til next time
Spent an amazing 4 weeks at Casa Canela, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms , great kitchen and all the amenities one would need. Lyn was an amazing host and suggestive of what to see and do in the area. Easy walk into town for any staples . A veg truck goes by the house every day or so and the freshness of the product can not be beat. Suggest a stop at the Mexicana Commercial in Zihua to stock up on wine, etc as it offers more product choices . That said, seafood and meat are all readily available in Troncones . Loved the restaurants, and all are within walking distance of the house. Robertos Bistro across from the house is a must ! Live turtle releases every couple of nights just before sunset "not" to be missed!! Great air conditioning, lots of hot and cold water and the house itself is very clean and well maintained. Lolita the housekeeper was a treasure and unobtrusive going about her routine . Bikes and boogie boards are on property and the beach is one of the most amazing we have ever seen in our travels! Walk for miles and enjoy the waves as you go...Lots of spots to drop in on during your walk and most of all the town itself is very safe and friendly .. Our only complaint was that they would not let us put their adorable dog Archie in our suitcase .. All in all and amazing spot and you would not regret your choice with this property!!
We came down to Troncones to surf the breaks at the Ranch and La Saladita. Troncones was a great mid-point with a car rental for excursions outside of town. Lynn was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed -- she even had us over for some drinks and we all went out for dinner together at Roberto's Bistro across the road (which is an cool place with great food and live music Saturdays). The place itself was very clean and great to have the shared kitchen. It was never a squeeze sharing and we actually were happy to meet the woman in the next unit. We came in low season so it was a little dead, but that's the way we like it -- not a person on the beach for miles it seemed. We especially loved hanging out with Lynn's dog Archie, who is quite the little vagabond adventurer. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We stayed in the "Duke" canalita.
It was clean, comfortable, had ample storage, a shared kitchen and veranda. Sharing the kitchen was not an issue as it is only shared with one other canalita.
The "Duke" is tastefully appointed with a surfing motif inside, and a spacious mexico flavoured veranda which takes advantage of the non-stop tropical breeze.
Troncones itself has a small town feel and the locals are very friendly. Crime is not an issue in Troncones. Day or Night, Troncones is safe for all. Spontaneous ex-pat nights at "Orbes" or "Celias" with wonderful cooks and the best Margaritas, open air excellence at reasonable prices. Ask at Orbes how to find Rufies, but book ahead. The locals must book this ahead also, and they know the best.
The "Duke" comes with bikes, boogie boards, shore mats and sunbrellas. I was even provided with a rod and gear for shore casting.
Barbequing was easy and cool under the palms in the fire pit lounge, so my catch of the day, Correl, was enjoyed by all.
The grounds are done as a flowered oasis with a variety of palms, shrubs and 2 very large shade trees.
Ambiance is everything when you need to get away and relax.
The "Duke" has ambiance in spades. The roar of the pounding surf is pleasantly muted, as is the crowing of the distant roosters that make this "Oh so Mexico".
Lyn was a most attentive host with the inside track on all the many activities in Troncones. She is exceptionally well travelled and shared many interesting stories. Lyn even arranged an in-house massage and mani/pedi for my wife.
Across the road is beach access and Roberto's Bistro. Roberto's Bistro has an outdoor shower for patrons. There was not a day that I could not boogie board. Fifteen minutes up the road by bike is Majuaha, a renowned surfing destination with a sand bay, a great place to learn.
We had a wonderful stay at a very reasonable price.
The only downside was the fact that we had to go home to resume our regular lives.
Thank You so much Lyn and Dave

The Turtle Sanctuary is located on the beach directly across the street from Casa Canela. Turtles are released almost nightly at dusk. You get lucky and even see baby turtles run right by you anywhere on the beach if you're there watching the sun set! There is a lagoon about 15 minutes away where the river meets the sea. It's home to hundreds of birds and surrounded by palm trees with the Sierra Madre mountains providing the perfect back drop. There is a skateboard park in the village. Diving and snorkel trip can be arranged. There is usually plenty of dry driftwood there to build a camp fire to cook or just gaze into in the evening. You could spend the entire day there and not see another person.
Troncones is a small village of about 500 people, so the amenities are limited to a couple of small stores (tiendas) which offer milk, bread, beer, some fresh vegetables, cold drinks, ice cream beach toys, etc. Most of the year, a fruit and vegetable truck makes it's way up and down Beach Road every other day whith fresh local fruit and veggies - the strawberries can be amazing. There are a very few beach vendors selling locally made art, hammocks, hand painted bowls, etc.. If you're looking for unique souvenirs or collectables there are only a few shops in town, so whatever you may be looking for ask us, we'd be happy to direct you to what can be found in town. If it's a big shopping spree that you're after, you may want to take a quick trip into Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo which has a large a souvenir district offering jewelry and hand crafted local art. Ixtapa and Zihua offer everything you'd want from a busy resort town and only 20 minutes away. Keep in mind that here are no bank machines in Troncones. If you're planning to eat at home a lot, then a trip into Zihua is recommended for groceries as there are two huge food stores there. Please let us know what you're needs may be and we will do our best to see what we can to arrange before your arrival.
