First, a heart-felt thank you to all who have come to love Lakeview. It truly has become our retreat as well. We have loved and learned so much from hosting over 100 groups from church and leadership groups, company workshop training, dozens of family reunions and even a couple weddings. We are so grateful for the many lovely comments and reviews. We love interacting with you before, during and after your stay. We enjoy hearing about your experience and always look for ways to make Lakeview more special for each subsequent guest.
All of what you saw in our original description still applies, and more! More cleared yard, more flowers and landscaping, new basketball goal and volleyball, large swingset with soft mulch underneath, tire swing, 40 foot tall tree swing, huge fire pit with homemade benches.
For those that loved our good friend's original description or if you have never read it, we have kept it unchanged below.
Turn yourself in a 360-degree circle and all you see is grass and tree meeting the sky. The extraordinary landscape at Lakeview will take you on a journey to the heart of native Oklahoma, concentrating largely on the green country. It is filled with breathtaking views of the wondrous landscape and wildlife that inhabit its 142 acres.
As you arrive at Lakeview you are introduced to the main lodge. With its natural stone and cedar construction you feel as though the lodge was placed there by nature herself. After finding a private place to meditate, to journal, you stop and reflect under the shade of the 1200+ square feet of cedar porches. You feel your energy re-invigorated through a peaceful frame of mind.
Along with the sunrise and sunset extravaganzas, you can enjoy the outdoor fire-pit as you watch the smoke trail up to the skies and you feel your connection to the circle of life.
Though you don’t want to stray far from this safe haven of cedar and stone, there will come a point when you will want to roam around the grounds, catching the rays of sunlight through the canopy of trees and walk along the paths. The longer you stay the further you want to explore the forested trails and to experience the exciting peace of your heart and mind that has begun in earnest.
As the concept of time slips away you are washed over by the familiarity to the world around you that you have forgotten in the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Every aspect inside Lakeview is as tranquil and natural as the outside. As you walk into the main lodge the scent of cedar washes over you as you stand beneath the ceiling soaring over 20 feet that appears suspended by a single tree. You notice the natural Amish rocking chair and deep leather furniture inviting you to sit and relax before the working [gas] natural stone fireplace. The main lodge has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms and sleeps individuals, couples, a family or multiple families comfortably.
The sensory experience doesn’t end. Take advantage of the fully stocked pond suitable for fishing or swimming, full amenities in the butcher-block counter kitchen, play one of many family-friendly games and recreations, read from the great selection of children, youth and adult books, or relax in the jetted tub or double shower in the master bath. The little ones (and their parents and grandparents) will love the large enclosed backyard with a huge sandbox.
Your next step is through the double glass doors onto a cedar porch with a breath-taking view of the lake on one side or the idyllic pond on the other. There are also several picnic areas to choose from.
The Cottage is connected by the covered deck to easily accommodate your large group or extended family. Lakeview is also a great choice for a romantic get away for just the two of you. The full property is yours to enjoy, whether you use just the Lodge or also the Cottage.
At Lakeview, you will witness at night by the star-filled sky, and the beautiful natural surroundings by day. You will feel its profound effect on your daily life as Lakeview becomes a cherished memory of your life’s journey where you will want to return again and again.
We moved to Tulsa from Ohio in 1987 to attend Bible college. In 1993, with 5 children aged 2 - 11, we moved to Russia to minister to children and train children's workers. We moved back to America in 2000, Paul started an IT consulting company and we started learning real estate. This property is our first vacation rental, but have been using vrbo since 2003 when we rented our first condo in Hawaii. We have rented dozens of condos and homes and made many friends who have vacation rentals, who are always willing to share ideas on how to enhance the experiences of each person and group who stays on their property. We invite you to share this part of our dream with you, your spouse, your family, your loved ones or your group.
Paul Kempf purchased this lodge in 2014
We purchased Lakeview to have a place where our family and friends could enjoy time away from the busy-ness of life, and feel rested and rejuvenated while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of nature and family and friends.
We knew as soon as we saw Lakeview that this was an ideal spot for us and others to enjoy its charms and beauty. Overlooking the lake on one side, the pond on another side and the high bluffs at the back brings such a sense of oneness with God's beauty and restfulness. Every time we drive up the private, winding road leading up to the lodge, a deep sense of peace and relaxation comes flooding back. Come share it with us and we believe you will agree!
Thank you so much, Paul and Diane! You both are so generous to let us enjoy your cabin for these 2 days :) Everything was more than beautiful! All the girls had a blast!!
May God bless you as much as you've blessed us!
We arrived in the dark so we didn't get to see what we were in for. The cabin was absolutely beautiful! Nice beds and a great comfortable layout. When the sun came up and the rain stopped, we were pleasantly surprised with a peaceful and serene place. Because of rain, we didn't get to hike, but we enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing 3 days with friends!! Absolutely worth the price!!
My husband and I spent the weekend at Lakeview Lodge. We were given detailed directions to the lodge. After finishing work on Friday evening we made the short trip from Tulsa. How welcoming and inviting the lodge was upon arrival. It was warm, cozy, and clean. We slept in the upstairs bedroom and LOVED the mattress. Saturday was a relaxing day enjoying the home and grounds. We will be scheduling time here again! If you're looking for a great place to stay, look no further.
It was an all over great experience. It worked out perfect for our group and was very accommodating with the right supplies, linens, etc for a big group. Thanks for letting us stay!
Our favorite event of the whole year is always the time our family enjoys a rental so we can wake up together. We've rented several properties but never something as perfect as Lakeview! It has to be one of the best properties for family get togethers anywhere. It is by far the cleanest, best stocked home away from home we've ever had. Felt just like we put it together for us. Everything we needed was there. We're renting next year already and this time we'll only bring food and clothes. Everything else is there! We thought we were excited about all the activities: fishing pond, fire pit, tire swing, large fenced in yard, jungle gym, sand box with surprise jewels & gold, children's toys, game closet, volleyball net, tree swing, wrap around pourches with great furniture, 5 bedrooms etc. But it turned out our very favorite part was the quality of what it was all put together with. First class everything. Nothing cheap about this property. Best vacation ever. Totally loved every minute.
Our family of 14 ranges in age from 7 months to 88. Met all our needs and wants. Even our 2 year old cried when we left! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Looking forward to next year.

This was our 2nd annual Family get together and it was again....AMAZING! The property was beautiful and so relaxing. The grandkids look forward to it and remember details about the playset and sandbox! It is just perfect. The whole group when we left already wanted to reserve it for next year and I'm sure we will. The owners are the absolute nicest people, so accommodating and sincere.
We had 4 families comprised of 8 adults and 10 kids (all under the age of 8). This is the perfect location for a getaway! We didn't leave the property:). There is something for everyone with the pond, fire pit, fenced in play area, trails and HUGE deck space! We will definitely be coming back!!
Property is secluded from highway, but less than 2 miles from Ft. Gibson Lake and nestled between the small towns of Tahlequah and Wagoner, Oklahoma. Only 50 miles (50 minutes) from Tulsa International Airport.
