The finest California lifestyle. Not only will you love the gorgeous view of the California coast, you are on the beachfront. Just steps away is the Manhattan Beach Pier with restaurants, shops, parks, entertainment and more. Enjoy the beautiful sunset every day from your own patio.

This is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom beach condo which sleeps 4 adults comfortably. The condo is fully furnished. Upstairs you will find a "bonus" bedroom, the master suite which features a large walk-in closet with a bathroom. The bathroom has a his and her sink, accompanied by a stand up shower. Two bedrooms and one bathroom are located on the middle floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. The garage comfortably fits two vehicles tandem style.

Stay here for the location

I'm gonna give it a 4-star just because the house needs a lot of TLC, which you can't really tell just by looking at the pictures.

The location of the house couldn't be any better - just a couple of blocks from the pier, can't get any better than this. Everything that we could have needed was available in the house - towels, beach chairs, good washed and dryer, plates, cups, etc. The fact that you can't see the ocean unless you are standing didn't bother us - that also means that people walking by cannot see into the house. The architecture of the house is a little funky but that also didn't bother us - you can see in the pictures what the house looks like before you go. We were disappointed however at the overall upkeep of the property. The outdoor yard has been neglected and pretty much all plants have died - it looks bad. The house itself is in need of interior painting - every single wall needs it, nail holes need to be covered and painted, windows are rusted and don't open/ or don't shut properly, rug in the living room needs to be taken for a good wash.

We have little kids so all mentioned above wasn't a big issue for us but if you're expecting this to be a luxury house, it's not.

Note: we rented this house a couple of months ago, before the July reviews had been posted. I agree with other guests that posted reviews in July on how they described the house.

Great Location

We loved the location. Maybe the best location on The Strand in Manhattan Beach - close to the pier but not so close that you hear everything happening at the pier. Tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Lauren had wine and beer waiting for us - which was really nice. There were new beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards in the garage.

The layout of the house is a little funky and it needs a lot of TLC. Whomever designed the home didn't allow for beach / ocean views from a seated position in the house - difficult to explain but you actually have to stand up to look out of the windows in the living area. Just about very other home on the Strand has floor to ceiling windows facing the beach but for some reason the builders of this home didn't see value in that. Windows were very dirty and the ones that are closed don't open and windows that are open won't close all the way. My wife and I took some time during our vacation to clean the place up and make the most of it - especially the windows in the master bath to the balcony which gave us an amazing view of the Strand, beach and pier once we washed them off.

For the price and location it might be worth it depending on how much you can tolerate. If you're used to camping or budget accommodations you'll be fine. If you like luxury and details you'll like the location but be annoyed with the condition and layout of the house. Probably better for a bunch of college kids to pack into the place and share the cost.

Overall - annoyed with the condition and funky layout of the home but loved the location. If the home were in good condition you'd be paying more than double. Enjoyed our stay, love Manhattan Beach and will be back but will find another rental and probably pay more.

House On The Strand

The location of the house is AMAZING. Close to shops, restaurants, and on the beach. Can't beat it. The house is spacious. The patio in front of the BBQ was filled with weeds and the courtyard was dusty. We sprayed off that, as well as the lower windows, which were filthy. The views are amazing throughout the house. The upstairs windows were just as dirty, but since its a three story building we couldn't do anything about those. Really sad to have such a dirty view of the ocean. The couch was clean and comfy. They have MANY throw rugs throughout the house and bathrooms. They were stained and dirty. There is tile downstairs and wood so we moved those aside and it felt much cleaner. The walls are in need of a good painting. They are pretty banged up. Most windows would not open. Beds were comfortable and felt clean. Nice shower. There were chairs, beach towels and boogie boards. Our deposit was refunded based on the complaints above. Some really good things about the place and a little TLC and it could be great! The windows downstairs you can see out of if you are standing, but not from the couch (other than a small square peak a boo window).

Best beach front house, for the money, I could find! Location is wonderful!

This is an air conditioned, beachfront, spacious home with a garage. It is well equipped and the rental agent

, Lauren went beyond the call of duty by leaving us.2 bottles of wine, coffee and a few more treats. The price

reflects the fact that the home is in need of some maintenance. The Windows need washing and some need replacing.

The master bath is very nice but the sliding doors to the balcony do not open. We had a wonderful week.

Perfect location

Our family (6 adults and a small child) spent 4 nights in this modern condo, which is in quite possibly the best location in Manhattan Beach. It is only a short walk to the pier and is so close to numerous shops and bars and restaurants. The condo is clean and comfortable. The master bedroom is on the 3rd level and has a great bathroom/shower (no hot tub as indicated in the description) and amazing views from the small balcony and a large window in the room. The other 2 bedrooms are on the 2nd level, along with another full bathroom. One of these 2 bedrooms also has a great view. The first floor has a small half bath. There was plenty of room on the first floor living area for us to hang out, including a nice courtyard area. The kitchen was nice, and we made use of the large dining table for meals and board games at night. We also enjoyed sitting outside in front of the condo, sipping coffee in the AM and wine later in the day, watching all of the people walk the Strand. The 2-car garage made it possible to easily park our vehicles and not have to worry about finding a parking place. The only negatives: the interior of the condo shows some wear and tear, but this is a minor thing. We never could get the TV in the master to work - again, very minor. Also, be aware that the stairs to the 2nd and 3rd levels are steep and slick - be careful. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to return in the future!

Our property location is prime for any attraction you had in mind while visiting sunny California. You can travel south to hike next to Donald Trumps National Golf Course or travel north and walk through the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
