Rustic and cozy. A few staple items missing but no big problem. Great location.

Northwoods solitude

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd New Years week that my family of 5 has spent at the Baker Hill Bunker. Once again we enjoyed the peace and quiet and solitude of the Northwoods. Our German Shepherd was quite at home and enjoyed the stay as well. It was accessable even in snowy conditions and power stayed on even after 2.5 feet of snow. Thanks again Joe for offering this rustic Northwoods retreat.

Sugarloaf trip with some college friends

  • 5 of 5

There was plenty of room for the five of us to hangout and a twin bed for each to sleep. The cabin was clean, everything worked properly, and there was even firewood provided for the wood stove. It was a quick and easy drive to Sugarloaf in the morning too. Joe was kind and quick to reply every time I messaged him. We all agreed to make the trip out again next year!

Perfect rustic cabin in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was awesome!! Stayed here for a couple's weekend getaway, but would definitely recommend this for a skiing/hiking trip for a group of friends, as well. The cabin was spacious, well maintained, had a full kitchen with all appliances, full bathroom, and TV and wifi. It's pretty secluded and close to many skiing/hiking/recreation options.

There is a Walmart and a grocery store about 30 minutes away. We got pizza and beer at a store called the General nearby in Salem that we highly recommend! Our corgi loved it, too! We definitely want to come back!

Quiet and peaceful cabin, away from it all

  • 4 of 5

My family enjoyed our winter getaway at the Baker Hill Bunker. There was plenty of room for all of five of us in the open loft sleeping setup. We were pleased with the amenities. It is a rustic place for people looking to escape city life for a few nights. My son and I took advantage of the shooting berm behind the cabin. Our German Shepard approved as well! There was plenty of room for him to run. We stayed 31 December 2015 to 3 January 2016. There was about a foot and a half of snow on the ground. There is a good family public use sledding hill 10-12 miles south of Kingfield, ME on route 27 that we enjoyed both days that we stayed.

Sugarloaf weekend

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend, myself, and our dog Manny stayed at Joe's place this past weekend. The cabin has everything you could need. It's has all the cabin charm we wanted with plumbing, heat, and electricity. The trip from the cabin to Sugarloaf is 4 turns total, so easy. We even got great breakfast on the way in Kingfield. Joe was always available and friendly. He's a great host. We hope to make it back there again!

Location

Located at the top of Baker Hill in Salem Township, we are accessible by road or direct link from ITS 84. We are halfway between Sugarloaf and Saddleback making for a great skiing variety. The trail to ITS 84 can aslo be used for a cross county ski trip exploring the woods on the north side of Baker Hill.
