Experience historic Lancaster in this charming turn of the century brick row home in the heart of downtown. Located two blocks from F&M, and a short walk into the city center, including the famous Central Market, Fulton Theater, and fabulous cafes & restaurants.
The entrance foyer leads into a warm and inviting living room with hard wood floors and large comfortable seating. The dining room is adjoined and can seat up to 6 comfortably. In between the two living spaces is an old fashioned hutch desk suitable for a flexible home office station, whether it be for a visiting professor, catching up on email over a morning coffee, or simply researching the area via the accessible Internet. The eat in kitchen is quite spacious and well equipped with all the basic amenities. Walk through the back door to enjoy the manicured backyard and furnished patio, ideal for outdoor entertaining and perfect for al fresco dining in the spring, summer and fall.
The entry foyer also opens to the main staircase which leads to three upstairs bedrooms. The front “Lemon Room' faces the street, has two bright large windows, is nearest to the bathroom, and includes a double bed. The middle bedroom has two twin beds and the very spacious back bedroom has a double, as well as ample floor space for additional options if necessary (pack and play, blow up mattress, etc.) The 3 well-appointed bedrooms share the full bath and and all have adjoining doors, features very typical to the era.
Perfect for the parents and families of F&M students, visiting for the weekend (athletic events, performing arts, etc.), Homecoming Weekend and Family Weekends, alumni days, graduation, etc. It is also a great location for academics and professionals needing a home away from home for a short stay. Families visiting family in Lancaster or wedding guests looking for a comfortable housing enjoy staying in our home.
We were in town for a wedding and this was a perfect base for our family of 4 adults and 2 kids. It's easily accessible and very close to Central Market, Franklin & Marshall and all of the gems in this small city. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The only thing that would make it better is the addition of another bathroom - with only 1, shifts were necessary. But, we knew that going in so no surprise there. The breakfast food/coffee was a nice touch and allowed us to ease into the day. Great stay!
We really enjoyed our visit to Lancaster and our stay at this beautiful home. This older home has so much character and charm. The rooms are beautiful. Everything is well taken care of and little extras are in the kitchen! Thanks for leaving the muffins and juice! We would love to stay again.
We had a wonderful time at Laura's home. The home was incredibly quaint, clean and comfortable. Laura was incredibly responsive if we had any questions or concerns. My children loved the muffins in the freezer in the morning. The location next to the ice cream shoppe was a perfect way to end our day - or to start our afternoon with a sandwich! I would HIGHLY recommend this property for anyone looking to have a nice, relaxing weekend in Lancaster.
It was the best house we have rented , everything was so nice and cozy decorated for the holidays, very clean with everything we need it, there was even breakfast for every day of our stay , the perfect place! We definitely recommend it and we would love to come back again , if I could give ten stars I would do it!! 😀👍
The Zarazua Family
We just left this lovely home after spending three nights. It was everything we could ask for and more. It is within walking distance of downtown Lancaster and just a very short drive to the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside. The owners and manager of this property thought of our every need. It is a quiet neighborhood and everyone was so friendly. There is a small market just across the street. The ice cream shop just a few doors down had the best ice cream I have ever tasted. Make sure you eat at the Sugarbowl just down the street. It is a small pizza, sub, sandwich and salad restaurant. They have excellent food and they deliver!
