About Daniel Whittles

We are a young family that lives full time in Naples. We bought this home as our family escape to the beach! But we are very happy to share it with people who also love to be by the beach!!

Daniel Whittles purchased this house in 2014

Why Daniel Whittles chose North Naples

Naples Park is truly a wonderful location since it is so close to Vanderbilt beach as well as the vibrant Mercato Shops. However, some of the homes are quite old and small. When we saw how large and beautiful this home was we knew we had to have it! We have spent the last 4 months remodeling the entire home.

Bright, roomy, accommodating property close to everything!

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 5 adults and 2 toddlers found the house to be perfect for our needs. It appeared there was recent painting done (nails, but no art on the walls). There was plenty of space for the toddlers to run around and play (including one room with absolutely nothing in it) so it worked out there was not a lot of décor to worry about. The house has plenty of room for large groups. The kitchen was fairly well-stocked (couldn’t find potholders). The dining room table had seating for 7. There were a few minor concerns while we were there, which were immediately addressed by Daniel: There was no toaster, so they went & bought one for us; the hose to the pool would not shut off and a plumber was dispatched; every time we opened the sliding door to the patio, it squealed like crazy, but we had a handy-man in our group, who was able to fix it. These are minor things in the grand scope of things, and the owner was more than willing to accommodate to make our stay a memorable one. We wish we had known pack-and-play & high-chairs were available, because we rented them ahead of time for the toddlers. The upstairs was like a mini-apartment on its own, with a kitchenette and full, roomy bathroom (a TV would be nice upstairs). The pool was great! We used the bicycles. We could do laundry whenever we needed to. There was a cooler and plenty of beach towels & the beach was only a mile away. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, found the house kid-friendly and would recommend it to large groups. Thank you!

Our Family Stay

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean and spacious. It clearly is a remodel with remaining minor fixes painting to be done. Bathrooms extremely nice with great showers and water pressure. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, pots/pans. We had 6 adults, 2 children and 1 toddler with plenty of room to spare. We could have used more furniture. Only a sofa and loveseat so limited seating indoors. No t.v. upstairs which would have helped. Extremely annoying patio door that was very difficult to open and VERY loud when doing so. However, we didn't call to get fixed so on us. Plenty of beach towels and bathroom towels, but could not find any dish rags for dishes. Ironing board and no iron so we bought one and left it. Also only one blow dryer. Pool was clean and warm, great space with very comfortable seating. Kids swam everyday. Beds comfortable.Very quiet and nice neighborhood. We walked with stroller to the beach in 30 min. Nice walk! Very close to any shopping, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. Owner very easy to work with, forgot to have crib there, called him and he had a brand new packnplay there within an hour or so. It was our first experience with VRBO and we would do it again. It wasn't the Ritz, but worked well for large group of people. Thanks Daniel!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I'm glad that in the main you enjoyed your stay. However, I also welcome your positive feedback. You are absolutely right about having a TV in the sitting room upstairs! I really don't know why I never put one up there but now that you mention it, it is clearly an obvious addition that would make the sitting area upstairs much more useable! I will be putting a TV in their ASAP. The patio slider that was making so much noise will also be fixed. I had no idea it was so stiff and loud and can understand how annoying that would have been for your stay! My apologies. I will be adding extra rags for cleaning dishes and will add a few more pieces of furniture to make all of the available square footage of the house more usable. Once again, thank you for choosing our house for your stay, and thank you for your feedback. We look forward to hosting you again!

Big house with a nice pool

  • 4 of 5

Overall it was a good experience as the house had plenty of space and was in a good location of town. It was challenging upon arrival because we did not have entry access information or details on the Wifi, but other than that it worked out well.

Lovely home with great pool

  • 4 of 5

All six of us enjoyed staying in the house for a long weekend. The house was just as advertised, with 4 bedrooms, several big living spaces and a pool that we all enjoyed. The kitchen was very well stocked, except for not having a potholder. We were in Naples to visit our elderly aunt, and she loved just sitting on the patio and hanging out with us. We also went to the beach a few times, only a mile away. Whole Foods was a few blocks away, so we cooked at home a lot. The only improvements we could suggest are: the single twin bed was very uncomfortable for our sister (she said it was slanted), and there was no soap in several of the bathrooms. And we loved the Christmas decorations! Thanks!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Lin. I am glad you enjoyed our home over Christmas. I am sorry to hear the single bed was uncomfortable. I have now replaced it with a brand new more comfortable bed. We hope to host you again next year!

5 stars if the bathroom was working

  • 3 of 5

This is a bittersweet review because 5 days prior to our trip I received an email by VRBO that our property may no longer available. I contacted the owner (Daniel) first to see what the issue was. I was told there was a plumbing issue in the main bathroom in the hallway (the other two bathrooms are located inside the 2 master bedrooms) and that no solid waste or toilet paper could be used.

This was going to make for an akward trip. 3 days into our stay Daniel met us at the house & said we can use the bathroom and that he would call a plumber to correct the issue if there was an overflow.

The problem with the bathroom is that the foundation on the house is sinking into the drain under the main hallway bathroom. (To correct the issue it would require drilling through the foundation in the downstairs bathroom). We had already begun to make concessions to share the master bathroom and didn't want to end up with a plumbing issues so we chose to not put solid waste down(the hallway) toilet during the entire stay.

The house is beautiful and I noticed no issues. The pictures are accurate except there is not an additional screen dividing the pool from the seating area. The pool and seating area is enclosed under the same screen. We had a 2yr old and kept her inside unless she was swimming in pool.

It is close 7min bike ride to the beach- mostly down a residential quiet street. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood. There are 7 bikes with an accommodation to carry 2 toddlers. We had a great time and My only complaint is I wish that Daniel was proactive to alert his tenants about bathroom issue.

Owner's Response: Dear Mary, I apologize that the bathroom was not working during your stay. I appreciate your honest feedback and will make sure to communicate better with all future guests. If you look to return to Naples, please consider my home again. I will be sure to compensate you for the bathroom issues you had during your stay. Regards, Daniel
