Our home is located in a quiet, residential area in the heart of Lafayette. It feels very private and safe (single-family homes with yards and driveways, lots of trees), but is minutes away from major streets, shops, restaurants, etc. The house is very spacious and light with an open concept and new furnishings throughout. The large master suite is located in the back of the house with direct access to the pool area.
Hello, I'm Claire. I am originally from New England but live in San Francisco, California. My husband was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana and we purchased a home there to be able to spend more time with family.

We LOVE Lafayette! Owning a home there means lots of time with family, who are just down the road and all over the general area. We fell in love with this particular house partly due to its convenient location, but mostly for the privacy and layout. The backyard and pool area are completely private, and feel like a tropical oasis. We love the layout of the house and the open feel. It's the perfect place for our family of 3 (we each have our own bathroom!) and it's also an ideal location for hosting our family, especially with our large dining area, outdoor patio, and swimming pool.
The yard is beautifully landscaped and maintained, with charming touches throughout (statues, wind chimes, a fish pond, outdoor seating and benches, a little pergola, etc.). There are also various areas available for meals, including seating at the breakfast bar, a kitchen table, a large dining table that seats 10, and an outdoor eating area which is protected by the sun (and has a ceiling fan!) and looks out into the pool area. The living room is central to the open home and has beautiful couches and a 50 inch television. We find that staying at the house feels like a real home as well as vacation getaway--the best of both worlds.
Home is in a great location. Nice and quiet neighborhood. Great weekend getaway just to relax. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks!
we got to "host" our family for a holiday gathering there
it was perfect
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfy house. Very open house plan, and so much room! really , everything we needed was available to use, from utensils, to paper products, to dishes and cookware. and the sun porch? with the long, beautiful table? We sat there most of the time enjoying the space and visiting. The yard with a pool was great to enjoy as well. This is a nice neighborhood and we would love to visit again. A home away from home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lafayette. This home was a peaceful haven away from our busy schedules. We definitely plan on returning!
Our family stayed in Claire's house in August for our daughter's wedding. The gardens, fish pond and pool outside are amazing. Our experience was a bit unusual since the rains came and we were preparing for a wedding in the midst of the "1000 year" flood. We still were able to have enough room in the house to make all the bridal bouquets and have the hair and and makeup done for the bride and bridesmaids. The house was such a welcome retreat from the stress of dealing with the flooding in other parts of the city. Claire's sister was very helpful in making sure we were ok and so very nice. If we come back to Lafayette again, we will stay here! You should too!
The house was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. The pool was great. Communication with the host was quick. The house is located close to many shopping and dining options. The third bathroom is off the back of the master, and mainly for pool use. The diningroom is mostly windows, which is beautiful but warm this time of year. The house was perfect for our large family. Thank you Clair!
