Space 1,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths House, Beautifully Furnished With Everything You Need!

Our cozy house is right in Philipsburg, but in a quiet spot looking over town and the mountains. It is a special house, with wood floors, lots of light, and very pretty furnishings. One bedroom has a queen bed, another a double bed, and the third bedroom has a double & single bed. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a nice tiled shower and one with a big clawfoot tub. There is also a beautiful sauna, a pool table, dvd player, and a cozy gas fireplace in the living room. The kitchen is fully furnished and has a cozy breakfast nook. There is a nice-sized deck with a grill looking out over town, the mountains and the nearby discovery ski area. Discovery is an excellent ski area for families, but also has very advanced runs. This house is great for families, couples, and single people looking for a peaceful and fun getaway. Guests have really loved staying here, and it makes us happy to offer our home to you.

About Blake Bucher

We, Blake and Jennie, are the owners. Our home base is Missoula, not too far away, but we are currently teaching in Copenhagen, Denmark. In our absence, we decided to share our cabin, as we thought it would be nice for others to get to be here too. We so hope you enjoy it! Blake built the place, over five years, with some help from builder friends and Jennie and our two daughters. We are originally from Minnesota, but definitely count Montana as home. The last few years we have been lucky to have some experiences teaching and living in Asia and Europe!

Blake Bucher purchased this house in 2005

Why Blake Bucher chose Philipsburg

Philipsburg is a great little town and we felt so fortunate in 2005 when we were able to buy this lot and the pink trailer that came with it! We worked bit by bit over the next five years to build this house, and we are really proud of how it turned out. It is a perfect location, in town but in a quiet spot overlooking everything, and very close to skiing, fishing, ice skating, great mountain biking, music festivals, theater in town, you name it.

Birthday weekend in Philipsburg!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend in Philipsburg to celebrate 3 birthdays! The house was cozy, comfortable and provided plenty of space to be together and spread out. The location was perfect to stroll through town. We will definitely come back again!

Adorable Home

  • 5 of 5

My 5 friends and I had a delightful stay in this cozy home. The house was very clean and the beds were comfy. A great place to explore Philipsburg from. It was literally 1 block off the main street and we walked everywhere. Only suggestion is it would have been nice to have some wine glasses!

We have rented many a VRBO homes in the past few years but this one is above and beyond!! It is by far the nicest and cleanest home we have ever rented!! Thank You Blake for making this such an amazing experience!! There were only 2 of us but it could clearly have comfortably handled our whole family. Another trip on the horizon; I am sure. We relaxed and did a lot of constructive nothing which is just what we needed. Philipsburg is conveniently located and day trips were on our agenda. Coming back each day to such a warm and inviting home was just the ticket. We cooked several meals in and I baked a WONDERFUL cherry crisp with fresh Montana cherries!! YUMMO!! The sauna was also a very nice treat at the end of the day. Thank You to Truxton who informed us prior to arriving to “grocery shop” before we got here!! GREAT tip!! Thank You to Blake for checking on us after the earthquake.
